Greeting my dearest reader! If You read this You were entered magical world – an alternate universe of Hogwarts hockey school. Yes… It is true this universe is combination of SHL and Harry Potter franchise.

So…. How is it?



It is cool – full of magic and hockey (instead of quidditch) but even there each player have to represent his team – Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. For better mood I suggest the video music in the background





Eventually every year starts with draft and for this season I have chosen to make draft from aviable DFA’s. 16 players 4 rounds, 4 teams, 16 picks! Lets start!





Before that – You must understand that there are certain engine behind all this. I have my mathematical approach of The Sorting Hat. For the clue:
Gryffindor values courage, bravery, nerve, and chivalry.
Hufflepuff values hard work, patience, justice, and loyalty.
Ravenclaw values intelligence, learning, and wit.
Slytherin values ambition, cunning, leadership, and resourcefulness.



The Sorting Hat decides the one of four fractions by rating of skills that are values for them. I picked 5-7 aviable SHL players skills to each of the fractions that in my opinion fits the best for it. Indirectly it means this is subjective but in other means results are calculated…. By a excel Sorting Hat!
In the comments You can try to guess how I sorted skills for each house and then I’ll reply how much of it is correct! Lets start!



Before it – lets appreciate possible mock draft! Results might be interferred by the needs team has. At certain point team could do a draft steal by getting a player that actually is significially higher in mock draft than in actual draft!

Trade rumours: Daily Prophet says Team Ravenclaw would like to trade for some extra pics in the draft. Most of prospects are suited for their team while Hufflepuff is highly interested in 3 players while Gryffindor, Slytherin for just 1 player. If trade happens that means some team/teams could get extra pics for next Hogwarts draft.

… Rikard Bjerg from Maine Timber! You are this drafts Albus Dumbledoor!
Rikard was hot prospect for almost every Hogwarts house. He was very wanted by Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw although Slytherin didn’t showed any intrest. Left side defenseman managed to score once and assist twice in SMJHL S53 just playing 12 games as DFA with Maine Timber. He recorded biggest contribution in penalty kill too by compering to all his draft class opponents. Wish You luck at Gryffindor!

…. Defenseman Pojo Biscuit from Anchorage Armada! Team Hufflepuff is excited to have this player especially when team Ravenclaw despirately wanted him too. Left defense Pojo Biscuit in 11 SMJHL games with Anchorage got 1+1 and stayed positive all season long. He is definetely going to put numbers in this house too!

…. Stan Q. Next! Team Ravenclaw are positively suprised to have this porspect. They know Gryffindor wanted him very much too in the end giving edge to Bjerg. Being most productive player per game from aviable players Ravenclaw is happy to steal him as 3rd pick! Berg will now continue to play in “winged” teams! Center got 1+2 in 3 SMJHL games with Detroit with average TOI under 10 minutes! Definetely a wizard!

…. Ryan Rieley! Ryan was only truly wanted prospect of team Slytherin and they are happy to have him in the end of 1st round. Caroline Kraken right wing was most productive player from DFA and eventually one best goalscorers. In 11 SMJHL games Ryan Rieley did 2+2 record, did 16 hits by playing under 12 minutes per game. Is he Salazar’s ancestor? None knows but we all know he is goig to do great things! Great things!

First round is over! Do teams try to make a trade? Daily prophet says Team Ravenclaw desperately wants add another pick!

…. Jax Gracie! Left wing from Maine Timber is 2nd choise of Slytherin today! Being favoured by Ravenclaw eventually manages to get drafted by Slytherin. 6 games, no goals but 2 assists, less than 8 minutes per game with Timber. Jax has been noticed with huge offensive potencial and may be with team Slytherin he could reveal it! As always – Slytherin picks hockey players with capability to do great things!

…. Jason Desrouleaux from Vancouver Whalers. This right wing was value by Ravenclaw as 1 round player while Gryffindor and Slyther considered that this player would be appropriate late 2nd or early 3rd. Jason – the right wing from Vancouver – prove to be overall good player even though being one of youngest players in team. 1 + 2 in 13 games, scoring only goal in powerplay while he has spend also signifficant time to penalty kill. Ravenclaw has to be lucky with this draft steal!

… Alexander Kazur II from Kelowna Knights! Right side defenseman was one of biggest interested prospects of Hufflepuff. There are rumours that if any other team would select him faster they would consider a trade. Probably Hufflepuff has plans to pair up him with Pojo. Alexander in 9 games with Kelowna didn’t record any points but contributed with valuable amount of shot on goals, hits, TOI and valuable help on penalty kill. Hufflepuff believe in this prospect! Also being drafted by Hufflepuff is huge loss to Gryffindor who wanted select him a pick later!

….Mack Daddy from Colorado Raptors! This young center applied for Raptors S53 roster 9 times. Not scoring a single point those nine game but still contributing less than 10 minutes of TOI and controlling situation on ice. Mack is promising prospect and probably that’s why Gryffindor changed mind in the last minute!

….Terry Smith from Colorado Raptors! Team Gryffindor selects another great young prospect from SMJHL Calorado Raptors. Right side defenseman Terry “Big Terry” Smith has played only one game in Raptors in regular season. This was impresive enough to get in the eyes of Team Gryffindor. He showed signnificant defensive game (best from all DFAs) and managed to be on ice when team scored. Terry probably join up with this years 1st pick Rikard Bjerg and gonna hold Grinndor defensive lines!

Daily prophet romours say that Slytherin is now pissed off by stealing their scouted draft pick! They remain calm because there is another! About Oscarsson – in 12 games with Maine Timber the young right wing proved his offensive ability with a 1 goal and for that he needed just 2 shots! Alexander Oscarsson was limited with just ~6 min ice time per game. Ravenclaw truly believe that he can bring up bigger production with bigger trust!

Now lets see the this years 10th pick – Right wing Asclepius in 12 S53 games recorded 1 goal but with just a 8 with half minutes TOI per game and playing overall game well too in both of the zones. Looks like Slytherin is going to make Kekkonen and Goodname pair for their future!
