My Idea for the next great award in the SHL would be the world heavyweight award. This award would go to the player who finished the regular season holding the fighting championship. Here is how the award would work. In the inaugural season, the award would go to the SHL player who won the most fights in a season. Every season after that, whoever beat the champion in the fight would become the current heavywieght champion until the seasons end, or until that person got beat in a fight. This would be an exciting award that had the possibility to changes hands on a near nightly basis. It would also be the most random and exciting award to keep track of throughout the season. It would be highly random as anyone could win the award. It would also provide a great amount of betting in the sports book category, which all the gamblers would love. This would be a exciting award that fans would love to follow throught thte coarse of the season.

I will not lie, this one is a very hard one to come up with on the fly. This one may seem very random to many, especially because it will not seem to make any sense, but do not worry, because whilst it may not make any sense, I can assure you that it WILL not make any sense.
I introduce to the SHL world: The Aittokallio Family Award This is awarded to the family with the most players bearing the surname of a family name entering the SHL (Note, they would have to have played actual ice time in the SHL, not just the SMJHL). Cousins bearing the same family name also count under the umbrella of the surname. Currently, this would be heald (I pressume) by the Aittokallio family who have 3 players who have played in the SHL. Whilst the Okoli family only have two player bearing its name, I can assure you that there will be plenty more who would look to make their mark in the SHL.
