TASK 4- Road to the cup
The Renegades had an excellent season, finishing 2nd in the tough Western Conference, after a disappointing season last year where they failed to qualify for the playoffs. They started out the season strong and only got better following a trade in the first quarter of the season. They shipped off defenseman Zarins, and brought in the young Maxim Horvat. He was able to fit in to their defense corps quite well and help them on the backend, providing more speed and puck handling ability. They were led by veteran forwards Jordan Hall, Chico Salmon, and Shawn Velevra up who all had career years for the club scoring at least 40 points each. They were anchored by Chris Partlow and Jim Lahey on defense, with arguably the best goaltender of the season, Jordin Fourfour, backstopping them. Fourfour had an unbelievable year posting a 1.98 GAA with 6 shutouts to go along with it, proving that he is one of the greatest goalies in the game today. Their road to the Championships would not be an easy one though. In the first round they had to face their rivals the Los Angeles Panthers. I was a close season that the Renegades managed to win with a 4-1 victory although the games were much closer than the series would imply. In the 2nd round they had to face a surprising opponent in the Winnipeg Jets, who were fresh off a sweep of the Western conference champion Seattle Riot. The Renegades would be up for a challenge facing off against the defending Challenge Cup champions, led by goaltender Lauris Prikulis. They would have to find a way to crack the goaltender who posted 3 shutouts in his 4 games against the Riot. The renegades found a way though and they took it to the Jets in a heated battle that saw them win the series with another 4-1 result. The Renegades were able to take down the defending champs in a convincing fashion and now they must face the perennial Eastern Powerhouse, the Hamilton Steelhawks. Their road to the cup however is just beginning as they still have 4 more games between them and their destiny.

TASK 5- MVP of the playoffs
When looking to find the MVP this post season for the Texas Renegades, you go to their leader on the back end. Chris Partlow is the back bone to the Renegades team, they go as he goes, and so far he is destroying the competition in the playoffs. Partlow leads his team from the backend. He runs their power play with his superior sense and puck handling skills at the blue line. So far this post season he is leading the team with power play goals, utilizing his cannon of a slap shot from the point. He is also the teams overall point leader so far in the playoffs with 18 points, including 5 goals and leading the team with 13 assists. He is excellent at moving the puck up the ice to his team and transitioning to attacking his opponents. Partlow isn’t just the team’s offensive backbone, but he is their defensive leader as well. He leads all players on the Renegades with 30 blocked shots this post season. This surely makes Fourfour’s job a lot easier as he sees less pucks each game as well. He isn’t afraid to sacrifice his body for the team’s success, which makes him a true leader and an excellent team mate. He also ranks 2nd amongst the team with 47 hits. With all the skill in his game, he is still not afraid to get physical and crush some scrubs into the boards when the time is right. Even more importantly he stays out of the penalty box when he gets physical. He doesn’t put his team on the penalty kill with his extremely disciplined play. That’s a big reason he eats up the big minutes when he play logging an average of 29 minutes per game. The coaches know he is the most valuable player on the team and they definitely reward him by keeping him on the ice all game. Chris Partlow is the undisputed MVP of the playoffs this season, without him the Texas Renegades would be lost on the ice, he is a true leader in every aspect of the game.

Task 6- Underrated stud
When playing in Texas it is easy to stand in the shadows of the all-stars, as they are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas. Among them there is one player who finds his way to break through when it matters most, and that player is Alexandre Daigle. He isn’t one of the Renegades top line players, however he has made a name for himself this post season making big plays when the moment counts. While not the most prominent scorer on the team, having only 6 goals this post season, he makes them count. Daigle leads the team with 3 game winning goals along with 1 game tying goal. He has been the Renegades most clutch player in the playoffs and has scored the big time goals for his team leading them to several victories and getting them back in games on the rare occasion they were down. When he wasn’t busy scoring big goals, he was playing solid defensive hockey, maintaining a positive plus minus and racked up a respectable 31 hits. More impressively was his shooting percentage in the playoffs. He has made his chances count, converting 26% of his shots on goal as points on the scoreboard, which is an insane amount of accuracy for the young sniper. He has been a tremendous depth player for the Renegades and he has made the opposing teams pay for overlooking him when he’s had the puck. When the playoffs are over Daigle should finally get the recognition he deserves. He has been a dependable forward for the club and has contributed consistently as well. He is still a young player in the league, but he has elevated his game at the right time. He is using this opportunity to show everyone what he is capable of when he is on the ice. The Renegades can always count on Daigle to step it up when they need him. Although he may not be the first person to come to mind when you think of a Renegade, he is earning his way into the hearts of the fans watching at home for the Renegade’s cup run.

TASK 7- Motivational speech
We have been here before and we are back again boys, this is our time, this is our cup. These Renegays aren’t going to stand in our way of destiny. It is time for redemption, right here right now. We have worked too damn hard and come to damn far to lose this again. We are not going to have another locker room crying session when this is over we are going to finally hoist that cup and return to our former glory. Nothing can stop us, feel the roar of the crowd, hear them chanting your names. When the wind blows hard and the sky is black, Steelhawks fly together! I mean seriously, fucking Texas? Only steers and queers come from Texas, boys, and they don't look much like steers to me, so let’s go out there and kick some Renegay’s ass. Now let’s get out there and soar to great highs, fucking rights boys.

TASK 3

TASK 4

TASK 5
The Steelhawks have come a long way. Although they've seen success before this season, they had a chance to top that with a championship win. And they have their entire roster to thank for that, but one player in particular has gotten them to this point: Joe McKeil. Obviously, he would be the MVP of the team as he led the team in points and is second in scoring in the playoffs right now. However, no one else has eclipsed the amount of work this man has done. 25 goals, 35 assists and a +/- of 26 proves how productive he is offensively. His physical presence is also felt, leading the team with 177 hits. The Steelhawks were at the top of their conference to finish the season, and Joe McKeil is definitely carrying a lot of the recognition for that achievement. In the playoffs, he hasn't been equally as productive, garnering just 4 goals and 7 assists in his 14 games played and obtaining a +/- of 4. However, he was still contributing and although the team fell short in the end, the Steelhawks still leaned on him to get them past their first two rounds and into the finals. It hasn't only been this season that McKeil has been the MVP for his Steelhawks. In season 19, he scored 30 goals and 31 assists, leading the team in points like he did this year, and obtaining a +/- of 29, and was even more productive in the playoffs with 5 goals and 13 assists. Although the Steelhawks fell short that season as well, again they had to thank to McKeil for his hard work in getting them into the finals. But again, it doesn't just stop there either. Season 18, McKeil scored 24 goals and 35 assists, yet again leading the team in points and with a +30 rating. His production dropped off in the playoffs, scoring just 1 goal and 3 assists as Hamilton was eliminated in the first round in 7 games. But, it shows that McKeil has long been putting up superstar numbers, and that the Steelhawks value him as their star player to build the rest of the roster around him.

TASK 6

TASK 7
In the Steelhawks' locker room...
This is it, boys. This is what we've been fighting for this whole year. A chance to win the cup. We've gone through hardships, ups and downs, and really shitty situations, but we've gotten through them, and we're going to get through this. Game 7 overtime doesn't come around often, but right now it's here and we've gotta play like it's our lives on the line out there. Eddy has made some outstanding saves tonight, and it's up to us to reward his hard work. It only takes one simple play, one simple good play to win the game and the cup for us. One of us can be the hero, and make us all champions. So let's go out there, play our hardest, and make those simple plays. We will NOT leave this arena empty-handed!

Task 1: Renegades in 6

Task 2: [Image: GX6VpsW.jpg]

Task 3: [Image: V7BAZxY.jpg]

Task 4: The Hamilton Steelhawks had quite the season, and it would not have been the same, were it not for a few changes.

From the S20 SHL Entry Draft, there was only one rookie who made the opening night roster. That rookie was fourth overall pick, Friedrich Muller. He was a rookie who came into the SHL with high expectations. Known as a person who loved to interact with others, he was sure to be a fan favourite. Muller was able to grow under the watchful eye of Jareth Sto Helit, who was completing their SHL swan song. The Steelhawks management were hoping that the pairing of Sto Helit - Muller would be beneficial for him, and would help speed up his development as both Schultz and Sto Helit were set to retire.

During the season, the Steelhawks completed several trades in order to bolster their lineup. With the knowledge of the upcoming retirement of their defensive core, team management decided that it was best to give up future draft picks in order to help aid their current defensive depth. From Edmonton, the Steelhawks managed to acquire OJ Simpson. The Steelhawks then sent Alens Paurs away, in another deal with the Blizzard. In this deal, they were able to trade for Chris Serpe.

The team management also decided that it would be a smart idea to help bolster their offensive troops. They sent a pack of draft picks to the Chiefs and acquired prospect Jacob Cunningham. The team then sent over a duo of picks and depth players Michael Stich and Matej Stransky to Manhattan in exchange for Arthurs Grosberg. The latter was thought to be a huge acquisition for the team.

With the incredible development of Magnus Jakobsen, the steady play of Brandon Cant, and the still dominant Joe McKeil, the Steelhawks were able to secure the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Not only that, they were once again the winners of the Presidents Trophy, finishing with the best overall record in the league. It should also be noted that Magnus Jakobsen had a tremendous breakout season and will probably be hoping to take home some hardware at season's end.

The Steelhawks dispatched the Platoon in a four game sweep in the opening round of the playoffs. Afterward, they defeated the New England Wolfpack in five games. The East was theirs. The only thing standing in their way were the Texas Renegades. One of these teams would not be denied a championship.

Task 5: The team MVP for the Texas Renegades easily goes to Chris Partlow. In my opinion, there is no other player on the team who should even be considered for the award. Partlow was a stud on defence during the regular season, for the Renegades, and he was at it again during the playoffs. We'll compare his stats during his team's playoff run to support this argument.

Partlow was tied with Velevra for fourth in goals scored with five. Not bad numbers considering the team high was seven. For a defender to place so highly is a testament to his offensive power. With only sixteen games played, Partlow was scoring at nearly one goal every three games, on average.

Secondly, Partlow ranked first on the team in assists. The star defender was able to accumulate almost an assist per game, with thirteen, during the team's run to the Cup. Second on the team, in this category, were Velevra and Byrde, each with twelve. As you can see, Partlow is not quite the clear cut MVP as of yet. His goals and assists totals were good enough for first on the team in points.

In addition to Partlow's offensive efficiency, he also exhibited an excellent ability to play good defensive hockey. He placed second on the team in hits, with forty-seven, only behind Jordan Hall's sixty. The next highest hits total belong to Partlow's defence partner, Jim Lahey. In terms of shots blocked, Partlow was tied for the team lead with Xavier Gauthier, accumulating an impressive thirty shots blocked over sixteen games. As you can see, Partlow excelled for the Renegades from a defensive perspective as well.

The combination of his offensive and defensive efforts led to a very respectful +10, which was second only to his aforementioned defence partner. Partlow also finished second on the team in game winning goals scored with three; behind, only, the surprising Alex Daigle. The final "nail in the coffin", I guess, would be the amount of times Chris Partlow had ended up being one of the three stars in his team's games. Partlow was the first star twice, and was one of the other stars a total of three more times. His five appearances as a star in the game was tops on his team, and should be noted.

For these reasons, I think that Chris Partlow was Texas' MVP in the playoffs.

Task 6: On a team filled with many outstanding players, it was really hard, for me, to decide on an underrated player. However, I believe I've found the true diamond in the rough, for the Texas Renegades. Xavier Gauthier played noticeably well, despite not being one of the more popular players on the team. In fact, if you survey they players in the league, very few people would probably even know he exists. Gindicateauthier was tied for seventh on the team in goals. However, with three goals during the team's playoff run, he isn't far behind the team high of seven goals. He was tied for the team lead in power play goals, with all of his three goals coming on the man advantage. While some may see this as Gauthier not being a good even strength player, others may view it as him being able to be an opportunist. A title he fulfills greatly.

In addition to his offensive output, Gauthier was also able to stand out on the defensive end. Players on opposing teams got to know him really well, as he dished out the fourth highest hits total on the Renegades, with thirty. He threw his body around and was a big presence. He was also defensively aware of situations in his own end, as he knew how to get in the shooting lanes. Gauthier had the highest amount of shots blocked on the team, with thirty. This, to me, is very impressive considering there are great two-way defenders on the Renegades such as Lahey and Partlow.

Some may argue that the fact that Gauthier had the second lowest plus minus rating on his team, might indicate his inefficiency while playing five on five, I believe his play on the power play and penalty kill are good enough to consider him to be the best underrated player on the Renegades.

Another aspect which is interesting is that for the amount of minutes Gauthier played, he put up respectable numbers. He was on pace to maybe get the same production as Jim Lahey, if he had played the same amount of minutes. This leaves us to think, what kind of playoffs would Gauthier have had if he played on the first line? On the one hand, he could have suffered, playing against better opponents, but on the other hand, there is the possibility that he could have dominated. Of course, we'll never know. But it is a nice thing to think about.

Task 7: We've got one chance. One chance to reach legendary status. Isn't that the dream? To have your name live on, long after you're gone? This is our chance to do it. This is our chance to show everyone, that what we did this season wasn't a fluke. It was our plan, slowly taking form. Now that we're in the finals, in game seven, there's only one thing in the way from us becoming legends. Let's go out there and beat these guys, these guys who don't care about winning as much as we do. Guys that don't think about the championship more than we do. Is there a reason for them to beat us? No. Are you worried that they might? Cuz I'm not. They wanna win this, because they worked hard. We need to win this, because that's what we were born to do. This mindset is the difference between winning and losing, game seven. Now who's with me?

Task 2: [Image: zJ419J1.jpg?1]

Task 3: [Image: 9s9XboP.jpg?1]

Task 4:
Hamilton's road to the cup was a much smoother road than the Renegade's. Hamilton faced much easier competition in the East, and easily soared to the President's Trophy. Based off regular season points, every single western team would have made the playoffs if they were placed in the Eastern conference. In fact, two teams that made the playoffs in the East didn't even win half of their games. Those two teams also happen to be the two teams that Hamilton faced in the playoffs before facing off against Texas. First, Hamilton faced West Kendall, who had a 21-20-9 record on the season. Hamilton easily swept West Kendall in four games. Next, Hamilton faced New England, who had a somewhat better record of 24-22-4. To give you some numbers for comparison, the Calgary Dragons (who got last in the west) had a record of 24-20-6. New England put up a little bit more of a fight against Hamilton, but the Steelhawks still won in only 5 games.

While the Eastern Conference is rather weak with several rebuilding teams, Hamilton still has a very skillful team. By far, their best player is their captain, S19 MVP Joe McKeil. He scored the most points in S19 and S20, while taking his team to the playoffs two seasons in a row. His award resume has quickly built up, and it is certain the McKeil will make the Hall of Fame once he retires. McKeil is an old and experienced player, but he continues to dominate the league. Another big part of Hamilton's team is their goaltender, Edwin Ask. One-time winner of the John McBride Trophy and two-time winner of the Mike Honcho Award, Ask is one of the elite goaltenders in the SHL. This season, Ask had the most wins out of any goalie and was top 5 in goals against average, and shutouts. However, Ask really shined during the playoffs. He was second out of any goalie for every single major statistic, including but not limited to, save percentage, goals against average, minutes played, shots faced, wins, and shutouts.

Hamilton's road to the cup was short and sweet, but untested. When they finally faced a tough opponent in Texas, they didn't have the answers. Their star players played well but after six games Texas lifted the cup and Hamilton was left wondering what they could've done better.

Task 5:
With stars such as Shawn Velevra, Jordan Hall, Chris Partlow, and Lionel Byrde it can be really hard to decide who is the most valuable player for the Texas Renegades. All of these star players were keys to Texas making the Challenge Cup and eventually lifting it, but there is one player who stands above the rest. That player is their goaltender, Jordin FourFour. FourFour has been the starting goalie for the Renegades for four seasons now (actually five but four) and has been great since day one. However, this season was by far his greatest season yet. He lead the league in save percentage with a 92.5%, he lead the league in goals against average with a 1.98 average, and he lead the league in shutouts with 6 shutouts. He also faced the second most shots out of any goaltender in the league, and was third in wins with 27 wins. Those were just his regular season stats. In the playoffs, FourFour's success continued even now that he faced much more difficult opponents. He was third in save percentage with a 90.9%, and third in goals against average with a 2.3 average. He also played the most minutes, faced the most shots, and won the most games in the playoffs before finally lifting the Challenge Cup.

Lauris Prikulis won the Challenge Cup last season and was widely regarded as perhaps the greatest goaltender of the league. However, FourFour proved the critics wrong when Texas went up against the Jets in the Western Conference Final. FourFour was the Renegade's rock throughout that tough series, and they couldn't have beaten the reigning champions without great performances from FourFour. While FourFour is widely regarded as one of the best goaltenders or an elite goaltender, I think it is fair to call him the best goaltender of the league after the last couple seasons. He is practically a shoe-in to win the S20 John McBride Trophy, and I will be surprised if he doesn't grab another few trophies while he is at it. FourFour is the most consistent goaltender in the league, and one of the few who can play well in high-pressure situations. For those reasons, Jordin FourFour is the most valuable player of the Texas Renegades.

Task 6:

The Hamilton Steelhawks have several great superstars on offense, defense, and in net. With so many great players, there will often be a player or two who may go unnoticed and become underappreciated by hockey fans. During these S20 playoffs, their underrated player was none other than star center David Winter. With Joe McKeil, perhaps the greatest center of SHL history, it is very to overlook the second line center. However, with Winter is so skillful that he could easily be a first line center on almost any other team. He is no doubt a top 5 center out of the entire league. During these playoffs, it can easily be argued that Winter actually outperformed McKeil. It isn't that McKeil had poor playoffs, in fact he played great. He scored 4 goals and had 7 assists for a total of 11 points in 14 games. He also lead the team in faceoff percentage, and was very helpful for the team's defense and penalty kill. While those stats are impressive, and very acceptable of any superstar in high pressure situations such as the playoffs, Winter actually put up much better numbers. He scored two more goals and one more assist and was the only Steelhawk to score 14 points in 14 games or a minimum of 1 point per game. He lead the team in goals, assists, and points during the playoffs. He also managed a 14% shot percentage despite taking nearly 50 shots in 14 games. Winter also managed 41 hits, and had 45 minutes on the penalty kill. Perhaps one of the most notable stats for Winter were his two game winning goals and one game tying goal. That's good enough for second in the league for both game winning goals and game tying goals. So not only did Winter put up better offensive stats than superstar Joe McKeil, he was also a complete player with great defensive stats and impressive stats while under extreme pressure. It is understandable that Joe McKeil gets all of the media attention, as he is the captain of the team who has made the cup two seasons in a row. He also has won many awards and has many records, but the fact is Winter outplayed McKeil during these playoffs and was very underrated throughout.

Task 7:
This is it. You have all spent hundreds of hours on the ice. Conditioning, training, practicing, and working towards one goal. Only you know how much work you've put towards this moment. Since the time you first laced up, you have been thinking of this chance. Now that the opportunity is finally here, how are you going to use it? ARE YOU GOING TO COWER IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY? NO! That is not who we are and that is not what this Texas organization is built on. All it takes is one slip up and our season is over. The only way we are leaving this building with that cup is if we have 23 guys on top of their game. This is overtime game 7, where one play decides who takes the cup. Go out there and leave it all on the ice. Win or lose, don't leave here with the regret that you could have skated faster or pushed harder than you did. History is calling boys, now let's go pick up the phone.

Task 1: Prediction - HAM in 6

Task 2 : [Image: CiD6D5N.png]

Task3: [Image: yE1FhH9.jpg]

Task 4:

The Hamilton Steelhawks went into the playoffs tied for the most points in the league. Hamilton is a team overflowing with veterans and that experience really paid off in the playoffs, as their opponents were simply overmatched through the early rounds. Here are some notable regular season stats that got them here.
Top 5 Scorers for Hamilton in S20
Joe McKeil - 50 GP - 25 G - 35 A - 60 PTS - + 25
Ivo Willems - 50 GP - 18 G - 32 A - 50 PTS - + 21
David Winter - 50 GP - 24 G - 23 A - 47 PTS + 19
Magnus Jakobsen - 50 GP - 17 G - 24 A - 41 PTS
Arthurs Grosberg - 50 GP - 8 G - 32 A - 40 PTS

Goalie Stats
Edwin Ask - 42 GP - 29 W - 11 L - 2 OTL - .907% - 2.15 GAA
Jakob Tanner - 8 GP - 6 W - 2 L - 0 OTL - .886% - 2.22 GAA

Notable trades/signings:

Arthur Grosberg, a solid scorer and substantial teammate. After signing a 2 year contract extension, he will be a locker room name for seasons to come.

Chris Serpe, a lock down defender who isn’t afraid to sacrifice his body to keep the puck out of the net. His skills will keep Hamilton strong defensively for a few years to come.

Jacob Cunningham, after some internal team strife, Cunningham was moved to Hamilton for little more than a cup of coffee.

OJ Simpson, in his final SHL season. Like Brett Favre with Minnesota, OJ was looking to make one last push for the cup before enjoying a long retirement of Golf and sweet tea. Hamilton gave up some youth in the trade, but their depth is such that it won’t be much of a problem to overcome.

Final thoughts:

I, along with many others, picked the Steelhawks to take this all way at beginning. I don’t plan on changing that pick now. Their scoring is simply too good, their goaltending is just too solid, and as a team, they really just click with one another. I’m not going to call Hamilton a team of destiny, as that almost never pans out, but they have already made their mark on Season 20 and a cup win would put a nice exclamation point on season 20 being the year of the Hamilton Steelhawks.

Task 5:

To make a really bad, but somewhat accurate comparison, the Goalie is the QB of any good hockey team. To say a good goalie is important for a team’s chances at winning a cup would be a major understatement.. Despite my professed love for Edwin Ask this series, the player I am going to discuss as the hands down MVP of the SHL Challenge Cup Playoffs, is the star goalie for the Texas Renegades, Jordin Fourfour. Jordin Fourfour has been nothing short of the second coming of Christ. The guy saved everything! While it’s no secret that FourFour is one of the best goalies in the league, I don’t think anyone expected THIS level of play from him. During the regular season, Jordin posted a record of 27-14-3, which was enough to help his team win the #2 seed in the Western Conference. He also posted mind-boggling numbers in the Goals Against Average and Save Percentage categories, with a 1.98 GAA and a .925 SV%. He also managed to notch 6 shutouts. These numbers certainly make a strong case for awarding him Top Goaltender honors. Now, to take a look at the post season, Jordin hasn’t disappointed in the least. He without a doubt proved that is a world class goaltender who not only survives the stressful situations, but actually EXCELS in them. Somehow when the shit really hits the fan, Jordin goes into lockdown mode and actually gets BETTER. Jordin Fourfour has appeared in all 11 games for Texas this playoffs and posted a 8-3-0 record, and once again his numbers in both Goals Against Average and Save Percentage are just fantastic. In the playoffs, Fourfour put together a .907 SV% and a solid 2.17 GAA, including 1 shutout. With these numbers, FourFour is putting his name up there with many of the other legendary goalies of seasons past. He is facing another legend across the ice in Edwin Ask, but if Texas manages to pull off this series, the name ‘Jordin FourFour’ will be spoken with quiet reverence for seasons to come. This series, like the play of it’s two goalies….will be legendary.

Task 6:

I think it’s pretty safe to say that the Hamilton Steelhawks are one of the deepest teams I’ve ever seen in the SHL (because clearly I have so much experience to draw from!Wink. Regardless, the simple fact is that they have won both the President’s Trophy and the Prince of Wales Trophy, a feat that requires a team with few, if any, weaknesses. On a team stacked with stone cold studs like Edwin Ask and Joe McKeil, it’s easy to go unnoticed, or at least not receive your share of the spotlight. For me, that player is none other than Hamilton Center David Winter.

Winter, despite being an elite centerman, stepped into the role of the second line, behind Joe McKeil. That’s a pretty formidable duo to be anchoring your forwards line. David Winter would be a first liner on ANY other team, which just goes to show how stacked Hamilton is. David Winter is an elite player with virtually no weakness. He is dominant in every area of the game, making him a fan favorite league wide. Not many players are able to make that claim. He is feared by his opponents, and since he plays against the other teams SECOND best centers, he often leaves them looking embarrassed.

So despite all this, It’s a bit troubling to see him get denied the proper accolades. While most of the praise falls on Joe McKeil, David Winter just puts his nose down and gets to business. He is well loved by his teammates, and respected by his opponents.

Additionally, sources tell me that he is quite the voice in the locker room, taking on a mentorship role to younger players who immediately look up to him. You couldn’t do much better than having David Winter as your mentor. David Winter is the type of guy that sports movies are based on. Actually….let me write that down!

This year, David Winter has shown that when a teammate stumbled, he can pick him up. There is no better evidence of this than when Joe McKeil went on a short slump being unable to produce goals over a stretch of 9 games. David Winter was able to step up into the role and get the job done. Suffice it to say, it’s entirely possible…if not likely, that without David Winter, Hamilton could have had a shocking early round exit from the playoffs.

So for these reasons and more…David Winter is my pick for the most underrated stud.

Task 7:

Gentlemen.  This is it.  The next goal takes the cup.  Who will it be?  Us or them?  I don’t know about you guys, but dammit, I worked too damn hard offseason, too damn hard this season, and too damn hard these playoffs to fall one goal short of victory.  This cup is ours, boys.  Not theirs.  I know it, you know it, and even though they won’t admit it…they know it.  All we need to do is take.  So let’s take what is ours.  One goal gentlemen.  One goal.  We’ve scored more than a hundred this season.  The hard part is done.  We just need one more.  One more.  ONE. MORE.  Can we do it?  Do you think we can do it?  I know we can do it.  So do it.  Get out there boys.  This is our night.  That is our cup.  Go get it boys.  WE GOT THIS.

TASK ONE
Prediction Thread - Renegades in 5

TASK TWO

TASK THREE

TASK FOUR

You want to talk about reasons for being in the playoffs? You've got it with the Texas Renegades. This doesn't surprise me to see them back here. After another GM change, we see two very capable GM's reigning over this team and that alone is going to get you somewhere. They have had good drafts and brought in players that actually matter to completely revamp this team. Jordan Hall was a huge piece that was added, but that's not all. Look at all their upcoming youth from the past two or three drafts. They made something out of their players and a lot of them are on the verge of being at or over five hundred points. It's insane to see such a turn around but the credit has to go to activity and a competent GM. It's not to say the other GM's are terrible, nor does it mean they aren't competent, it just goes to show that on top of having the GM the team has, they have a supporting cast of players to help them push forward. They have tremendous depth at the center position which is the first thing you notice when looking at their roster page. This team is filled with talented forwards and on top of that they have good defenders and a really good goalie. They have all the makings for a great consistent team, that's hard to find in most teams.

Another thing that stands out to me is their dedication to making the team better. They know which direction they'd like to go and they're pushing forward to make it happen. It takes a lot of dedication and skill to make that happen, but the experience to make it happen is above and beyond. Nathan and company really have come far and nothing but congratz goes to them for that. If they can continue building this team and shaping their new guys the way they are, they'll have no problem competing for the next 4-5 seasons easily. It's all about keeping your team happy which it seems like all of them are. Kudos to the team, hopefully we'll see you back here again.

TASK FIVE

An MVP can be many things. It can be the person who carries the team, or the person that has the best statistical sheet, but in my eyes, it's the one player that makes it impossible to lose and needs to go day in and day out to make this team what it is. For me, both teams have one of those players, but since there can only be one, I have to write about one. The winner of this award is going to be a goalie, can you guess which one? Do you have to ASK the question? It's going to be Edwin freaking Ask. This kid is an absolute stud, and has been highly touted and talked about since he joined the league. He has yet to disappoint on the team and this is the reason he's in the playoffs with his current team. Ask was an absolute beast in the regular season alone, recording FIVE shutouts and recording a season tying twenty-nine wins, this was just phenomenal and really helped his team. What also makes his team look good, is the fact that he's top three in goals against average with 2.15 and is also up there for save percentage with .907. Those are some tremendous stats, but we're not even close to done there. Now that we get to take a look at the playoffs, his stats just look that much better. Ask currently has some of the best numbers out of any goalie currently playing in the playoffs and as he heads into the finals, we've got statistics that look something like this. He's got a save percentage of .939, second best in the playoffs among the six other goalies in the league. On top of that, he's got the best goals against average with 1.48, yes that is insane and no I'm not lying to you. He's letting in a little under one and a half goals per game, and to me, that's just astonishing. If all of that wasn't enough, Ask also has one shutout and is tied for the most wins with the Renegades goalie for obvious reasons.

So is this everything to make Ask a playoff MVP? Of course it is. With everything said and done, this guy is a class act and has both the personality and the stats to prove he'll be an elite goalie in this league for years to come. A lot of people talked about this guy and he's just constantly living up to the hype. Hamilton needs to ensure they build around him as long as possible, build from the net out, because that will continue to bring them to where they are today. Good luck to both teams and all the players involved, but this guy is your clear cut winner, don't get it confused. #Don'tAskJustListen

Quote:475 words

TASK SIX

A lot of people talk about the big names in the playoffs right now. Guys like David Winter and Chris Partlow, but one guy that should be getting some attention is Lionel Byrde of the Texas Renegades. Now I know what you're thinking, what are you talking about, this guy isn't underrated, but to me, he really is. Byrde was a top point obtainer this year for the Renegades, getting forty-one points in his fifty game season, something that is very impressive. But while some guys can be good in the regular season, a lot of the time it just doesn't translate into the playoffs, here on the other hand, it does. While he has no goals, Byrde ended up assisting on TEN freaking goals, can you believe that? He's played eleven games, and in those eleven, he's got ten assists. That just blows my mind. So many teams try to find that one guy that can get the points racked up and find someone they can put with anyone who is just going to go out there and assist on goals, a playmaker is a dime a dozen, and they've got one here. Something I forgot to mention is because he's got ten assists, he's leading the playoff race for most assists, yeah they may be his only points, but again when you're a playmaker, that's all you need. Lionel is a special type of player as well, because he knows how to play both aspects of the game. Not only does he like to pass, he likes to hit, and he likes to bang bodies. He doesn't care if he's throwing a hit, or being hit, he loves the aspect and the adrenaline is pumps through his body.

If someone can prove me wrong, go right ahead. To me, this is the guy to look out for in the finals. Keep him with someone that can score, and you've got a deadly combo in the making. I'd certainly be scared to go against this guy, and if he doesn't get recognized, I'll call bull, it's just a solidified player that's doing what he does best. He doesn't need it sugarcoated.

Quote:362 words

TASK SEVEN

Alright boys, no time to sugarcoat this, it's time to get down to business. You guys should be damn proud about where you've all gotten yourself. Together, you've made it as one of the top teams of the season and for that, you guys should all give yourselves a pat on he back. We've accomplished a lot this season, and we've gone so far compared to where we may have been before. Because of all this, we're going into game seven. Not only are we going into game seven, we're about to make history as we go into overtime. I know you're all on edge, I know this is a huge deal, but lets go out there like it's just another game. I don't want you to be stressed, I don't want anyone to be on edge, it's time to bring home a cup to Hamilton, it's time to show them we're not a joke, and we've got this. LETS.DO.IT!

Task 1-DONE
Task 2:Graphic- line-up sheet
[Image: 2gy24n4.jpg]
Task3: Graphic poster
[Image: rseqnl.jpg]
Task 4: Road to cup.

The Texas renegades road to the cup where this past off-season where they got star Jordan Hall right's for a 2nd round pick+ 2 3rds which is a steal of a trade. He also signed with the renegades looking for a cup. They had the goalie that you need to win a cup something Hall thought was the most important think to win a cup. He however wasn't the only guy that helped this team to the challenge cup finals, Diagle was a great dept signing. Lee was a character signing same with Granger both guys battle, are tough to play against and will help a team maintain momentum and they can chip in a goal once in awhile. They also got Kinsler who was developing a name for being a clutch player in the junior level by winning two four stars cup in a row. He also has the skill and the defensive awareness to be a perfect 3rd line center for this team. This team has everything that you need to win in a challenge cup, a well balanced team that is built from the net out, with a solid defence and great center depth. Wingers who support the puck really well. This team is built for the play-offs and is going to be a team that will compete for many cups if they all stay together.

They have played two very good teams in the playoffs so far so this team has been tested and well they have been successful. they have sticked to their game and have won games in very different way. partlow has won some games for his team, same with Hall, same with Fourfour. depth guys have contributed in wins like Daigle and Wingels. Byrde and Salmon have kept their chemistry that they have had together since they have been together last season offensively this team can win games in many different fashions as is a key reason why they are in the challenge cup finals. The play-offs is all about scoring at the right times and making the big save at the right moments and well this team has that gotten for them.

Task 5: Play-off MVP

Chris Partlow has been the MVP for the Renegades, he has been great for this team when they needed a goal to turn the game around and has used his offensive skills to win hockey games. He isn't just a pure offensive player but is an exceptional shut down defender that can eat up minutes and win games by shutting down his opponents. He has been a over a point per game and heading into the finals he is expected to win the playoff MVP if Texas wins the challenge cup. He has been a battler and without this amazing performance by him i don't think Texas will be in this to win it as of right now, he has won i think 3 or 4 games in the post-season offensively and has been a key member in shutting down the opposition. He has scored 2 game winning goals this post-season and he will need to bring this game to the finals in order to win the biggest prize in the SHL, the challenge cup. Partlow is going to be go down as one of the best defenders of all time and i think if he keeps this player he is going to be considered as one of the better players of all time. he is all about creating something out of nothing and has been a real threat to watch this post-season and we hope that his amazing performance he has had so far in this post-season continues. He is a poise defence men that is looking calm 200% of the game and has been a key member of this Texas Renegades team in the regular season and now has stepped it up in the clutches way as possible. Also he has 33 hits in 1 games, so he is bringing the pain when he plays. This is going to be very interesting as he is tasked to shut down the best player in the SHL in Joe Mckeil, who has been pretty poor this post-season to his standards of play so he might breakout against the renegades, a team who he struggled against this season.

Task 6:Underrated Player for Texas

I think the texas regengade has had many different players that has been very key to the success of Renegades this season. Bradley WIngels is one of them, he has been a key member in the locker room and has been a leader off the ice for this hockey club, he has been coming up with pre-game speeches for his team that has getting this team pumped and ready to go so far the team is a perfect 3-0 with his pre game speeches

Brendan Gibbion has been another player for the Renegades who has been a key member of this locker room, it may not show it on the ice but his experience of being in a winning situation and his grit and compete level is off the charts and is part of the reason why texas has never gave up all season long, when things weren't looking good for this team.

Alex Daigle has been another key member of this team's success, he has scored 3 game winning goals and 1 game tying goal. He needs to keep on scoring those key goals in key moments of the game and this team will win another championships this season.

Jordan Hall, he might not be underrated as he is considered one of the better players in the league already but he hasn't been all about the offensive play this season, he has been a key contributor to the defensive game, shutting down his opposition with great physical and defensive play. His FO% has been great for the team that and has been hopeful in gaining possession and when he has scored, it has rallied the team to win.

Its very hard to pick one of these players to be the most underrated performer for this team as all four of them has been so key and have had an impacted all season and playoffs long to help this team win a championship, these four guys might not win the Razov trophy but of they keep up what they are doing they will win the most important trophy the challenge cup.

Task 7:
This moment right here, is what defines a person or a team. We have 21 players on this team that are worth having the moment of winning a challenge cup together, we are a family, we are willing to fight, die and win together. This is what we need to do tonight, we have to win every single little battle in the hockey game in order to win the big battle, which is this moment, the moment is something that people fight, die to get in their lives in order to remember for the rest of their lives, this is something that we can tell our kids, our grandkids, etc. Whoever scores this goal is going to be in the record books for the rest of their lives. I am glad that i am sharing this oppounity together as a team and there isn't no other team that i would want to share this with other than you guys. NOW LETS GO FUCKIN WIN THE CHALLENGE CUP BOYS THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WE ARE BORN TO DO, SOEMTHING THAT WE DEAMNT OF WHEN WE WERE KIDS AND IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TONIGHT ALL WE NEED IS ONE GOAL FROM ONE OF US WHICH ISN'T REALLY IN THE SCHEME OF THINGS IMPOSSIBLE.

Task 1:
Steelhawks in 6

Task 2:
[Image: Screen_Shot_2014_11_05_at_5_17_17_PM.png]

Task 3:
[Image: Screen_Shot_2014_11_05_at_6_16_42_PM.png]

Task 4:
What a battle it takes to get to the finals. Only two teams can do it every year so the fact that both these teams made it and only one can win it, no one should hang their head. That being said the road to the Finals was somewhat of an easy one for the Hamilton Steelhawks. The franchise enjoyed a season in which they were the best team in the entire league (tiebreaker broken by goal differential). Then they went on to beat their first round opponent the West Kendall Platoon in a sweep! Their tough matchup on paper came against the New England Wolfpack. However the Steelhawks survived that series in only five games and got to wait for their Finals opponent from Texas, the Renegades.

The Steelhawks commitment to drafting turned their franchise around and they were able to build more chemistry while doing so. The nice balance of youth and veterans on this Steelhawks team makes them very dangerous. A team who builds through drafts usually has comradery that other teams do not. The Steelhawks are generally a classy bunch of hardworking nose to the grindstone type players. The end goal is obviously the same as their foes in this next round, but the way they got their is totally different.

Led by arguable the best player in the entire league in Joe McKeil, the Steelhawks kill you with their high powered offence. Ivo Willems and David Winter complement Mr. McKeil perfectly to form one of the most lethal lines in hockey. Edwin Ask does just enough in the crease to keep this team honest and going strong. His strong play all year has rewarded the team in a position to get SHL glory. It's amazing to think guys like Brandon Cant, Magnus Jakobsen, Arthur Grosberg and Rehn Miller are all depth players. If those guys are depth, I think we may need a new definition of depth with how high powered they are. The amazing pieces this franchise has is what drives their engine. With veterans Jareth Sto Helit and Roman Schultz giving this team the experience and leadership they need to get over the hump.

Task 5:
Being the Most Valuable Player of any league, sport or team is a very bold title and one that few can stake claim too. Every year players and media look at one player and deem him the most valuable to his respective team. This year the clear runaway winner has to be Edwin Ask. After having an above average but not great regular season for the Steelhawks, Edwin came to play when it mattered most. His 8-1 record with a 1.48 goals against average is absolutely phenomenal and his .939 save percentage is something goalies dream of.

Edwin Ask continues to define the way the game is played in this league when it comes to crease kings. Ask has only let in fourteen goals in nine games so far this playoff season which is amazing. If the Steelhawks have a chance at winning this it may come down to goaltending. Not only are they in a good spot but Ask has outplayed Jordin FourFour this playoff season as well as the past regular season. Without Ask the Steelhawks may have struggled quite a bit considering it seems their offence hasn't been firing on all cylinders quite yet. Id their offence doesn't pick up, then the clear cut winner of the Most Valuable Player is Edwin Ask.

Eight games in and possible 7 more to go, but Edwin Ask will make sure that second number gets down to 4. The scoring from the regular is nice, but the Steelhawks either get it going or rely on Edwin Ask the most going forward. The Texas offence isn't overly exciting and their players don't really deserve it all that much, so Edwin will try to take it away from them early and get a strangle hold on the entire series. This is where players make their bread and feed their families. Let's see if the Steelhawks can use Ask's strong performances and back their net minder up until they can finally lift that cup up high. I firmly believe that Edwin Ask has been the best player for the Steelhawks and it isn't even close. Hamilton wins the series and championship on the heels of their puckstoppers great playoffs.

Task 6:
Underrated or Hiding? David Winter doesn't need no title to declare that he is a great player. However its obvious that Winter has been performing at an all-star pace and has been leading his team to victory the entire SHL playoffs. Winter leads the team in scoring in the playoffs much to a Joe McKeil cold streak. David has been giving it his all in the offensive side of the rink but also has been dishing out hits like someone spiked his drinks. Time for David Winter to get some recognition from behind the curtains and stake his claim of underrated hero for the Steelhawks.

Steelhawks will lean on David Winter in the finals considering his pace currently has him hitting the twenty point plateau for the playoffs season. If Joe McKeil and Ivo Willems can't show up as much as we are used to seeing, the play from Winter might be the thing that pushes this team passed the Texas Renegades. FourFour might be caught napping which would allow David Winter to show us why he is a true great in this league. A classy player with a hard working attitude and his right foot forward.

The best part about the fact that David Winter is the most underrated hero this season is that he will most likely get McKeil and Willems going and then it is lights out for the dirty Renegades. Winter is the unseen, underrated and out of the spotlight player who stays out of the media and stays out of the press releases. He will write his own headlines with the performance he has had so far and from this point forward. His two-way game and amazing amount of leadership allow Winter to gain the presses attention and capture a cup under his watch. Underrated or simply coming out of the shadows of McKeil? Well let David Winter decide what he would call this accomplishment. I for one feel that David Winter has another level that he can eclipse and then we will have not underrated him but under estimated him in the past. It's go time David!

Task 7:
"We didn't sacrifice our time and energy at the start of the season and that day forward for nothing. This is do or die and at the end of it you know you have a room full of brothers. It's time to go out there and make sure it's a room full of winning brothers. You may never get another chance like this in your entire career so it's imperative that we take advantage of what position we've put ourselves in at this stage. That's it gentlemen, we won't get a second chance to do this over if we falter. The team in the other dressing room wants it, they want it bad. However we have to channel the pressure and focus on wanting it more than they do. I think that possible and hell I don't think a person in this stadium disagrees. You only raid a castle with your strongest men, time to go out and grab the crown".[/QUOTE]

Task 3:

Task 5:
Maybe it’s the fact that I’m a goalie myself, but I’m a big fan of goalies getting the recognition they deserve. As the old saying goes, “the team gets recognition for a win, but the goalie gets blamed for the loss.” I’m here trying to change that theory tonight. So that’s why I’m going with the Texas Renegades’ Jordin FourFour for playoff MVP.

Coming into the playoffs, Jordin had played the workload of games, starting in forty-four of the forty-eight. His personal record was 27-14-3, rocking a league-leading 92.5 save percentage and a goals against average of 1.98 – the only goalie to have a goals against average under two. What makes this even more incredible is that FourFour saw the second most amount of shots in the season, behind Winnipeg’s Lauris Prikulis. FourFour also had a league leading six shutouts.

I know what you’re saying: his regular season stats were pretty great, and it opened my eyes to his performance, but we’re here supposed to be discussing playoff MVP. While he wasn’t as dominant in the post season as he was in the regular season, FourFour was still a force to be reckoned with. He played in every game in the post season, only getting subbed out for Gustavo for sixteen minutes, who surprisingly only saw two shots in that time. (Very odd for the team that gave up the most amount of shots.) He saw the most amount of shots with 405, and his stats were at least remotely close to the regular season. He had a 90.9 save percentage, 2.30 goals against average, a single shutout, and a single assist as well. In his sixteen games, he received the third star three times and the first star twice. But from what I hear, he was also a regular locker room presence, always trying to motivate his incredibly talented team, constantly giving speeches and waking up the players that needed it. He knew that he needed to lead by example, and tried to do just that. Frankly, he could have been captain of the team, if the league allowed such a thing. But, at the very least, he does deserve playoff MVP.

Task 6:
Don’t mess with Texas: the Renegades were an absolute force to be reckoned with this post-season, with most of the highest scoring players being on their team: the top five left wings, three of the top four right wings, two of the top three centers, and the top four defensemen in the post season all belonged to Texas. It’s immensely hard to choose a player who would be considered an “underrated stud”. However, I’ve done just that.

Xavier Gauthier, the Renegades’ second line left defenseman had a relatively inert post-season in the points category, boasting a “measly” three goals (all of which were on the power play) and three assists in sixteen games. Oddly enough, he had the lowest plus/minus on the team with a minus four, and he had the second most amount of PIMs with seventeen. But that’s where that bad stat line ends. He dished out thirty hits, only taking just over half that. He even had twenty shots, meaning that he had a nice fifteen percent shooting. He averaged just under twenty-six minutes a night, making him third most tired both on the team and in the league (which is understandably biased since they played the most amount of games). He lead the team in shots blocked with thirty (of which I’d like to once again point out the Renegades saw the most amount of shots in the league in both the regular season and post-season). One of his goals was a game-winning goal, and he also had a game-tying goal. He even fought once, trying to energize his team, the fight ending in a tie. He never received any post-game star honors, which I feel definitely qualifies him for this underrated position. For a team that had some apparent defensive issues, seeing so many shots, the whole team (including Gauthier) did a great job from a positional standpoint, keeping shots to low percentage areas. You can’t really ask for much more out of a defenseman who isn’t known for his scoring, but is for his passing and defensive prowess. All in all, Gauthier gets my vote for “underrated stud” of the post season.

Task 7:
Gentlemen… We’ve played seven full games of hockey. At least four hundred and twenty minutes of hockey. We’re so close. Now I’m asking you to play just a little bit more, a little bit longer, a little bit harder. One goal and it’s ours. One. Stinking. Goal. So which one of you is going to get it? Which one of you wants the glory the most? Winners always want the puck when the game is on the line. And you know what separates the winners from the losers? Winners get back on the horse after getting kicked in the teeth. By this time tomorrow, the game will be over, and some of you might not be with us anymore. For those of you, there is no tomorrow for you, and that makes you all very dangerous people! Now let’s get out there and show those goofballs who really deserves the cup.

Task 4:

The Texas Renegades made only one trade during the season, but it ended up being an important one for the team. They gave up on of their better defenders in Zanis Zarins, but were able to pick up forward Maxim Horvat. When Maxim Horvat joined the Texas Renegades though, he saw his name penciled in on defense. Maxim Horvat bought into the new position and solidified the Renegades’ second defensive pairing. Horvat picked up nineteen points after joining the Renegades (3 goals, 16 assists), while Zarins was only able to tally eleven points for the Jets (4 goals, 7 assists). The deal helped Texas offensively and gave them a player that meshed with their system and instantly gelled with the team.

The Texas Renegades headed into the playoffs as the third seed after finishing three points behind the Seattle Riot in the West. The franchise players for the Texas Renegades were once again at the forefront for their team and made a big impact on the season. Jordin FourFour had what can only be described as a season for the record book and in fact, his save percentage from this season ties the record high in the SHL. Jordan Hall, Chris Partlow, Chico Salmon, Shawn Velevra, and Lionel Byrde led the team in points through the season and they all showed up in the playoffs to help Texas make the Finals as well.

In the playoffs, the Renegades bested the Los Angeles Panthers in five games and the Winnipeg Jets in six games. The Renegades can thank the likes of Lionel Byrde who had ten assists in eleven games, Chris Partlow who have thirteen points in eleven games, and the combination of Jordan Hall and Shawn Velevra on the Renegades’ first line. Jordin FourFour did not have a great run in the playoffs, but when he was counted on to close out a game that is exactly what he was able to do for Texas.

The Renegades know they have a tougher test against the Hamilton Steelhawks in the Finals because the Steelhawks have a deep roster. a solid goaltender in net, and have only lost one game during their Eastern Conference run.

Code:

Task 5:

When people think of the Texas Renegades Jordan Hall’s name might come to people’s minds first because of the amount of points he has accrued throughout his career and his longevity in the league. Or maybe, the Renegades defensive superstars Shawn Velevra and Chris Partlow will come to people’s minds because they have been a dominate pair for the Renegades. On the wing, Chico Salmon is making a large name for himself, the eccentric Alexandre Daigle is always on everyone’s mind, Mikhail Krivokrasov has been one of the best offensive players for Texas, and Lionel Byrde is becoming a playmaker and nightmare for defenses in the SHL. But none of these players was the MVP for the Texas Renegades. The honor of the Renegades’ MVP goes to Jordin FourFour; the Renegades’ goaltender had an incredible season with the Renegades this season, which saw him put up career numbers with the Texas Renegades.

In season twenty, Jordin FourFour was second in the SHL in wins with twenty-seven and first in save percentage with 0.925, goals against average 1.98, and shutouts with six in the season. FourFour’s season was so impressive, that his save percentage of 0.925 is tied for the best all time for the SHL in a single season.

In the playoffs, Jordin FourFour did not put up his best stats and had to be pulled from the net once in the playoffs, but when the team needed him to step up and stand on his head, he did it and he did it with gusto.

Jordin FourFour and the Texas Renegades agreed to a deal during the season to keep him in Texas for the foreseeable future and possibly for the rest of his SHL career. FourFour is happy with the deal and the Texas Renegades are happier because every great team in the SHL has the same thing, a great goaltender and that is exactly what Jordin FourFour is, a great goaltender and the most valuable player on the Texas Renegades. He is the reason why the Renegades had a great season and ended it with a Challenge Cup victory.

Bradley Wingels is a name not many fans around the SHL would know, but fans in Texas have begun to realize what Bradley Wingels brings to the Texas Renegades. Even though some fans in Texas still are not sure who Wingels is, when he joined the team, or what he does, his play during the SHL playoffs has certainly turned people’s opinion about him.

Wingels plays on the Texas Renegades’ third line, receives zero minutes on the Renegades’ power play or penalty kill, and only is on the ice for around fourteen minutes per game, but he makes the most out of those fourteen minutes. He has taken his role as a third line grinder to heart and is giving the Renegades a touch of energy when they need it the most. He is not a big hitter, a big shooter, or a big shot blocker, but he has more heart and love for his team than almost any other player does on the ice.

In eleven games, Wingels has put up six points and is seventh on the team in scoring, but while it does not seem important each of his three games have been important to the Texas Renegades and come at the right time to give the Renegades a lift during the game and turn the momentum around.

In the playoffs, you count on your star players to play well, but the other team’s star players will most likely cancel them out and that is when a team’s second, third, or fourth line has to shine. That is exactly what Bradley Wingels has done for the Texas Renegades. While Liam Kinsler – three assists - and Anton Gustafsson – one goal – have faltered during the SHL playoffs, Bradley Wingels has thrived.

It is time the SHL give Wingels the credit he deserves because even though he does not play much during a game, when he is on the ice, he give one hundred and fifty percent. He never backs down, he never surrenders, and he never forgets to put the biscuit in the basket when he has a chance to do so.

Task 7:

Guys, we all know I am not good at these things and I shouldn’t start now, but this is a new game in overtime. For here on out the score is nothing, nothing and we need to let everything hang out on the line for rest of the game. Skate hard for thirty seconds and then get fuck off the ice hard, so your teammates can skate his guts out; we are not going to win this game with tired legs on the ice, so do not get caught on the fucking ice. Throw everything at the fuckin net and get in their grill and let’s get to those rebounds he has been giving up tonight. Let’s clean up the garbage, guys, and get out of here with a win!

Task 3:

Task 4:
In this year's playoffs, both the Texas Renegades and the Hamilton Steelhawks are considered as the contenders of the Cup FInal. Hamilton, coming off of a strong year, are prepared. First, they acquired Fredrik Muller and Jakob Tanner for their old team. Also with young bloods like Franklin Trey, the Steelhawks management are really looking into creating a fervor for their fans. In addition, the already-strong core of the Steelhawks containing Edwin Ask and Joe McNeil, the Steelhawks are trying to rip it big this year as this is their second time in two years to go in the finals once again. Also in the "not so competitive" Eastern Conference. The Steelhawks definitely have more chance to bounce back for another year. The President's Trophy that they won last season indeed is a symbol showing how strong they are, and with the young and talented players they've picked up, it's is not hard to believe that Hamilton is playoff ready.

As for the Renegades, they have a bold team. The real challenge lies in the West because that's where the powerhouses are. Renegades, a team consisting of Jordin FourFour and players like Shawn Velevra and Chris Partlow, already coming in red hot as that's what their early season record has been telling us. Jordin FourFour, posting a superb 0.925 save percentage and a goal against average of 1.98 in the regular season, is conspicuously the leader that brings the whole Renegades team into the playoffs. Though Velevra and Partlow had a marvellous season, but that is merely a factor for the Renegades' success. With the trade that brought in Jordan Hall, an elite sniper known very well throughout the league, the Renegades for sure increased and strengthened their fire power on the first line.

When the two teams' management did an exceptionally great job at creating two teams that are competitive, they are determined to have a blast in the finals once placed against each other. Edwin Ask and Jordin FourFour are looking into each other's eyes and trying to battle it out. Will Edwin Ask's team win to compensate for last year's despair when they lost, or will FourFour stay strong in net ready to win it all? We will see you in the finals.

Task 5:
Who's the most crucial player in the playoffs? Not the forward, nor the defenseman who is responsible for creating plays. Hey, of course it is not the coach (laughter). Undeniably, the goalie is the most crucial player in all teams. Goalie, known as the last line of defense, is the most important man. A forward can lose track of what he is doing, a defenseman can be all clued out on the ice. But goalie is the man who needs to be concentrated and focused at all time, even, at all costs. You can have an all star forward or a defensive stud like P.K. Subban, but your team will collapse late game without a stable, consistent goaltender. So often we see guys like Carey Price and Semyon Varlamov making big time desperation saves, every playoff team aiming for the cup want a guy like the mentioned. For the Renegades, Jordin FourFour is the right guy. After having a desired season, Jordin FourFour posted a save percentage of 0.928% and a goal against average of 1.98. In the competitive West, FourFour posted a great record for the Texas players. FourFour is playing calm and consistent in every game, if you ask FourFour what is a "late game collapse," maybe he will tell you it is an unknown vocabulary for him. In his mind, in his dictionary, there's only "success" and "stud" when he's playing. Heading into the finals with a callously awesome 8-3-0 record, FourFour is living up every goaltender's dream, whether in the farm or minor league, or the big SHL. It is hard to play good in the regular season as a goaltender in the West, and it's even harder to play like this in the playoffs, because every team is playing their guts out and hope to be the hero for their city and their team. But FourFour is the man, he denied them all, and led his Reneg(od)ades team to the road of victory. FourFour has the mindset and ability to be the man, the man who his teammates believe in, therefore, in my honest opinion, FourFour deserves to be this year's MVP for the champion.

Task 6:
When the MVP is taking all the attentions and compliments from all over the world. There has to be someone who works noticeably hard and trying his best. He works out every day, practicing his skills on and off the ice. And maybe even has to be a good father or boyfriend after all those so called "ordeals." He could be on the loser's side, or the winner's side, but he still is the man who is always willing to learn, and no matter what it takes, he's there. This man of course has to be Fredrik Mueller of the Hamilton Steelhawks.

Muller, a respectful rival of the Seattle Riot rookie Arton Laxk, is the kind of man who does not talk much on the ice but off the ice, you will see him in the gym training all the time. Training exceptionally hard for his team, he is physically and mentally ready to be the future star player of the Steelhawks. Though he went high in the S20 SHL draft, and was the spotlight for quite a while (no one thought he would go that high, but his rival Laxk, knows). But then went very quiet after. Besides his will for training, he is also the kind of player who looks after other teammates and is looking to create chances for his teammates, instead of taking all the credits just by himself. However, in a hardworking team like the Hamilton Steelhawks, it is fairly reasonable to underestimate a young rookie like Mueller, as the stars' brightness covered his fire. Still, we cannot say Mueller is not working hard.

Off the ice Mueller is a man who commits to his family and friends. Despite he is busy from all the trainings, he still spared times for his friends and family. He knows that other than hockey, his acquaintances and relatives are the ones that are closely related to him. Based on these factors Fredrik Mueller should really be the "unnoticed stud" though he is on the losing side of the cup finals. His attitude toward hockey and life is something really worth looking at.

Do they want to see us win that cup? We have trained all these years and played hockey for that long. We are determined to win, we are bound to win it all boys!!!!! Give me that hand you awesome fucko! Now we are up here, we cannot fucking disappoint our family, or our friends, hey even our fans right? They waited that long for the sweet taste of cup and we ought to deliver it for them eh? Let's fucking go!!!!!! We are gonna win, make no mistakes, no even the smallest of the tiniest. TASK 4- Road to the cup

On their way to the S20 Challenge Cup Finals, there was no obstacle that could not be overcome by the powerful Hamilton Steelhawks. The Hawks finished the season with a 35-13-2 record, recording 72 points en route to winning the President's trophy. While they led the Eastern Conference for basically the entire season, Hamilton finished strong, winning thirteen of their final sixteen games heading into the playoffs.

This winning momentum has continued into the playoffs, as the Hawks have only lost once in their first two playoff series combined. Hamilton's first playoff foe was a young Platoon squad who many expected to miss the playoffs this year. While rookie goalie Colin Schmidt put up a good fight, he was no match for the Hawks' Edwin Ask, and the Steelhawks swept the series, winning game four in dramatic double-overtime. Next on the docket was the feisty New England Wolfpack, led by the Irish Inquisition of Carter O'Callahan. However, Hamilton shut them out in game one which set the tone of the series. The Pack stole one game, but the Hawks finished them off in five games.

The Steelhawks have utilized a strong offensive core, many of whom extended their contracts this season. 60-point scorer and captain Joe McKeil, 50-point scorer Ivo Willems and young star Magnus Jakobsen all extended their contracts and their performance this season has proven their worth. The performance of goaltender Edwin Ask can not be overstated, as he has posted a near-perfect 8-1-0 record with an astounding .939 save percentage and a minuscule 1.48 goals against average.

Some key trades were also made leading up to and on the trade deadline that, while they didn't have a huge effect during the regular season, have been huge help for Hamilton in these playoffs. OJ Simpson was acquired from the Edmonton Blizzard to add defensive depth, but he has been a key contributor this offseason with five points in nine games, including a game-winning goal. Another Edmonton defenseman was added a few days later in Chris Serpe, who has four assists and a plus-six rating in the S20 playoffs. And on deadline day itself, Arthur Grosberg was acquired from the slumping Manhattan Rage, and sits second on the team in goal scoring. Management certainly saw the potential in these players, and they have paid off this far, but there is still this one last series to truly test them.

TASK 5- MVP of the playoffs

When you want to build a team to make it deep, deep into the playoffs, who is the one player you need to build around? It's the goaltender of course. You can have as many star forwards as you can pay for but if your own net-minder has more holes than a block of Swiss cheese, you're going to have problems. With this in mind, the Texas Renegades are very fortunate to have Jordin FourFour in between the pipes in this season's playoffs. FourFour is a proven goalie with many years under his belt, and he has shown his value this postseason. With an 8-3-0 record heading into the Finals and a shutout to boot, FourFour does not crack under pressure. He also boasts a healthy 2.17 goals against average and a solid .907 save percentage. Jordin is a leader on the squad, inspiring his players when necessary, cracking jokes when the time is right, and showing his passion for the game.

He needs to make sure he keeps his emotions in check though, because a focused goalie is a reliable goalie. This was demonstrated early in the third period of game two of the Western Conference Finals. Down 5-1 and completely put off by his team's play, FourFour "lost his shit" on the officials, the opposing team, and basically anyone within earshot, resulting in an unprecedented game misconduct. Young fans near the players tunnel were given earmuffs by arena staff, as the furious FourFour could be heard yelling all sorts of obscenities, including a few which had never been heard before in any language. However, this emotional outburst proved to be exactly what Texas needed to get themselves back together, as they fought for a win in game three and got it, eventually winning the series in six games. FourFour's play drastically improved after game two, posting a 3-1-0 record with a 1.75 goals against average. Fans of both teams are excited to see the goalie battle between Edwin Ask and FourFour, and it should prove to be an epic battle, as FourFour is clearly the Renegades MVP at this point of the postseason.

Task 6- Underrated stud

I believe there is nothing better than having an overqualified backup goalie on your team. It means you can go into each game not stressed about what happens if your starter has a bad night, gets injured, or throws a temper tantrum to get himself ejected from the game. The Texas Renegades have Jonas Gustavo, a veteran tendy who brings experience and wisdom to any teammate that takes the time to attempt to understand his broken English. Gustavo was born in Mexico, but at a young age moved to Sweden to learn to play goalie from his grandmother. His dream was to move back to Mexico and hop the border into Texas to play for his favourite team, the Renegades, and he accomplished this dream on the day of his eighteenth birthday.

Gustavo, unlike starting netminder FourFour, is a quiet leader on the team, partly due to his ability to only speak a mixture of Swedish and Spanish, but mostly due to his laid-back demeanor. His presence in the locker room can help relax his team in stressful situations, which is an important asset to have in the playoffs, even more so in the Finals.

In game two of the Western Conference Finals against the Winnipeg Jets, Gustavo got the unexpected opportunity to play some playoff hockey after FourFour was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct. All of a sudden Gustavo went from warming the bench to facing a five-minute shorthanded situation. Fortunately, his defense was stellar and he never faced a shot on the man-disadvantage, allowing him to become acclimatized to actually playing. Then, just past the twelve-minute mark, came "the shot." ESPN-8's camera crew had mic'd up Gustavo prior to the game, and we have a transcript of the audio from that play.

"Thees game ees easy. No shots, I just seet here like good goalie. OH SHEET. THEY HAVE PUCK. Oh no, not Jamers Both. He say meen things about Partlow's mother. HEES WINDING UP OH FUUUUUU-"

Shhh... quiet guys, quiet. Do you hear that? That, is the sound of eighteen thousand people expecting us to fail. Eighteen thousand people who anticipate the Steelhawks to just walk out of the locker room and wipe the floor with us. Eighteen thousand people who are waiting on the edge of their seats, barely able to hold their breaths because they think we're going to fall flat on our faces. Eighteen thousand people with their cameras ready for Joe McKeil to lift the Challenge Cup over his head. But do you know what I hear? I hear eighteen thousand people who are going home tonight with JACK SQUAT. NO JOE MCKEIL, NO PICTURES, NO CHALLENGE CUP, NOTHING. AND WE, THE TEXAS MOTHERFUCKING RENEGADES, ARE GOING TO BE THE ONES TO SEND THEM HOME!

Task 4: Road to the cup

As the finals started, we had, in front of us, 2 teams who had similar seasons. Finishing tied for first, the Hamilton Steelhawks were the contenders for the win. To add to it, they finished the regular season with 8 wins in their last 10 games. On the other side, the Texas Renegades finished 3rd in the league, but slowed off a bit in the last 10 games, winning 5 out of 10. In the first round of the playoffs, the Renegades wanted to show everyone that they were real contenders. They were facing the Panthers, a team that finished 4th in the league, just below Texas. This series passed fast. The Renegades were really hungry to win it and they did in 5 games shutting the mouth of everyone who were saying that, since the team finished the season with only 5 wins in 10 games, they were out of gas and would be eliminated fast. On to the next round. During this time, the Stellhawks had no trouble disposing of the West Kendall Platoon in 4 games. Round 2 of the playoffs. Texas VS Winnipeg. Many were saying that it could be the end for Texas, since the Jets were coming off a big win, in 4 games, eliminating the best team in the league (who were tied for 1st with Hamilton), Seattle. The Renegades showed really good character on those games, coming off the blocks really fast and never looking behind. They finally won the series by the score of 4 - 2. For the SteelHawks, another easy series as they won 4 - 1 against the Wolfpack. Once again, the Renegades were the underdogs, as many were saying that Hamilton were flying in those series and it would be too hard to win it for Texas. Well, like in the 2 other series, Texas had their word to say. They started strong and, again, won it. They only gave 1 game to the SteelHawks. They finally got to lift the cup after 5 games against their opponents, winning it in front of Hamilton's crowd! How did they do it? Interviewed players told us that their recipe was pretty easy, keeping it simple. Shooting as much as they could, from almost everywhere in the opponent's zone. Their coach told us that the whole team listened to this advice and it worked pretty well in all the 16 games. (401 words)

Task 5: MVP of the playoffs

Since it's now known that the Texas Renegades have won the cup, I'll look on that side to say who's the MVP for the present playoffs. At first look, we can say that there isn't a particular player who's been dominating for Texas. This win has been a team effort, you only have to look at the league leaders in points to see that Texas owns the 4 first players of the league, each of them having between 15 and 18 points. As always when we talk of playoff MVP, we have to look at the goalie. If you absolutely need a MVP for the playoffs, since it's that hard to find a clear winner in the skaters, I'd give it to the goalie Jordan FourFour. Why? First of all, we can see that he's been in net for ALL Texas playoffs games. When the Renegades needed a reliable goaltender, they looked at FourFour all the way. In 16 games, he has 12 wins, 4 losses. Pretty good stats. He has been saving more than 9 shots out of 10 throughout the playoffs, posting a good 0,909 percentage of efficacity, good for 3rd best in the playoffs, keeping in mind that he has played more games than the 2 others, and has played in more important games, going through the finals.
If we look a bit deeper in the stats, we can see that his goal against average is not ''that'' good, but still stands at 2.30, in those high scoring playoff games. Helping him winning the MVP title for this year is that he did win 1 game with a shoutout. 2 small notes to rest my case, we can say that he even helped his team offensively, registering 1 assist in the playoffs. The other point : it's hard not to talk about a goalie who has registered, in 16 games played, 15 penalty minutes...about 1 minute per game. This shows how agressive and implicated he was during all the playoffs! But as I said earlier, we could also give the MVP of the SHL playoffs to the entire team, who has played as a solid squad. Every player stood up to the test and, with helping each other on the ice, the Renegades were able to win the SHL playoffs! (383 words)

Task 6: Underrated stud

Every off season, there is a player name MVP of the playoffs. We take a look at who did the best job for the winning team. But when we look further, deeper in the stats, there are always players who passes under the radar, but who gave a really good hand to the team. When we look at the Texas Renegades roster, one player jumps out of it. I'd give the Underrated stud award to defenseman (and LW) Jim Lahey. The first thing that we see is that he's been an exellent player on both sides on the ice. He was there to help the offense and was one of the best player defensively. It's easy to say that his playoff leading +12 talks for itself. When most of the player (not only on his team but in the league) are in the minus column, he managed to get a + 12 to his scoresheet. Without his defensive talent, Texax would have given more goals...and more goals means harder games to win and more game to lose. To add to his + 12 shift, he managed to score 2 goals. Lahey has been, in those playoffs, the kind of guy who goes under the radar, but who helps his teammates look better. He collected 9 passes in 16 games, for a total of 11 points. Not a point per game as a MVP will do, but more thant half a point per game. He has also been implicated in the game physically. He gave 41 hits in 16 games (almost 3 per games), good for the 2nd place of his team. He also contributed defensively with 27 blocked shots, good for 3rd place in the league. If you looked at some playoffs games you could see that, when he got into a battle for the puck in the corners, he almost always won it, finishing the job with a nice hit. He has been used throughout the playoff in all situations, even strength, powerplay, where he was on the ice for 53 minutes and penalty kill where he was there for 28 minutes. Having a player like him on the team has really given the Renegades the boost they needed to go to the end of the road. This king of award is harder to give that the MVP award but we can see, this year, that Lahey was implicated everywhere on the ice, paying the price by blocking shots, giving big hits and helping his teammates scoring goals! Congratulations mr. Lahey. (422 words)

Task 7: Motivational speech

Ok guys! It's been a fucking long road. We've worked hard every day, every game to be there. For many of you, this is a first final. I've been there a few years now and I know that this starting overtime period will be the hardest you've ever played! Yes, we're tired...Yes, we want the cup in our hands! But you know what!!! Now it's time to think about now...the next seconds...every regular season game I told you : one game at a time. Well now, every second is the most important of your life! Every one of you can be the hero today! Game 7, overtime, the finals....now is the best moment of your lives! Every one of you! And you know what it takes to be THE hero??Playing as a team...because you may be the one that will score the game winner, but the 2 guys passing you the puck...the 2 d's hits just before the takeaway and the big save from your goalie before your breakaway...all of this counts!
Now, let's show them who's the better team on the ice...let's show them that we can play as a unit...let's give this last boost to win it and raise the cup above our heads!

Task 1: DONE

Task 2: [Image: o9kn7tcdl4dnq96u35mi.jpg]

Task 3: [Image: ccxk6zmidg1a6xdax9b.jpg]

Task 4: Texas Renegades had very interesting season and last 2 seasons. Not this season , but season before TEX made key moves. They traded Gabriel Dujardin and McLovin for one of the best league defensemans Shawn Velevra and one of the upcoming rookies Zanis Zarins. First season with them didnt helped Renegades to be a playoff team. They missed playoffs for 2 times in 3 seasons and they wanted to be a better so they also made a lot of changes in team's management. Nathan D'Angelo was announced as GM of the Texas Renegades and Tyler Seguin was announced as a co-gm of Renegades. These changes helped them a lot. GM's took a risky move and they put Shawn Velevra in offence from the beggining of the season and helped them a lot. They also acquired Jordan Hall from Steelhawks, they also signed Jackie Lee from North Stars and player who was kicked out from his last team West Kendall Platoon - Hermione Granger. Renegades had a lot of great forwards this season like Velevra , Hall, Salmon, Bryde, Daigle, Wingels, Krivokrasov and others. They also traded Young defenseman Zanis Zarins for S16 entry draft 1st overall pick Maxim Horvat, so Renes were very loud in trading this and last season. This GM activity and new changes helped Renegades to turn everything and first time in 3 seasons make the playoffs. In first round they passed by very strong team Los Angeles Panthers , in the second round they had battle against last season champions winnipeg jets, they won 4-2 and in finals they will play against Hamilton Steelhawks. Renegades pluses are that all lines can score, but minus that they can think it will be easy series and they can lose it all. They will have to play with their all heart and passion to beat Steelhawks, just because Steelhawks is a lot better team than Renegades.Texas Renes has a lot of old players on their team with great leadership. The most popular from these old Texas renegades players is Brendan Gibbon aka Gibby. He will have to get out of his cage to motivate the team, they also have Jackie Lee , Jordan Hall, C.Partlow and others but Steelhawks really isnt the youngest team out there too, so in my opinion i think that this will be very interesting series, but Renegades will win this in 6 games.

Task 5: The Hamilton Steelhawks and the Texas Renegades both have amazing rosters with star, most important - talented players so u can just stay there and say : that guy has a talent. Hamilton has players like Edwin Ask, David Winter, Joe McKeil, Jareth Sto Helit, Roman Schultz, Brandon Cant Magnus Jakobsen, and newly acquired Latvian Arthur Grosberg who is ex Rage playerand all of those guys would be perfect candidates for an MVP nomination of the playoffs and the seasons but from the Hamilton Steelhawks I would have to give the MVP to forward Joe McKeil. Joe McKeil led the regular season in goals and other important things, and in Game 1 of the Challenge Cup finals he scored his eleventh goal of the playoffs. Unreal performance by this guy. Thats just unreal. Like 11 goals in 10 games. McKeil is true leader of the Steelhawks and he's a great person in Steelhawks LR. Joe has good stats. He plays top minutes, and he is a leader on this team. Not only on ice but also in the LR. He deserves the MVP for the Hamilton Steelhawks. But the thing is that a lot of people says that Edwin Ask should be a MVP for the Steelhawks, but in my opinion he really hasnt done much, because they werent against top tier teams, but they played against WKP and NEW and its easy to put up numbers against easy teams like this, so Joe McKeil deserves to be the MVP..

On the other team theres also a lot of great players. the Renegades have a few stars on their squad like Chico Salmon, Jordan Hall, Shawn Velevra, Chris Partlow, Alexander Daigle, Bradley Wingels, Mikhail Krivokrasov and Jordin FourFour. Everyone from these guys deserves to be MVP, because everyone are putting up points, but based on 2 rounds Renegades defensman Chris Partlow deserves to be the MVP. Partlow is a beast on the ice, and off the ice, LR. He led Renegades in points total in the regular season, and he's the Renegades all time scoring leader, so this guy probably deserves to win a cup. Currently in play-offs he has 14 points which is awesome performance. I think that Jordin Four Four also deserves to be the MVP, because he put up good numbers against Jets and LA, but i think this old defenseman deserves it more...

Task 6:

Another great subject to talk about, you always hear about the McKeils, the Willems, the Winters, the Partlows or the Halls, or even the Salmons, but you barely hear about the underrated stars both of those teams have to offer. Like in our previous topics, we will take a deeper look into the Texas Renegades roster, maybe we take a glimpse at the Steelhawks team, but not sure right now. If you look at both teams pages there aren’t a lot of underrated players that ain’t getting much spotlight. Both teams are filled with top players from the bottom to the top. Maybe not from bottom to the top, but you probably get what i mean.

The most underrated stud from the Hamilton Steelhawks is noone other than Rehn Miller. Miller is second line center for the Hamilton Steelhawks and he had great season. He got 12 goals and 23 assists as total of 35 points and he also had 2 hits, 7 shot blocks and 44.12% percentage of faceoffs. Awesome performance because he played as second line center with average time of 18.70 min and 35 points in 50 games is awesome performance. Miller is not that type of guy who will just come in , snipe it and skate away. He just loves to be in these "quiet waters" like shark and then he just comes out of nowhere and gets a clutch goal for his team. He knows what do , and how to play in the playoffs, just because he is Rehn Miller from the Hamilton Steelhawks. Miller came in the league way back there in S10, when he started to play in SMJHL. From the early start in this league Rehn Miller never was the player who will score for his team all the time , but he's the clutch type guy. He scores when he wants and he passes when he wants. Something simillar to Justin Williams. Maybe Rehn Miller will be the guy who scores in the overtime for Hamilton Steelhawks and won the cup for them. Miller finally needs to win a cup, cuz he probably wont play very long time anymore... #WinItForRehn

Task 7: Guys..Just listen. Its do or die in overtime. We had 50 games in regular season, 10 games in playoffs, we won a lot of them , but this most important game and period in my and your life. This is our primary job, if we lose now , this season is fucked and 2nd place is not even good. This is our game, This is our chance to be remembered and to be written in history books, this is our chance to show the whole hockey world that we are season twenty champions of the SHL. Fight for all pucks, block all shots and shoot on the net and good things will happen, because we are CALGARY DRAGONS! Lets do it boys! Our time, our cup. On the ice now!
