Tom Fiddler is deathly afraid of belts. So much so that he doesn't own a single one, as you might imagine someone with a belt phobia might not. Instead he wears suspenders when possible. Thankfully, hockey has little to do with belts, but it did crush his dreams of becoming a WWE wrestler. He is afraid because of a traumatic experience when he was younger. Frequently, Papa Fiddler would come home drunk, demanding to know who put holes in his belt. "WHO PUT THESE HOLES IN MY BELT??" he would scream. Removing his belt and folding it in the usual way (buckle in hand, thankfully), he would start whipping everything in the room. The chair, the walls, the lamp. Poor fiddler could do nothing but endure the onslaught of nearby-belt-cracking, the wind from such blows nearly tussling his hair astray. Tom Fiddler never learned who put those holes in his daddys belt, but he hoped some day he would catch the bastard. |
