SHL Logo Contest Results - Eggy216 - 12-04-2019
Howdy folks! I assume you're here because you're curious about the results from the logo voting contest. As you know we took submissions from around the league last season to see what people could come up with for the future logo of the SHL.
We ended up with 8 submissions from 6 members, which were then voted on by 10 members taken randomly from 10 teams around the league (5 from each conference) as a representative sample to determine the prize winners (with cash payouts to the top 5 logo submissions according to their votes). While the initial plan was to take the results of that vote along with the results of Head Office discussion to determine the new site logo, we opted to go with a more democratic route and have the entire site vote for the future visual direction of our league.
Here today, we're going to find out both who's taking home the cash prizes, as well as what the new site logo will be!

Because it's more fun to do things in reverse, I'll be announcing results of the original 10-person vote first. You've already seen the top three logos (plus one more because I fucked up at first), but here's the ones that didn't make it that far.

Our 7th place logo comes from someone who submitted two entries. This is his lower ranked of the two, so we'll take his higher result for his overall finish. I'm sure the goalies of the league will appreciate this beauty from @Julio Tokolosh:

In 6th place we have a logo submitted by a well-known graphic designer on the site. He also submitted two entries, so we'll be taking the higher rated one for his finish as well. This is a bit of a tweak of our current logo from @Wasty!

The 5th place logo, and the first entry to receive a cash payout, is from @Julio Tokolosh again! You've already seen this one which was a nice text-based logo, the only text-only logo submitted for this contest.
