They hadn't lost them though had they? They can always win the bidding process. Seems like a massive over reach by the owners to circumvent HO decision making. Considering this rule was followed by 19/20 SHL teams it's a bit weak to make an exception.
This is the part I don't get, the rules clearly state they go to bidding. Any team can bid, but that's supposed to be the consequence of not getting your draftees signed by the deadline. Seems black and white to the most of us.
