Gothenburg, Sweden--

Hello folks, it seems like it is that time of year again! I am pleased to be announcing Sweden's S62 IIHF team!  "It's going to be a competitive team, we're going to try to play fast, we're going to be a team with a lot of energy, we're going to be a team that initiates and plays with a lot of discipline.''

S62 Team Captains:
*as voted on by players

( C ) Jimmy Wagner

( A ) Karl Krashwagen

( A ) First-Name Last-Name

Without further ado, please welcome the players that will be representing Sweden at the S62 IIHF World Championships:

Forwards

( A ) S50 - First-Name Last-Name @gurbs  Forge
( A ) S50 - Karl Krashwagen @CementHands Platoon
( C ) S53 - Jimmy Wagner @sve7en Panthers
S58 - Tomas Lind @Canadice Rage  *rookie

While Sweden's defense will be their backbone, that doesn't mean we don't have some standout forwards available to us. We went as high octane as possible with this forward group, knowing that the defense will be there to bail them out if they get too greedy in the offensive zone. The creativity and speed on the top 2 lines will help us contend with other high-end units such as Canada, and the United States. With the top 2 lines averaging around 2100 TPE, this might be one of the best forward groups we've had in a long time. We are really excited for our top 6 and think they are ready to compete with every other nation's best. This forward group has a lot of potential;  we think our mix of skill, speed & grit really give us a good shot this tournament.

Defense

S51 - Zlatan Ibrahimovic Jr. @soulja Specters
S55 - Rikard Bjerg @AgentSmith630pride

There aren't many slam dunks when putting together IIHF rosters, so many hockey minds have input in these choices, and everyone sees the game a bit differently. Even with that in mind, we can still see Sweden's defensive pairings are about as much of a no-brainer as there is in this tournament. Make no mistake, the defense will be Sweden's bread and butter in this year's IIHF. The backend has a good mix of being more sturdy in their own end, giving this group a nice balance of risk and reward. Sweden's top-six forward group is set up with speed in mind, so having effective puck movers on the back end is a must.

Goalies

S53 - A Jobin @Jobin Steelhawks
S57 - Jon St. Ark @Arkz Specters

The King Carl faithful have a coin flip for the starter's spot – with 2 goalies coming in around the same TPE- for the first time in a while- Team Sweden will have a goaltending duo. Jobin has extensive international experience, winning medals for his country, and being a mainstay in net for the Tre Koner. While St. Ark might be the newcomer but make no mistake, he is certainly up for the challenge. This is a luxury we are very excited to have and we look forward to seeing how our duo performs in the tourney.

Sweden Heja Sverige! Sweden
