#1
(This post was last modified: 11-19-2020, 01:46 AM by TheBigSandeenie.)

11. Jari Heikkinen – D - Citadelles - 302 TPE @Allegiant
5’10” 190lbs
Bank Balance : $38,220,000
Regular Season Stats : 50GP 7G-13A-20P (-5) 58GR
Strengths : Speed(13) Defensive Read(13) Checking(13)
Weaknesses : Shot Blocking(5) Hitting(5)

Jari Heikkinen had a very good rookie season for Quebec posting 20 points on the season and logging 18:45 a game to the tune of a –5 rating. Heikkinen is very capable on both ends of the ice with his best traits being his speed, defensive read, and checking. He did a little bit of everything for the Citadelle's in his rookie campaign getting both powerplay time as well as working on the penalty kill. One of the fastest players in this class, if Heikkinen can improve his handle on the puck a bit and maybe add just a bit more zip on his shot he is going to be a real threat on the powerplay. It wouldn’t be at all surprising to see the name Jari Heikkinen near the top of the scoring leaderboards for defenseman the next couple seasons. The only real knock on his game is you would expect more than 23 blocked shots for a defenseman averaging more than 18 minutes a game. Not being willing to put his body on the line for the good of the team might be a bit of a concern. Then again that could be affected by coaching strategies. Plus, if he keeps scoring like this it likely something you can just live with.

12. Freyja Hellstrom – F - Kraken - 300 TPE @Calliope
5’9” 165lbs
Bank Balance : $1,500,000
Regular Season Stats : 50GP 13G-8A-21P (-5) 58GR
Strengths : Getting Open(13) Stamina(12) Speed(12)Puckhandling(12)
Weaknesses : Shot Blocking(5) Hitting(5) Screening(8)

Freyja Hellstrom had one hell of a rookie year for the Kraken, cracking 21 points highlighted by 13 goals on a terrific 17.57SH%. All that production came at even strength on just over 13 minutes a game. Hellstrom is right on par with Pablo Salvatici in terms of offensive upside and it just so happens that they are the two smallest players listed so far. With a real knack for getting open in the offensive zone, defenders need to make sure they always keep an eye on her. If they don’t, the puck usually ends up in the back of the net. If she can improve her skating from good to great, Freyja is going to be a real nightmare to keep track of.

13. Bas O’Bigbers – F - Berserkers - 291 TPE @Sopath
5’10” 170lbs
Bank Balance : $14,340,000
Regular Season Stats : 50GP 9G-13A-22P (0) 57GR
Strengths : Getting Open(13) Passing(12) Speed(12) Puckhandling(12)
Weaknesses : Screening(5) Shot Blocking(7) Hitting(7)

Hey umm speaking of Hellstrom and Salvatici, meet Bas O’Bigbers the 5’10 170lbs forward of the Newfoundland Berserkers.  Now while it is worth mentioning O’Bigbers is the first player to drop below 300 TPE, he actually scored more points than both of those forwards, showing he can both set up his teammates as well as finish plays himself. Playing just over 12 minutes per game Bas made the most of the ice time he received. Just like Hellstrom O’Bigbers best trait is his ability to get himself open. Where O’Bigbers separates himself is his passing ability which resulted in a solid 13 apples. No matter where he gets drafted it’s clear O’Bigbers will be a key player for Newfoundland for the next couple seasons.

14. Vincent Mieititore – G - Outlaws - 290 TPE @ViN
6’1” 192lbs
Bank Balance : $28,365,000
Regular Season Stats : 36GP  19W-13L-3OTL  3.08GAA  0.900SV%  68GR
Strengths : Reflexes(13) Blocker(13) Glove(13) Positioning(13) Low Shots(13)
Weaknesses : Skating(9) Puckhandling(9) Passing(9)

When I started making this list, I didn’t realize that this draft class was so deep with goalies but Mietitore could end up as the 3rd goalie to go in the first round. Playing for a good Outlaws group, Meititore suited up for many games as rookie and was very successful in those games, posting a very solid record and even breaking the 0.900SV% plateau. Mietitore, the smallest goalie of the top 3, relies on a sound detailed game. While he doesn’t possess any real stand out traits, even his weaknesses are fairly strong.

15. Farely Hank – D - Outlaws - 289 TPE @Beebob
6’7” 232lbs
Bank Balance : $400,000
Regular Season Stats : 50GP 7G-13A-20P (-5) 58GR
Strengths : Passing(13) Puckhandling(13) Shooting Range(13) Defensive Read(13)
Weaknesses : Stick Checking(9) Acceleration(9) Hitting(9)

How big is Farely Hank? Let’s put it this way; he likely couldn’t tell you the last time he wasn’t the biggest player on the ice. At 6’7” and over 230lbs, he is a dominating physical presence just waiting to take over. The thing is Hank only racked up 45 hits and 40 blocked shots over the course of the season. For such a big player you would expect him to make more of a physical impact on the game. Farely Hank is way too skilled for such a big kid and if he can improve his skating, he is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Hank is a bit of a wildcard for me as his player build and season scream a player I could see going very early but, I have a feeling he bank account sitting at $400,000 may scare some teams away.
