S39 St. Louis Scarecrow Captains
#1

<div align="center">STL HQ, Scottrade Center, St. Louis, Missouri.

A stadium facility more popular for being the home of the St. Louis Blues, the popular NHL franchise rather than the consistently playoff bound SHL team, the St. Louis Scarecrows. But today a meeting was called, all current STL staff were asked to attend, for there was one matter needed to be discussed.

The captaincy of STL is an eagerly anticipated occurence right after the annual playoff bouncing at the hands of the vastly superior Detroit Falcons. After the flouncing, STL looks forward to the future mainly the captaincy and the pre season proceedings.

STL staff congregated yesterday (26th January) in the Scottrade Center which holds just shy of 20,000 fans on any given gameday. This years vote was a difficult one, all three choices regarding who would be the primary captain and the two alternates would be heavily debatted and discussed.

Heading into the S39 SMJHL season, St Louis has arguably it's strongest squad in the past three seasons with a number of veterans retained from the previous seasons defeat and dissapointment in the post season.

Despite the trials and tribulations of hockey in the minors, St Louis is proud to unveil its captains for the upcoming SMJHL season, without much further ado...

Please welcome your captain for the upcoming season.... Brady McIntyre! (<a href='index.php?showuser=2895' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-62'>caltroit_red_flames</a>)

A prospect entering his second season with the franchise and has from day one largely showed the leadership and integrity needed to captain such an ambitious team from his inagural season. Both a leader on and off the ice, when the team requires an individual capable of pulling up his boot straps in times of need and righting the seasons wrong, McIntyre is exactly the persona capable of such an impressive feat.

St. Louis fans please welcome your alternate captain for S39..... Dermot Lavelle (<a href='index.php?showuser=2815' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-17'>White Cornerback</a>)

Lavelle enters his 3rd season with St. Louis and is just off the success of a 47 point breakout season in S39 for the crows. While not a charismatic or cookie cutter leader, Lavelle has shown glimpses nurturing and developing rookies drafted into the 4 Star Cup hopefulls. A great alternate choice and STL front office will hope for another asipiring season from the soon to be Buffalo man.

Finally, please give a warm welcome to your second alternate..... DeMaricus Smyth (<a href='index.php?showuser=2902' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-17'>Blastmeaway</a>)

Also coming off an impressive rookie season, the impressive winger has been a real leader in the locker room for a team that desperately requires confident and ambitious rookies if they're to have any chance of reaching the 4 Star Cup Finals and making a day of it. The maturity of Smyth on and off the ice, dwarfs in comparison the attitudes of most SMJHL players and even some SHL prospects who have turned their backs on the Scarecrows.

Thank you all for your continued support in the past but we ask that this is replicated in the upcoming season where we will continue from strength to strength in our goal of bringing home another 4 Star Cup, (to match the other 3 in the franchise trophy locker) and establishing a level of success not seen at this franchise since S29!
