S73 SMJHL PT #4 - Pre-game Playlist
#46

We're going to dance to one song, and one song only. Plus 4 other songs. Because that's what SMJHL PT heads demand.

Jiggas in Paris: This is the opener. Why do we play this one? Because it's provacative and it gets the people going. Why does it do that? No one knows. But it's probably just the sick base line and backround beat more than the lyrics. Hov.

DARUDE SANDSTORM: We will need light sticks and glow bands. No further comments needed.

Meteora: Fast paced beat with excellent vocals and some screamo layered in to get you in the mood for some mild violence and fast skating.

Rodeo Drive: This will bring you back down to earth just a little bit to retain that focus that well need on the ice.

Enter Sandman: The finale for the last mental pump up. This shit will get you ready to hit and snipe.

"Lose Yourself" by Eminem: This high-energy rap anthem is all about pushing through obstacles and giving it your all, making it a perfect choice to fire up the team's competitive spirit before hitting the ice.

"Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor: Known for its motivational lyrics and iconic guitar riff, this song is a classic choice for pumping up players and reminding them to stay focused and determined.

"We Will Rock You" by Queen: The stomping beat and anthemic chants make this song a great way to get the team and fans excited, building a sense of unity and anticipation.

"Thunderstruck" by AC/DC: The electrifying energy of this rock classic can amp up the adrenaline and set the tone for an intense, action-packed game.

"Can't Stop the Feeling!" by Justin Timberlake: A more contemporary choice, this song is all about positivity and having fun, providing a lighthearted moment to relieve pre-game nerves and create a relaxed, unified atmosphere in the locker room.

Ultimately, the songs on a team's pre-game playlist are carefully selected to motivate, energize, and unite the players, helping them to get into the right mindset to perform their best on the ice. These selections can vary widely depending on the team's preferences and traditions, but they all serve the common purpose of building team spirit and excitement before the big game.

The first song in the playlist for Anchorage is "We Are the Champions" by Queen. It's obviously a song about victory and winning, and  considering the Armada are hot right now, being 3rd in the conference, it makes sense that this song would be in their playlist. Another song on the playlist is "Down With the Sickness" by Disturbed. It's a unique song, catchy too, so it belongs in the playlist. The third song is "Roar" by Katy Perry, as Benny loved Katy Perry as a kid so he loved to listen to her music, especially Roar. The next song is "Cups (When I'm Gone)" by Anna Kendrick. When he was little, Benny was really good at stacking the cups like in the song, and he taught others how to do it, including his teammates, so that's why it's here. The last song is "American Idiot" by Green Day. No clue why, just that the team really likes it.
