RE: New England Wolfpack Punishment - Nokazoa - 05-19-2020

I like Ace and I like hotdog. I hope we all keep the dog pile to a minimum. This has to be rough for the team and I feel for them as much as I can. I don't think ho necessarily overstepped as they had two options for this punishment of striking it as a first offense or second offense.

I can't remember enough about the Nola punishment to speak on people bringing that up.

My issue is that this is an interesting interpretation of the rules.

The whole purpose behind the one infraction = punishment A, second infraction = much harsher punishment B system is to provide a warning shot before taking drastic measures. So I guess the question here is: were the two trades separate infractions under the spirit of the rule?

I get that he broke the rules but this seems to take a rule that is meant to do anything and to use it in a situation to achieve an unjust outcome. If it was truly meant to be used in the manner that it was today, then it should have been worded as "if you wrongfully trade the same pick numerous times" or "if you wrongfully trade picks numerous times". When it's worded as "first offence: ____. second offence: _____." it seems to imply that these are steps of punishment that are increased once someone becomes a repeat offender. You can't call Ace a repeat offender when he was never caught/punished for the first offence.

At least, if I was Ace that's one of the arguments I'd start with on my appeal.

This. I could understand a slightly harsher version of the first time offense + probation, but to straight up fire him? Doesn't make sense to me.

Spicy Apple Cherry Chutney
[Image: picAaKNLe.jpg]

1 (15 ounce) can dark sweet cherries, drained
1 largetart apple, pared, cored, diced
3⁄4 cup vinegar
3⁄4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 1⁄2 teaspoons fresh garlic, minced
1⁄4 teaspoonred chile, crushed (optional)

  • In a heavy medium-size saucepan, combine all ingredients & bring to a boil.

  • Reduce heat & simmer 20 to 30 minutes until thickened.

  • Serve hot or cold with any type of meat. Rrefrigerate any leftovers.

Deep Fried Brie

  • 1 small brie cheese (175g)

  • 1/4 cup flour

  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

  • 3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

  • 1/2 cup Toasted sunflower seeds

Directions
To ensure the brie holds up to frying, place in the freezer for 20-30 minutes or until thoroughly chilled.

Meanwhile, pour vegetable oil into the deep fryer up to the “maximum” fill line (or halfway up the sides, if using a regular heavy-bottomed saucepan). Preheat to 375F.

Set up your breading line – a plate of flour, a bowl of egg, and a bowl of breadcrumbs. Dredge the Brie in flour until lightly coated, then dip first into the egg and then into the breadcrumbs. Dip a second time into the egg, then again into the breadcrumbs to create a good, solid coating around the brie.

Deep fry the breaded brie in preheated oil for 2-3 minutes, or until the coating is golden and crisp. Using a slotted spoon, carefully remove the brie from the hot oil and transfer to a baking sheet lined with paper towel to drain for a minute or two.

Place the brie on a pretty serving plate or cheese board, top with toasted sunflower seeds and spoon chutney into a small bowl. Serve immediately with plates of crackers, melba toast and/or thin slices of french bread to accompany.
