It was a fact coming in we all knew good and well, after a championship campaign by the Newfoundland Berserkers, they would be having three prospects go in the first round, a testament to General Manager Nhamlet and his incredibly scouting team's drafting prowess. What not even they knew for sure is all three of those players would go within the top ten picks themselves, the first time this had ever happened in Newfoundland's illustrious draft history. Let's check these players and the journey they took to reach this selection.

At seventh overall, the San Francisco Pride select Randall Thor... wait you mean it's Rand al'Thor? Shit, ok. An offensive leaning defenseman who still knows his own zone is where he belongs some of the time, he put up an impressive 34 points, leading all rookie blueliners this season and performing admirably. Rumours of a carb connection are abound as he joins the agents Rice and Toast, allegedly forming the soon to be legendary Carb Trio of Rice, Toast and Corn on the Cob.

At eight overall, The Edmonton Blizzard selected Vic Denizova, the incredible two way centreman from Latvia. Rumours of his heritage are all over the place, with some saying the reason Newfoundland drafted him is General Manager Nhamlet is in fact Vic's father. While he was unavailable for comments, he has been seen with Vic's mother, Teresa in public and recently stated in a draft interview that he, and his mother were proud of him. They become the first Zerks to get drafted back to back since Jukka Timonen and Ryuuji Minamino in season 53, one of them going on to have a legendary career and the other being Finnish. Also, he tied for the rookie lead in points or whatever, I guess.

At tenth overall, The Minnesota Monarchs selected Buck Keithly, a fantastic undrafted free agent pick up by the Berserkers mid-season. Buck performed amazingly down the stretch and is generally well loved by any who meet him, truly a terrific man as many can attest. It's a true testament to his character and skill for him to not be drafted and start mid season and come in and be drafted in the top ten selections.

Fun Newfoundland Berserker Facts about this draft:

At 7th and 8th overall, hffo and vic become the 10th and 11th players in Zerk history to be drafted top 8. HFFO becomes the 2nd 7OA (Luffy in S46), and Vic becomes the 2nd 8OA (Kahnwald S56).

HFFO becomes the 5th Zerk drafted to SFP, while Vic becomes the 8th Zerk drafted to EDM

At 10 overall, Buck becomes the 15th zerk to be drafted in the coveted top 10, the first F to do so. He joins Pasta the Turtle and some shitter named Jukka Timonen as 10OA picks in the franchise.

He is the 3rd Zerk to be drafted to PHI in it's short lifespan, joining Ric Charlesworth and Evil Allbran in the S60 entry draft

This trio now becomes the first time in Zerk history that 3 players from the same class have been drafted top 10 in the entry draft
