Matiss was introduced to hockey by his dad. His dad grew up playing hockey his entire life and when Matiss was growing up his dad taught him everything that he knows.

Slip McScruff's introduction to hockey was like a lot of things in his life, accidental. He was looking for the secret "adult" channel between channels in his basic cable and stumbled across an SHL game being rebroadcast by his local station. He grabbed the first stick he could find and started whacking pucks in the backyard, and the rest is history.
