Hello, so to start this off, Beaver linked king and I an article from ToeDragon last year, in which he compared the first round of the latest draft, and put up the average tpe of each position. The link is here http://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php?tid=79142

So I thought that was very cool,so I said fuck it, and made if for the S43 class, while I have the data and stuff. So similar to Toedragon, it was just (tpe - 155) /days since creation, but instead of days since creation. Im not going to compare toedragons and mine data, as there are too much variables in between it, like we are a reddit draft, and this is only 1 ½ seasons after we started, so there isn't a ton of consistent data.

I did weeks since creation, and linked it to the sunday of that week. So lets say you made a character September 20th, and you were tracking it, I started the days on that sunday, so the 23rd, which is the update day, so it would be more uniform to the updates. But instead of Toedragons format, I am doing tpe/day and just doing it to the whole draft class and compare that

So the format will be
Rank Drafted - Name - TPE/Day

1    Leshaun King    2.78
2    Oliver Kovacs    2.95
3    Luke Thomason    3.34
4    Tig Murphy    3.77
5    Goku Muerto    2.71
6    Lil' Manius    2.84
7    Philipp Winter    3.15
8    Hippo Passamus    3.65
9    Kiko Rytmeyr    2.92
10    Rex Kirkby     3.16
11    Alex Winters    2.95
12    Pierre Laroche-Durocher    2.35
13    Maximillian Egger    2.66
14    Nicky Pedersen Jr.    2.71
15    Kristof Kovacs    2.71

32    Mr. Faceoffs    2.44
33    Sean Stevenson JR    2.97
34    Vladislav Konstantin    2.66
35    Richard Metcalf JR    2.81
36    Adam Taylor    2.73
37    Marc Palicka    1.36
38    Thomas Speardane    1.57
39    Tobias Viklund    1.94
41    jack kennedy    2.53
42    Crush Cile    2.14
43    Gvidas Kazlauskas    2.19
44    Carlo Russo    1.87
45    Aleister Cain    2.47
46    Dank Boija    1.61
47    Veikka Toivanen    1.91
48    Nate Forsberg    0.75
49    David Fantobens    2.09
50    Bust    1.78
51    Petr Vrana    1.78
52    Wolfhard Richter    0.98
53    Jake Reid    0.88
54    Marcel Puhringer    1.30
56    Helmuts Akmenlauks    0.81
57    Ryan Mason    0.94
58    Eero Mäkinen    1.17
59    Callum MacElroy    0.28
60    Nikolaj Boyle    0.95
61    Nathan Cosco    0.68
63    max maudlin    2.23
74    Zakhar Turakov    0.50
75    Jax Aittokallio    2.98

To Start, the Class average of TPE/Day is 2.27
There are 8 players of 3.0 TPE/Day
There are 23 people over 2.5 TPE/Day
There are 19 people over 2.0 TPE/Day
So 50/62 drafted are above 2.0 TPE/Day

*I know I said I wouldnt compare out draft class to Toedragons, but I will for this. For his data, he average tpe for the 1st round is 2.1 tpe/day. The Class average for S43 is 2.27 tpe/day. So just from this, you can tell that this draft class is impressive in that extent*

So One thing to day away from this, is some steal in the class. Looking at the bottom 20 (40-61), Some great steals, are Bust, Petr Vrana, Jack Kennedy, and Aleister Cain, all over 2.2 tpe/day.

Looking at the top 10 drafted, all of them are either in the high 2’s, or above 3.0. What you can also see, is Tig Murphy is killing it in tpe/day, which is a great asset to Hamilton.
Looking at 11-20, the tpe/day can vary a lot. Most can be seen with mid-to-high 2’s, with 1 in the 3’s, with that being Pavel Pivonka. One thing to note, is Johannes Leitner is 1.96, only because he joined so early.

For 20-30, you can see a lot more linear results, with most being around 2.4-2.6 tpe/day. There are a few exceptions with some pushing 3.0 and even a little over 3.0, which is great to the teams that drafted them.

For 30-40, its a lot like the 2nd round, but with a couple lost tpe/day, so they is a clear lack of solid prospects across the board. Thats when good scouting, like with Pride, and some teams lacking the scouting depth, like Minnesota.

So that is a thing to note, that tpe/day is a variable to see how people are doing, but its not the only one true variable to look at. For most people, who joined at trade deadline and at the reddit period, they are great ways to measure yourself to your classmates, but its not the end all be all, especially with growth. People grow at different times, so you might be a late bloomer, like a lot in the later rounds. Like Aleister Cain or Jack Kennedy, who have very high tpe/day, but are still in the middle of the pack in terms of TPE. But for late round picks, that is great to see, and its great for their SHL teams (EDM, and SF respectively)

[Image: gC8Ayn35JxQfYfdjtFadLl_UaB3AprVm4li23rZU...Ceo0nt7GO0]
Putting this data into a graph, shows a pretty linear look at TPE/Day. Nothing surprising happening, just a pretty linear graph. Most people are between 2.0 - 3.0, with a few extremes over 3.0, and a good amount below 2.0 tpe/day.

So lets go team by team and see how they did
The Average TPE/Day for the teams is 2.31, which I will be comparing the teams to it.

Team - Ranked Drafted -  Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
EX. Buffalo Stampede   - 8  -  2   - Hippo Passamus    3.65

Green for Below 2.0
Blue for Above 2.0
Red for Above 2.5
Orange for Above 3.0

BUFFALO

Buffalo Stampede   - 8  -  2   - Hippo Passamus    3.65
Buffalo Stampede   - 28 -   9   - Cedric robinson    2.99
Buffalo Stampede   - 50  -  47 -   Bust    1.78
Team Average: 2.81 TPE/Day

So Buffalo drafted 3 players, and they are doing very well considering where they were drafted. Hippo is doing great, being 2nd highest tpe/day, along with Cedric, pushing 2.99 tpe/day getting drafted 28th OA. Bust, with 1.78, but to put into context, bust created early, so the numbers are kinda skewed, but its still a solid pick at #50 in the draft.

The average TPE/Day for Buffalo is 2.81, which is great comparing to the class average of 2.27 tpe/day. The Average per Team is 2.32 TPE/Day, so compared to Buffalos 2.81, they did great against the team average. Kudos to the scouting team for picking 3 solid players

CALGARY

Team - Rank drafted - Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
Calgary Dragons  -  14 -   23 -   Nicky Pedersen Jr.    2.71
Calgary Dragons  -  42 -   41  -  Crush Cile    2.14
Calgary Dragons  -  56 -   58  -  Helmuts Akmenlauks    0.81
Team Average: 1.89 TPE/Day

Now for TPE/Day, Calgary is getting pretty screwed in this aspect. Their average tpe/day is 1.89, so compared to 2.31, its very lackluster. But they have a great player in Nicky Pedersen JR, and Crush Cile is in the middle of the pack tpe wise. Helmuts Akmenlauks is a late bloomer, and a slow tpe earner, so he drags the TPE/Day down for Calgary.

This is a pretty average to below average draft for Calgary, nothing much to say.

EDMONTON
Team - Rank drafted - Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
Edmonton Blizzard  -  25  -  5  -  Tony Pepperoni    3.17
Edmonton Blizzard  -  36  -  21  -  Adam Taylor    2.73
Edmonton Blizzard  -  45  -  32  -  Aleister Cain    2.47
Team Average 2.79 tpe/day

Looking at the Edmontons draft picks, everyone went up. Give credit to their scouting team because drafting Tony Pepperoni is looking great, with #5 tpe/day at 3.17, and also Adam Taylor, being with 2.73 tpe/day in the 3rd round. And Aleister Can being 2.47 tpe/day at 45th!
Their Team Average is 2.79 tpe/day, and compared to the league average of 2.31 tpe, and also comparing what draft picks they have, they hit a home run in my books.

HAMILTON

Team - Rank drafted - Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
Hamilton Steelhawks  -  4 -   1   - Tig Murphy    3.77
Hamilton Steelhawks  -  17  -  15   - Andrew Martin    2.91
Hamilton Steelhawks  -  12  -  36 -   Pierre Laroche-Durocher    2.35
Hamilton Steelhawks  -  54   -52  -  Marcel Puhringer    1.30
Team Average: 2.58 tpe/day

Looking at their 4 draft picks,I can see 1 bad player, and 1 overvalued player. But lets start with the 2 great players they drafted in Tig Murphy and Andrew Martin. Hamilton picked the best Defenseman in the draft, period. Having 3.77 tpe/day is the highest out of the draft class, and picking Andrew is great for the rank he was picked. For PLD, and Marcel on the other hand, they both are failing the expectations of TPE/Day, but that could just be they arent a high tpe earners, and could be good later, but with this variable, they arent good.

Their Team average 2.58 compared to the league average, 2.31, means, they are above league average, so Teddy, good job.

LOS ANGELES

Team - Rank drafted - Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
Las Angeles Panthers  -  7 -   7    - Philipp Winter    3.15
Las Angeles Panthers   - 21   - 29  -  Marco Raanteli     2.55
Las Angeles Panthers  -  63  -  38   - max maudlin    2.23
Las Angeles Panthers  -  43   - 40   - Gvidas Kazlauskas    2.19
Team Average: 2.53 TPE/Day

Wasty and his scouting team did a good job with picking their players to draft. LA is one of the teams that picked the best in the draft, and this is showing it. With their players being around the tpe/day they are expected to be, or lower, like Max Mauldin. All of their players are averaging over 2.0 tpe/day, with Phillip Winters one of 8 people over 3.0.  Their team average, 2.53 is higher than the league average, so this is a major win for LA. From what it looks like, all 4 prospects should get to the SHL in the next couple seasons for LA.

MANHATTAN

Team - Rank drafted - Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
Manhattan Rage  -  75  -  10  -  Jax Aittokallio    2.98
Manhattan Rage  -  2    -12   - Oliver Kovacs    2.95
Manhattan Rage  -  11  -  13  -   Alex Winters    2.95
Manhattan Rage  -  15  -  22   - Kristof Kovacs    2.71
Manhattan Rage   - 30  -  30  -  Craig Finely    2.55
Manhattan Rage  -  24  -  35  -  Sulak O'Hritea    2.44
Manhattan Rage  -  39  -  44  -  Tobias Viklund    1.94
Manhattan Rage   - 57   - 56  -  Ryan Mason    0.94
Manhattan Rage   - 53    -57  -  Jake Reid    0.88
Team Average: 2.26

The TPE/Day isnt well for Manhattan, but they got some great draft picks for this class. Great people LIke Jax, Oliver, Alex, and Kristof, maintain a high tpe/day for the team, and should be solid in the future. But what this shows, is that there would be better players at the rank for MAN to pick up. Craig Finely is on par with the class, as well as Sulak. Their last 3 picks in Tobias Viklund, Ryan Mason, and jake Reid arent looking too hot for this ranking

Their team Average of 2.26 is slightly below average for the league average, but it is nothing to worry about from them

MINNESOTA

Team - Rank drafted - Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
Minnesota Chief   -  19  -  39  -  Eero Niemi    2.23
Minnesota Chief    - 38  -  50  -  Thomas Speardane    1.57
Minnesota Chief   -  37  -  51  -  Marc Palicka    1.36
Minnesota Chief   -  61  -  60  -   Nathan Cosco    0.68
Team Average: 1.46

I don't know what happened to Minnesota i this draft, of course they didnt have the best picks for the draft, but compared to where other people were drafted, they performed way below average compared to other teams. The only good tpe/day player from the draft is Eero Niemi with 2.23 tpe/day, which is under the average TPE for player, and for the team, they are almost 1.0 Tpe/day below the league average. One word I can sum it up with, is OOF.

NEW ENGLAND

Team - Rank drafted - Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
New England WolfPack   - 13   - 25   - Maximillian Egger    2.66
New England WolfPack  -  16   - 43  -  Johannes Leitner    1.96
Team Average: 2.31

Uh, for me there isnt a lot to say for new england. It looks like for their 2 draft picks, they knew who they wanted and got them, even though they should have been drafted in the later 2nd to 3rd rounds. Egger is performing well in TPE/Day, being above 2.5, and Leitner almost at 2.0 tpe/day is alright. But leitner suffers from creating very early for the draft, but Leitner is in the middle of the pack for goalies. Their team average 2.31 is the league average, so it will be interesting to see how they will be in a couple seaons

SAN FRANCISCO

Team - Rank drafted - Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
San Francisco Pride   - 3   - 3   - Luke Thomason    3.34
San Francisco Pride   - 33   - 11  -  Sean Stevenson JR    2.97
San Francisco Pride   - 31   - 16  -  Vince Rieper    2.87
San Francisco Pride   - 35   - 18  -  Richard Metcalf JR    2.81
San Francisco Pride   - 1   - 19   - Leshaun King    2.78
San Francisco Pride  -  5   - 24   - Goku Muerto    2.71
San Francisco Pride  -  26  -  27  -  Jeff Brogen     2.65
San Francisco Pride  -  41   - 31  -  jack kennedy    2.53
San Francisco Pride   -   29    - 37  -  Stephen Moyer    2.27
San Francisco Pride   - 44   - 46  -  Carlo Russo    1.87
San Francisco Pride    - 51   - 48 -   Petr Vrana    1.78
San Francisco Pride    - 58   - 53 -   Eero Mäkinen    1.17
Team Average: 2.48 tpe/day

There is a lot to unpack here. To start off, Almost everyone drafted are above 2.5 tpe/day, with a couple in the very high 2’s, and 1 over 3.0. Even though, looking at rank drafted, to tpe/day ranked, they arent looking great, but again, just like MAN, they knew what kind of team they wanted, and went out and got it, even though they weren't the best player available, they will still be a great player. A few surprise players that are doing great, are Sean Steven jr, Vince Reiper, Richard Metclaf jr, and Jack Kennedy, outperforming expectations, so Kudos to their scouting team for that.

Their team Average of 2.48 is slightly higher than the league average, so thats a plus for them, especially with drafting so many players. In a couple seasons, SF will be a very young team in the SHL, and a couple seasons after, a very deadly one.
SEATTLE

Team - Rank drafted - Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
Seattle Riot   - 18  -  4  -  Pavel Pivonka    3.28
Seattle Riot   - 27 -   20 -   Mason Hudson     2.75
Seattle Riot   - 47   - 45 -   Veikka Toivanen    1.91
Seattle Riot  -  59   - 62  -  Callum MacElroy    0.28
Team Average: 2.05

I would compare Seattle to Hamilton, with 2 great draft picks, 1 pretty good draft pick, and 1 bust. Their home urns are Pavel Pivonka and mason hudson, who are doing great compared to where they were drafted, and their TPE are middle-to-higher tpe compared to the rest of the draft class. Veikka Toivanen is doing well for where he was drafted, so we will have to see where he will be in a couple of season. Callum MacElroy, bring down their team average by alot, with their team average being 2.05, well below the league average. But dont be fooled, they picked 2 great stars.

TEXAS

Team - Rank drafted - Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
Texas Renegades -   9  -  14 -   Kiko Rytmeyr    2.92
Texas Renegades -   34  -  26   - Vladislav Konstantin    2.66
Texas Renegades  -  23 -   28  -  Kevin Kazarian    2.59
Texas Renegades  -  49 -   42   - David Fantobens    2.09
Team Average: 2.56 TPE/Day

Texas drafted well, and they also picked up David Fantobens off of a trade with WKP, which makes their S43 draft class one of the top class teams. Now they dont have a lot of well known names from the draft, but they made up with it, with drafting great players. Vladislav Konstantin has been a great draft pick for them, as well as everyone in their draft class is over 2.0 tpe/day, and ¾ are above 2.5.

Their average tpe, 2.56, is great compared to other teams, and we will see most of them up in the SHL in a couple seasons. Either that or great trading pieces to add onto trades.

TORONTO

Team - Rank drafted - Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
Toronto North Stars  -  32 -   34  -  Mr. Faceoffs    2.44
Toronto North Stars  -  46  -  49  -  Dank Boija    1.61
Toronto North Stars   - 52 -   54  -  Wolfhard Richter    0.98
Toronto North Stars  -  60  -  55   - Nikolaj Boyle    0.95
Toronto North Stars  -  74  -  61   - Zakhar Turakov    0.50
Team Average: 1.29 tpe/day

Just like Minnesota, I dont like a lot of draft picks Toronto picked. Now granted, with their draft picks, they didnt have a lot left to pick, so I think getting Mr. Facesoffs and Dank Boija are great for Toronto, and for me, the only 2 players that have a shot in the SHL. Their team average is below 1.0 tpe/day than the average, so I dont see Toronto restocking on prospects this draft.

WEST KENDALL

Team - Rank drafted - Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
West Kendall Platoon  -  10 -   6 -   Rex Kirkby     3.16
Team average: 3.16

Now you cant really compare WK to any other team, seeing they only drafted 1 player, but they drafted one of the best defenseman in the draft, so this is a win for them. They are way higher in team average than the league average, so their 1 draft pick is a home run for them

WINNIPEG

Team - Rank drafted - Ranked TPE/Day - Name - TPE/Day
Winnipeg Jets   - 22 -    8  -   Nicholas Williams    3.00
Winnipeg Jets   - 6   - 17  -  Lil' Manius    2.84
Winnipeg Jets    - 20  -  33 -   Ignatius Blunt    2.45
Winnipeg Jets   -  48   - 59  -  Nate Forsberg    0.75
Team Average: 2.26 tpe/day

Other than Nate Forsberg, I really like how Winnipeg drafted. They got a great pick in the 2nd round with Nicholas Williams and Ignatius Blunt, and a great 1st round pick in Lil Manius. Nicholas Williams is one of the most surprising one to me, having 3.0 tpe/day, which for where he was drafted, is a great steal in the 2nd round. If you dont include nate Forsberg, they would have one of the best draft class, and stocked up well in prospects.

I hope you guys enjoyed this, and looking at S43 draft class and their average tpe/day, it took me a lot of time to gather the data in order to present it to you guys. Thank you for reading/Skimming. I should have my mid season rankings for the S43 and S44 class up next week

(3,033 words, plus a lot of time researching and gathering the data)

Oh yeah, here is the ranking for TPE/Day

5    Tony Pepperoni    3.17
