SMJHL GM Senior Member Code: 2. Written, 3 TPE, GM stands for Great Man (150 words min.) 2 - 3 TPE I’m gonna shout out Jax @SecondSucks22 and Jess @sköldpaddor here. They dragged Nevada from the depths of the SMJHL kicking and screaming to a team that won their first ever playoff series against GFG and almost upset 1st seed Vancouver this playoffs. The peak is this coming season. All of the players from the legendary S60 entry draft will be on their last season and its do or die time before the plunge back to the J basement. The legend of JLC will be missed but a few good picks from last seasons draft (including LEG) will be much better this season and help fill the gaps left over by JLC and Harrier. Nevada's S60 class will go down in franchise and Js history as one of the best of all time. And rumor has it that Jess has discovered some new FHM exploits that have yet to be found by Hamilton or Newfoundland or any of the other dynasties. Code: 6. Love this. Why would have a team in Hamilton? They should be moved to Mexico City and play in the Azteca stadium, the Mexican international teams and America FC’s home stadium. With what technology is able to accomplish these days in Tottenham’s stadium in London and the renovations to the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid. You could pump billions into a brand new mega Azteca stadium to support soccer, American football, basketball, and hockey. d. Gunnar Soderberg. Dude is a legend. I know he’s not flashy on the stat sheet, but what he brings to a team in the intrinsic values of leadership and discipline. Chicago was always in the running with him playing and he will be sorely missed. He was a great SHLer and it’ll be exciting to see where is kid goes to this offseason. Code: 12. Milestones, up to 3 TPE 12 - Milestones 3 TPE Code: 13. Written, 3 TPE, Parody (150 words min.) 13 - 3 TPE A fourth line. Teams like Hamilton are so good because they only need 9 offensive skaters. There needs to be trade offs when creating a roster. Having good players on the same line should create holes on other lines. Good teams only need 9 good offensive players. Then their rosters have no holes. You force GMs to have a fourth line that has to be set to a required minimum minutes. Of course players are going to complain when they have 7 minutes of ATOI, then put in the time to get your TPE up so your not a fourth liner. Would you rather play on a fourth line or watch Hamilton win every season? Plus with the new regression changes wouldn't you rather be called up a little earlier from the Js? On second thought I just became a J co-GM so don't do this idea. I want my players as long as I can keep 'em. Code: 14. Written, 3 TPE, Blow it up (150 words min.) 14 - 3 TPE New England. For two seasons now they’ve been third fiddle to Hamilton and Buffalo. If New England was in any other division they would be division winners. I don’t see Hamilton or Buffalo ever being bad, so New England is going to have to start being ruthless. Start running scripts. Only draft Checking, Balance and Speed. Force Takeways and bully the other team. I think @"luketd" is going to blow it up. Take a season or two and rebuild New England to unseat Hamilton and Buffalo. The new management will bring a new look on how to do things. Luke is dedicated and old guard. He's ready for the toughest challenge yet in the SHL to take out Hamilton and Buffalo in their own division. It'll start possibly this draft with some wicked trades. Then wait for next season when every recreates due to regression changes. It really is a long game Luke it playing here. Code: 15. Written, 2 TPE, The yearly IIHF task (100 words min.) 15 - 2 TPE I think Finland and Norway are having resurgences and it’s almost come out of no where. For the past few seasons Great Britain and Japan have been dominant, but I think both are on the decline at least for a season or two. But Finland has been strong in the WJC for a few seasons now and those players will come up soon. Norway has been a underdog in the last few seasons of IIHF and deserve a medal soon. As for USA and Canada? Who knows? It’s weird that the teams with the largest player pools seem to struggle. Great Britain will slide for a season or two, but I think they will bounce right back. 16/16 |
