Rex Kirkby
@Acsolap

A defensive specialist in STHS, an offensive resurgence in FHM. Rex Kirkby played in both Eras, and thrived in both. One as a defenseman who is a multi Bojo Biscuit winner. The other was one where he put up a lot of points. Drafted back in S43 to the West Kendall Platoon. Kirkby was the 10th OA, and the 2nd defenseman taken in that draft.
Called up in S44, Kirkby had a decent rookie season for a defenseman. Scoring 2 goals, 16 assists for 18 points. He had 44 hits and 55 blocks as well, earning him the Rookie All Star Team.
S55 was no different really, 3 goals, 14 assists for 17 points. S46 is when Kirkby got more ice time, getting 1st line minutes with Ludwig Koch Schroder. With that he was rewarded with a bit more p[oints. 5 goals, 20 assists for 25 points. Getting 53 hits and 55 assists as well.
S46 is also when a new Award came about, the Bojo Biscuit award for best defensive defenseman. It will be an award Kirkby will have intimate contact with soon.

S47 came along though, Kirkby has just gotten better and better. With 11 goals, 22 assists for 33 points, Kirkby also won his first Challenge Cup of his career. With career highs in goals, assists, and shot blocks, Kirkby is setting himself for success.
S48 was a slight downturn, only 11 goals, 18 assists for 29 points. Don't need to go fully into this season

S49 is the first time Kirkby won something. In 50 games played, Kirkby scored 9 goals, 32 assists for 41 points. With a + 21 +./-, 139 hits, and 63 shots blocked, Kirkby won his first Bojo Biscuit Award for best defensive defenseman.

S50 showed another great outing for Kirkby. 8 goals, 36 assists for a career high 44 points. 154 hits and 88 shots blocked, he went to another great. As a reward, he won his 2nd Bojo Biscuit Award, as well as 2nd All Star team too.

S51 was his 3rd B2B2B Bojo Biscuit win. With 10 goals 27 assists for 37 points. He continued his dominance on the defensive side of the game with 152 hits and 93 shots blocked. The first x3 winner of the Bojo Biscuit. Kirkby has shown his defensive prowess during this stretch of time. S52 was the final season of STHS, and his final season on West Kendall. As the final season came and went, Kirkby was sent off to New England in a trade. New England gave up 2 1sts and Delver Fudgeson for Rex Kirkby.

Kirkby stayed in New England for 2 seasons, shifting from being a more defensive defenseman, to trying to chase Alonzo Garbanzo’s point record. Putting up 37 and 39 points respectively in S53 and S54. Kirkby wasnt destined to stay in New England though, as then GM Ace traded Kirkby to New Orleans. The Trade involves New Orleans getting Kirkby and Poroshenko. With New England getting picks and Mithcell Van Der Heijden.
In New Orleans, Kirkby did the same thing as he did in New England. Dominant on the offensive side, as well as putting up a good amount of blocks and hits for FHM. in S55 & S56 Kirkby put up 44 and 33 points respectively. S55 Kirkby got his 1st 1st All Star Team. As well as New Orleans went to the finals, and Kirkby put a ridiculous 15 points in  20 GP, 60 SB, and overall an amazing post season. Unfortunately, New Orleans lost to Buffalo in 7 games, so no 2nd cup for him. Just like New England though, New Orleans wont be his final stop, with after 2 seasons in New Orleans, Kirkby is a free agent.
Signing as a Free Agent to Atlanta, this is where Kirkby stepped up to another gear of his game. S57 showed the first time he was able to get above a PPG. In 62 GP(4 game suspension), Kirkby scored 8 goals, 44 assists for 52 points. Along with 116 hits and a career high 143 shots blocked.

S58 he did even better. With 14 goals, 40 assists for 54 points. 70 hits and 134 SB. Kirkby was nominated for his first and only Scott Stevens. As well as getting another 3rd All Star Team.
S59, Kirkby was traded mid season from Atlanta to Buffalo, as Kirkby’s user got an Expansion team. The Trade involved Atlanta getting prospects Buffalo couldn't protect, with Buffalo getting Kirkby so Buffalo could have a guaranteed pick take in the expansion draft.
So in S59 Kirkby finished with 71 games played, with 12 goals and 36 assists for 48 points. Then, getting taken in the expansion draft to his team, Kirkby found his final resting spot. The last 4 seasons, as Kirkby was heading deeper and deeper into regression, played as much as he could. Final 4 seasons scoring 37,38, 29, and 23 points respectively.
With his career all said and done, he was 2 different players. In STHS, he was a defensive defenseman. A player who won 3 Bojo Biscuits. In FHM, he switched to a more offensive forward, scoring more, eventually getting rewarded with his lone Scott Stevens nomination.
In STHS he played 450GP, 71 goals, 208 assists for 279 points. In FHM he played 663 GP, 98 goals, 336 assists for 434 points.  Making his career be 1113 GP, 169 goals, 544 assists for 713 points.

During his time in FHM he was 8th in defenseman by points, t-4th in assists. For his whole career, when he retired Kirkby was 4th all time in points by a defenseman. Only Ludwig Koch Schroder, Darian Scherbluk, and  Alonzo Garbanzo had more points than Kirkby when he retired.

A player who could play on both sides of the ice, transformed his career and became one of the best defenseman. Consistent year in and year out. That's why he deserved the spot at 32.
