Choose one team in the series and talk about the steps they took to make the finals. Was it a free agent signing, or an MVP player, or trades, etc. Must be 150 words.
Well for the West Kendall Platoon aka the team I'm picking because they have 3 words in their name so every time I say West Kendall Platoon I get an extra word compared to Winnipeg Jets which brings me closer to the 150 word requirement it all started when they drafted Beaujeaux Biscuit from the Montreal Militia because Biscuits is a born winner as you can see he has 2 Challenge Cups and 2 Gold Medals as a goalie wow that's amazing right so they drafted him and then demoted that bum bojo from GM and things really took off you know so then they made the playoffs and beat the Hamilton Steelhawks in 5 games and then the Minnesota Chiefs in a thrilling 7 game series after finishing 2nd in the East in the regular season and a lot of that was thanks to Biscuit who did good goalie things in net as he saved 91.6% of shots at him so that's pretty cool good job bojo.

In 150 words or more write about the top highlight of your season. whether it be your first goal, your first hat trick, first shutout, clinching playoffs, getting a career high in something, etc. Must be hockey related.
Well let's see there really weren't that many highlights this season for we noble players on the San Francisco Pride so let me think here for a second well I think the top highlight would probably be on the 16th of November when we played the Buffalo Stampede and Alexis Metzler went to the penalty box for roughing and then I got an assist on a Kyler Gill power play goal that made the game 2-1 and we eventually won 3-1 and that was such a good highlight because Buffalo are bums with nerds like Tatu Makela and Dermot Lavelle and Kevin Hamilton and like an appalling number of stinky detroit falcons alumni which as all well know is the undisputed stinkiest and lamest of all the SMJHL teams so it felt good that one of our few wins this season came against that band of dorks especially their GM who's a huge chimp.

Okay I'm fucking dying, this is amazing. PMed.

In an effort to improve the product, the league has asked an outside source to look over the playoff lineups and determine which teams could have performed better.. Come up with a new set of lines for one of the teams eliminated in the playoffs, and explain why you made the choices you did. Must be at least 150 words.
Let's see I think the Blizzard are probably the most disappointed team that got eliminated since they had high hopes of winning it all this season so let's take a looksie at their lines and see where we can make some improvements hmmm so well I guess before we can fix them we need to look at them so here's their current lines:
5 vs 5 Forward

wow yeah that's rough let's see there are definitely some glaringly obvious fixes we can make so let's pull Connor Tanner out of the lineup and scratch him and give his minutes to Brady McIntyre and then wow none of their lines have any points in Physical everybody knows the playoffs are about G R I T and L E A D E R Y N E S S so how are the Blizzard players supposed to win if they're being told to play soft that's disgusting so with those 2 fixes we would have

Pick up to 3 topics below to write about! Each topic is worth '1' TPE. Each answer must be 50 words or more.

1. Between both rosters, create an all Challenge Cup starting lineup! (D, D, F, F, F, G) and in 50 words or more explain alittle about your selections.
2. Which GM in the finals do you believe has the tactical/Managerial advantage and why?
3. Between Beaujeaux Biscuit and Artom Zhumbayev which star goalie has the advantage over the other in this series?
4. Choose 1 young player from each team (either on their roster or a prospect of theirs) who you believe will be there teams next great player and why?
5. You want to buy tickets, hotel stay and airfair for one of the games in this series and you have to decide between a trip to West Kendall or Winnipeg.. what city did you choose and why?
2. Winnipeg definitely has the edge on the tactical/managerial side of things because they don't have the curse of the simmer coursing through their veins like look at JY's luck in the draft lottery after so many seasons of loyal service as simmer and look at how the Blizzard got upset and bounced out of the playoffs after acquiring Evok clearly having a simmer on the roster is cursed and JR95 is West Kendall's GM ~as well as SMJHL simmer~ so unfortunately for the Platoon that is why they lost.

3. Beaujeaux Biscuit definitely has the advantage in this series because he's an elite goalie from the greatest goalie factory in history aka Ireland I mean how could you even think about picking a non-Irish goalie over an Irish goalie you can't it's impossible because Ireland is so amazing and if you think I might be biased or exaggerating I would direct you to the last two IIHF Gold Medal Games good day.

5. Definitely Winnipeg lmao let's be serious even though Canada is cold and shit and garbage and I have no desire to go to Saskatchewan or Manitoba or wherever Winnipeg is it is by default better than West Kendall since West Kendall is near Miami and is like Miami except shittier which is actually very impressive but yeah that's a hard pass from me I have it on good authority that in Winnipeg there are only 3 things to do which is watch the Jets, go to the casino, and freeze to death but all 3 of those options sound a lot better than West Kendall's attractions which are like getting beat up I guess like I realize Winnipeg is a worse version of Minnesota which is impressive in its own right so this might be a hot pocket hot take but imagine how bad West Kendall is for me to pick the Wal Mart version of ~minnesota~ instead of it yeah.

Task 1

The Winnipeg Jets are this seasons story. They can into these playoffs third in the West and now find themselves with a shot at winning another championship and they’ve done it by Committee.

Pietra Volkova and Zach Evans both come into the finals with 12 points each. They are followed by Kylrad who has 11 and Corey Bears with 10. Weber, Visser and Spitfire all follow just behind. Volkova, Kylrad and Bearss are tied for team lead in Goals with 6. They are followed by the always dangerous Visser.

However the true Story and maybe the real Team MVP is goalie Zhumbayev who seems to have been rejuvenated in these playoffs. An 8-4 record and a 0927 Save percentage, his 2.34 goals against is perhaps the real reason Winnipeg has found themselves with a chance to hoist the cup. Twice the first star and splitting the second and third star once each, he’s bee a solid puck stopper for the jets as he has helped them soar into the finals despite some tough competition.

Task 3

S44 was a hard season fo Walter Hobbs. The Texas Renegades fought hard but just missed the playoffs. The highlight of the season for him tho was getting Career win #50 in the SHL. 2 seasons and a bit to achieve this milestone, but one done with pride. The 50th win put him 8th all-time in wins for a Texas goalie. After winning the Jester in his rookie season, the next milestone Hobbs was chasing was that 50th win. One he could have had the season prior, but finished S43 at 49 wins.

“ Most goalies would be really happy achieving this first milestone and maybe get stuck on it, I’m ecstatic about the achievement but I want to be 31 IN TEXAS HISTORY. Obviously getting to over 200 wins won't be easy, but i believe we can do it. ” Now quickly approaching win number 75, Hobbs has his eyes on a new milestone, Career win number 100.

A big step the West Kendall Platoon took to making the finals was the process of in fact, not making a trade. The last two seasons or so saw a lot of speculation that star defenseman Ludwig Koch Schroder would be headed out of West Kendall in order to play on a team that would allow his on ice production to flourish and match up to the talent level he brings to the game. A lot of teams were interested and made offers, but thanks to some solid work by the GMs of the Platoon they were able to keep LKS in the fold, and keep a huge presence on their blueline. Schroder is someone who plays better than his numbers, and the work in keeping him on the team for this season is a huge reason why we've seen the Platoon make their second finals appearance in as many seasons.

For me, the highlight of my season was breaking the 30 point barrier for what I hope is the first of many times in Daniel Karlsson's career. His rookie season wasn't too bad all things considered, finishing in second place for the Jesster, but that was a milestone I had hoped Karlsson would get so I was undeniably kinda disappointed not to make it, so having a solid second season in the SHL was quite a nice milestone to help move past that. With it, I got a new career high in goals, assists and hits, so really was an overall improvement in pretty much every area. It was disappointing that we as a team came so close to making the playoffs and missing slightly, but we're a young team with a lot of talent, and adding a superstar like we did last season in the form of Louie Garrett should really set us up well for the next couple of seasons as a competitive team, and even longer into the future with the calling up of some of our younger guys.

The lines I would make for the Edmonton Blizzard to use in the playoffs are

Scholz - Scholz - Scholz
Scholz - Scholz - Scholz
Scholz - Scholz - Scholz
Scholz - Scholz - Scholz

Scholz - Scholz
Scholz - Scholz

The reason I would use these lines is simple. Nikolas Scholz has the magnetism of st least 16 men and so should be given the time on the ice that as many people as that would receive. His talent on the ice has been clear for all to see for many a year and although he is getting into the later years of his career he can still chop it up with the best. In recent seasons the Blizzard had had trouble putting together their talent in the playoffs, so maybe putting all the responsibility of moving forward on one elder statesman. It might be best to practice this system of playing just one player before he times the playoffs come around, but I'm someone who likes to take a risk and so this one really does appeal to me as the move to make to get Edmonton over the hump and into the cup finals.

2. On paper, I would've said JR has the resume to back here. The guys won 2 cups already, has led WKP as a perennial cup contender and total powerhouse in the east, and has more than a few tricks up his sleeve to bring out in a cup final like this. Not to take anyone from Flappy who is an incredible GM also, but the experience of JR just edges this one in his favor as far as I'm concerned.

3. Both goalies have had incredibly successful careers, but I gotta go with Biscuit in this series. Why? Beaujeux got the job done for the Platoon last season and has truly made a name as one of the leagues better netminders in recent years. Zhumbayev has had a long and storied career too, but I'm a big fan of what Biscuit brings to the team and the way in which the Platoon play in front of him.

5. Well Winnipeg is known for having absolutely nothing to do there, and West Kendall is in Miami, so this one isn't exactly hard to pick. Although West Kendall is the hometown of a former SHL member of very questionable morals, which does lose it some points, it would still be by far the better of the two places to vacation and that's where I would choose. 305 all day bitch

This season was a unique one for Chris Partridge, as despite it being another largely unsuccessful season on the ice for the Pride as a whole, it ended up being a fairly phenomenal statistical season for me when considering the overall picture of being on a tanking team. For the vast majority of the season I sat above a .910 save percentage while facing by far the most shots of any goaltender across the league. In many cases this save percentage actually acted as a hindrance towards our overall tanking efforts, as I'd end up stealing games that we otherwise had no business winning. While unfortunate in the big picture for the team, this was a real turning the corner season for me as a netminder as I've put up fairly pedestrian numbers in the past, and it was very relieving to finally start making the saves I'm supposed to be making while even throwing in the saves that I have no business keeping out of the net from time to time.

2.  Which GM in the finals do you believe has the tactical/Managerial advantage and why?

It's time for bias-o'clock, as to me this is an absolute no contest of FlappyGiraffe. The guy started in the crucible of the Raptors locker room which has generated some phenomenal hockey talent and even better human beings, has established himself as the epitome of a "players manager" where he genuinely cares about the people he's putting out on the ice, and that respect he's shown towards his talent has been returned in kind with phenomenal on ice performances of players who want to return the trust placed in them. Flappy is a stud of a human and I'm pulling for him to take the cup home.

3.  Between Beaujeaux Biscuit and Artom Zhumbayev which star goalie has the advantage over the other in this series?

When it comes to this clash of two netminding titans, it's very hard to draw a line in the sand purely looking at statistics. Both had very comparable numbers in the regular season and have a strong supporting cast within their own half of the ice. However if I have to place one above another purely looking at the playoff picture, I must tip my hat to Artom Zhumbayev who has been an absolute monster this post season, facing more shots than biscuit whilst also having a substantial advantage in both GAA and save percentage, indicating that he's making the same amount of saves he's expected to make whilst also making the ones he has no business saving and minimizing what can be classified as "weak goals". Zhumbayev is my guy if I'm looking to win the cup.

5.  You want to buy tickets, hotel stay and airfair for one of the games in this series and you have to decide between a trip to West Kendall or Winnipeg.. what city did you choose and why?

The simple answer to me is Winnipeg. While I don't think the city is anything overly special and I don't even have the fellow Canadian bias that I otherwise should, but I've heard that polar bears are fairly abundant in certain areas of Manitoba and going to Winnipeg gets me closer to them which I personally think is pretty neat.

Task 1:

The Winnipeg Jets took a huge step forward with the acquisition of elite defenseman Spitfire in the offseason. The Jets wealth of offense at the forward position was no secret, but neither was their desire to bring in another top 4 defenseman to bolster their blueline. They were coming off an embarrassing 4 game sweep at the hands of the West Kendall Platoon at last season’s Challenge Cup Final, and looking to address their weaknesses, so naturally when Spitfire became available on the trade market the Jets jumped at the opportunity. Spitfire was a huge success for the Jets, putting up 34 points in 50 games, good for 2nd on the team among defensemen. Hard to argue with the fact that the acquisition was the right move to put the Jets on another level, when the player acquired makes the kind of impact Spitfire did. Will his abilities be the difference in the playoffs this season though?

Task 2:

Task 3:

The highlight of my season came in my GM role with the San Francisco Pride. At the trade deadline we were able to acquire Isak Odegard, who is a player that I’ve been interested in since his SMJHL draft, back when I was still the Montreal Militia GM. The timing may have seemed peculiar for a rebuilding team to go out and acquire an elite, though aging defenseman, but Isak was a special circumstance that required special consideration. An opportunity to acquire a player of Odegard’s talent doesn’t come along often, and I felt we needed to deviate slightly from the plan to make this deal work. With his addition to our defense our window of opportunity draws even closer, so long as we can convince Isak he should stick with us. I’m so happy with the boost of morale it has given our locker room, and the value it has added to our franchise.

TASK 1

Well, it's obvious the Jets of the great Canadian city known as Winnipeg wouldn't have made it to the finals of the Challenge if it wasn't for an free agency signing that they made this past off season. The General Manager of the Winnipeg Jets Garry Grease dropped a huge surprise bomb on the Simulation Hockey League this past free agency with top defenseman signing. Spitfire, who is a part time Overwatch hero along as a part time hockey player was set to hit the free agency market after spending his entire career with the New England Wolfpack. His rights were traded to Edmonton and a lot of fans and experts believe he would sign with the Blizzard however he did not. He signed with the Winnipeg Jets in what was an impressive signing by Garry Grease. Spitfire brought that skill that boosted the Jets and he brought what they needed. The Jets could very well be sitting on the golf course right now if the signing of Spitfiire never happened but it did and now they are Challenge Cup Champions.

TASK 1:

The most significant move the made by the Jets from last season to this season was the rooster addition of Spitfire. The addition of Spitfire helped secure up the Winnipeg defense and made the Jets one of the better defense teams in the league. In addition to that, the Jets did make the bold move of calling up rookies Manius and Blunt. Although considering that Blunt and Manius were tied for worst plus minus on the Jets with minus eight you have to ask yourself did they really help the Jets in getting to the cup finals. Probably one of the most important moves the Jets did make was calling up Nicholas Williams during the challenge cup series. This scrappy forth liner ended up scoring the first goal in the series winning game six of the SHL finals. This goal by the rookie in his second game in league set the tone for the game and lead the Jets to victory.

Words 161

TASK 3:

As a rookie on the Winnipeg Jets Lil’ Manius season his play this season was not exactly highlighted. Playing just under fifteen minutes does not give someone much time to have many opportunities where you can shine. I probably should say that the highlight of my season was Lil’ Manius first goal of his SHL career. Which occurred during the jets 7-0 blowout of the Texas Renegades but I won’t say that. Maybe I should say making the playoff my rookie season but I won’t say that either. I may have to go with game 230 which saw the Manhattan Rage beat the Winnipeg Jets but to also saw Lil’ Manius beat up Yannick Berger in his first ever SHL fight. By winning his first ever fight in SHL fight with having about 550 TPE lets the rest for the league Lil’ Manius physical game is real but no I will not go with that either. Because clearly my season highlight was WINNING the Challenge Cup!

• Between both rosters, create an all Challenge Cup starting lineup! (D, D, F, F, F, G) and in 50 words or more explain a little about your selections.
The starting lineup that I am selecting is as follows
D - Ludwig Koch Schröder – I would be fool not put on this defensive monster. I defenseman in the prime of his career.
D -Max Weber- Even though @MWHazard is basically inactive I still have to select weber for this team as he without question the best offence defenseman on either team
F - Zach Evans- Evan is the man and there was no way I would not select him for great leadership to this squad.
F - Jason Visser- How could I not include this 2000 TPE Jet great on this team? His offensive skills are second to none.
F - Dani Forsberg- I suppose I should include one WKP forward on this rooster but all kidding a side Forsberg is an offense leader for the Platoon and he is not afraid of physical play.
G - Artom Zhumbayev – Because there is no way I going to pick @ ".bojo" on the principal of the matter.

• Choose 1 young player from each team (either on their roster or a prospect of theirs) who you believe will be there teams next great player and why?
If you are looking for future Jet superstar you need not look any further then Lil’ Manius. Lil’ Manius is only a rookie but he has been consistently building and improving as a player.
As for the West Kendall Platoon, I guess my pick would Rex Kirkby as he is a rookie, I am too lazy to do, and more research on their rooster.

Championship week is here as the Winnipeg Jets take on the West Kendall Platoon in the S44 Challenge Cup finals!  The SHL is about to showcase its greatest individual event and you have been hired by the league to ensure that it all runs smoothly! You will be paid in TPE which is earned by completing the assignments below.  Each task will vary in TPE amount. You can earn up to '16' uncapped TPE. Feel free to do more than 16 TPE worth of tasks, but you won't get the credit for anything over that.

TASK 1: (Written, 3 TPE)
Choose one team in the series and talk about the steps they took to make the finals. Was it a free agent signing, or an MVP player, or trades, etc. Must be 150 words.
I'd like to discuss a move that the Winnipeg Jets made earlier in the offseason that led to them not only making the Challenge Cup Finals but winning it all. That move was signing @storm aka Spitfire to join the Jets and begin coaching the team. He came out of New England after the GM change that brought Ace in. Storm began coaching the lines for the Jets and although the Jets had a very rocky start in the beginning of the season, they brought it back and steadied themselves for a playoff run. On the ice Spitfire was certainly a player that has experience playing in the finals during his tenure with the Wolfpack which helped the Jets better match up against the previous champion West Kendall Platoon. During the regular season Spitfire was a 30 point scoring defenseman with a +20 rating while in the playoffs Spitfire had 13 points and was a leading powerplay quarterback.

TASK 3: (Written, 3 TPE)
In 150 words or more write about the top highlight of your season. whether it be your first goal, your first hat trick, first shutout, clinching playoffs, getting a career high in something, etc. Must be hockey related.
The top highlight of Shaquille Derisraka's season was having a new career high in points for the Whalers. Last season he played on the 3rd line for a 4 Star Cup winning Whalers and he kinda struggled along during that season. I would say he was a glorified face-off taker during the season. This season Shaquille quickly moved up to the 2nd line and managed to nearly put up 40 points on one of the highest scoring teams in the SMJHL. He scored 17 goals and 21 assists but most importantly he improved everywhere on the ice. He scored in more important moments, he was 2nd in hits, he had a 53% faceoff win rate. It's a highlight for Shaquille to improve that much in his 2nd season in the SMJHL. We didn't go as far in the playoffs as we would have liked however we still put up a good fight and that is what was important.

In an effort to improve the product, the league has asked an outside source to look over the playoff lineups and determine which teams could have performed better.. Come up with a new set of lines for one of the teams eliminated in the playoffs, and explain why you made the choices you did. Must be at least 150 words.
I'll be looking at the Toronto North Stars line up during the playoffs. They were eliminated in round 1 in 7 games but they were expected to potentially go farther if circumstances permitted. I think their lines are actually fine in terms of where each player goes and chemistry between everyone although I believe that if their strats were changed they might have been able to get lucky in game 7. My suggestion would be to change the strats for line 3 for the North Stars. Players like Mercer Church and Blabar Bananerstrom were -5 and were clearly issues against the Chiefs. They originally had a strat of 0-0-5 which I don't agree with. I would have chosen something like 1-4-0 and make them into a grit defensive line that works off of mistakes. This is also something that I'm sure veteran Kristian Eriksson would have been familiar with especially seeing how @Cynthia was brought back to the North Stars.

Task 8: (Written, 3 TPE)
Pick up to 3 topics below to write about! Each topic is worth '1' TPE. Each answer must be 50 words or more.

2.  Which GM in the finals do you believe has the tactical/Managerial advantage and why?

3.  Between Beaujeaux Biscuit and Artom Zhumbayev which star goalie has the advantage over the other in this series?

5.  You want to buy tickets, hotel stay and airfair for one of the games in this series and you have to decide between a trip to West Kendall or Winnipeg.. what city did you choose and why?
2. I would give the managerial advantage to the West Kendall Platoon aka JR95. JR is a simmer and has some notable experience already with GMing in the SMJHL and assisting Bojo. Nothing against FlappyGirafe however I think JR just comes ahead in terms of him being a more tenured member of the site and having more experience in a management position overall.

3. I think Artom Zhumbayev defintely has the advantage over Biscuit. Zhumbayev has played for many variations of the Winnipeg Jets over the years starting from a young buck playing for a rather stacked team to being a star goalie in an aging team. I think Zhumbayev is better than Biscuit as he plays in the west which tends to have a more stacked and deeper roster than the east which often fluctuates.

5. I chose to buy tickets, hotel stay, and airfair for the West Kendall area. It's winter and it's fucking freezing in Canada. Why would I want to go to Winnipeg during this time when I could go to sunny Florida, enjoy the sun and heat while also go to Disney land before the game?

Task 3: 3TPE
Geoff Higgins has had a pretty lacklustre career with the Los Angeles Panthers and this season was no different in terms of scoring and assists. This is by no means the Panthers organisations fault. It's actually Geoff Higgins' fault. He's been calling it in since he has been drafted by the Panthers. But now Higgins' career seems to be changing a little bit out of time. This season he put up a spectacular 141 hits. This isn't top 10 in the SHL but for a player like Higgins who was only speculated to play an average of 5 minutes a game, putting up a total of 141 is very impressive all things considered. Definitely Higgins' highlight and according to media rumour he is hoping to not only match it but to blow it way out of the water. Be aware of Higgins next year on the ice as he looks to extend that total to at least 180 and crack the top 10.

Task 4: 3 TPE [Sent In]

Task 6: 3 TPE
1 Matthew Auston - Jean-Luc Reflieux - Sophia Bennett 40 0 0 5
2 Yuri Boyka Jr. - Maximilian Wachter - Joshua Woodcroft 40 0 1 4
3 Mattias Enqvist - Lightning Jones - Geoff Higgins 20 1 2 2

With the Los Angeles Panthers line up, I wouldn't have changed too much. I would have completely eliminated the 4th line, which was taking up 7% of the ice time. With this elimination I would have lowered the 3rd lines time down to 20% but increase the 1st and 2nd line to 40% each. Next I would have swapped out Maximilian Wachter with Jean-Luc Reflieux. I believe pushing Wachter to the 2nd line would help even out the offensive presence on both lines. Wachter would take over Line 2 much like Bennet had done previously with Line 1. Putting JLR on the 1st line with Bennet would make JLR's age an after thought as both would put on a stellar performance. Lastly I increased the defensive outlook on the 3rd line, dimming down the offense a bit. The reasoning behind this is so Higgins can play his physical game and beat up the other players with the puck, hopefullying softening and tiring them up so the 1st and 2nd line could put up some real important goals.

TASK 1: (Written, 3 TPE)
I don't know if this is allowed, but it's something the West Kendall Platoon did that helped them make the finals. Or rather, something they didn't do. The team didn't really do much of anything after last season. If you don't remember, the Platoon won the Challenge Cup in S43, and they didn't really do much after that. I'd say that's a great plan. It's a bit of a risk, since you're not doing anything to directly improve your team, while other teams around you are....it does say a lot about the fact that the managerial team has so much trust in their players, that they would do what they have to, to succeed. I think I would've done the same thing, had I been the current GM of West Kendall...shout out to me being the co way back when. I think this was an important move, or non-move by the team for sure.

TASK 2:

TASK 3: (Written, 3 TPE)
I don't have a specific game moment that stands out for me this season, but I think just being on the bench for the first time with my new team. That was probably it. I've been waiting to make the roster for two seasons, and it's felt like a lifetime. I felt I was good enough to make it after my rookie season in juniors. So, to finally sit there with the Seattle Riot, felt so nice. The first time I skated onto the ice, did the laps and looked up...saw the crowd. I guess, the entire first game felt nice. It was an accomplishment, but it isn't where I want to stop. I didn't have the most eventful of debuts, but it was a great game nonetheless. I'll never forget the first time I smelt the Seattle hot dogs, and hear the "Let's start a Riot" chants. It was a great feeling.

Task 4: Sent in

TASK 6: (Written, 3 TPE)
For the forwards, I would go with Eric Pelletier as the starting centre, and he would be flanked by Noro Wozy on the left side, and Terrance Nova on the right. I'm not too sure why Minnesota had Pelletier on the second line this season. Or at least during the playoffs, I don't watch that. He's a natural centre, which is what the first line didn't have this season. They had three wingers on there. In addition, Noro Wozy and Terrance Nova are both natural snipers. That being said, they would benefit from a pass first type of player. There seem to be a lot of reasons for Pelletier to be on the first line. His faceoffs are great, and upon reading up on his game, I don't see any major deficiencies that would warrant demoting him to the second line, with 15% less ice time as well. Maybe they could have beaten WKP with this first line.

Task 8:

1.
Centre: Jason Visser
Left wing: Dani Forsberg
Right wing: Zach Evans
Defence: Ludwig Koch Schröder
Defence: Max Weber
Goalie: Beaujeaux Biscuit

This forward group is absolutely deadly. With Visser and Evans ready to pull the trigger at any second, I really wanted to go with Alex Light, but logic dictates that I should have someone to feed those two the puck. Thus, Dani Forsberg is an easy choice, and he's not a slouch either. Great players all around. Defence is easy, they're the two best on their teams, and Biscuit is a decent goalie.

2.  I think the Platoon have the absolute advantage when it comes to managerial strategy. JR has been the SMJHL simmer for quite some time, so he definitely has a good handle on everything STHS, at least, as good a handle as you can have. The sim is kinda eh. Edge: West Kendall.

5.  This is by far the easiest choice. I'll answer it with a story. Some friends and I drove to Banff this summer, and on the way, we stopped by Winnipeg for lunch. Not to bash on the city, but it was pretty bunk. One of my friends said, "Jed, we're never stopping here again". I agree, hopefully that answers your question.

For this task I will, of course, be talking about the NEW S44 Four Star Cup champion St. Louis Scarecrows. The Crows have done a great job of assembling talent through the talent to build an absolute juggernaut of a hockey team. Through the draft they've been able to add guys like Williams, Taylor, Cain, Freeman, Scruf, Pedersen, Moyer, and Nuck. Add to that the additions that they've made at the deadline, acquiring the talent of both Alex Winters and Philipp Winter, the Scarecrows set themselves up for absolute domination throughout the entirety of their playoff path. It's one thing to add the top tier talent that St. Louis has, but it's another to get them to be able to perform together. The foreward line of Nicholas Williams, Bernard Freeman, and Alex Winters carried the offense with a combined 38 points. Add to that the performance by the back stop of Aleister Cain, who posted a respectable .888 save percentage and a 2.64 goals against average, this team was not likely to be stopped during the tournament.

The top highlight of the season for me, personally, would have to winning the Four Star Cup with the great guys for the St. Louis Scarecrows. Coming off of Season 43 when we made our run to the Four Star Cup Finals, we all felt that we had a chip on our shoulders. We thought we were deserving of hoisting the trophy and walking into Season 44 as the defending champion. We had the skill and the pieces to be truly excellent and came up just shy of our goal. After having an absolute stellar draft, coupled with some monster free agency signings, the Scarecrows were determined to show that the outcome of the previous stanza was not indicative of our level of play. We came out hot and battled for the top spot in the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League all season long. When the playoffs came around, we made no mistake, dominating our early matchups before sweeping the finals in the easiest four games we've ever played.

In an effort to improve the product, the league has asked an outside source to look over the playoff lineups and determine which teams could have performed better.. Come up with a new set of lines for one of the teams eliminated in the playoffs, and explain why you made the choices you did. Must be at least 150 words.

The league has, for some reason, decided that GM's are incompetent and instead of making the decision to relieve them of their duties in an effort to put a better product on the ice, they've decided that some outside analyst is better suited to do the GM's jobs in an effort to "make the product better". That's why I'm here. I don't know anything about hockey, I'm just a numbers guy. Looking at the numbers for the Edmonton Blizzard, it's pretty easy to see where they dun goof'd in the S44 Simulation Hockey League Playoffs. First thing is first, they need to play this Teddy Cuddles guy for 60 minutes every single game. He was only averaging twenty minutes of ice time at a one (1) point per game clip. If you up his ice time to 60 minutes, he's going to be a three (3) point per game player. Pretty simple math, you know, cuz I'm a numbers guy. I would also up Brady McIntyre's ice time to roughly the same as Cuddles' because the opposing offense scored less when he was on the ice. Less goals against equals more wins. Once again, two plus two is four, minus one, that's three, quick maths.

2. The GM with the most experience has to be my main man Ryan King of the St. Louis Scarecrows. He's been doing the job of General Manager for the Scarecrows for quite a few seasons now, and has the acumen to determine the proper lineups, on top of being able to build a competitive and competent roster. He's accumulated three cups during his tenure and shows no signs of slowing down.

3. I don't really know those goalies at all too much, but I do know that Bojo is dumb and Zimbambwe has a really complicated name, and that rubs me the wrong way. If I'm going to choose one of them, I'm probably going to go with Zylophone because he won the cup. It was tough, but I think if you've won a cup you're probably going to be the better goaltender.

5. If I'm going to book a trip to see a playoff game in the finals I'd probably go to West Kendall. Let's be honest, no one wants to be in Winnipeg any time of the year. I'm not sure the players find the area nice. West Kendall is a suburb of Miami and they have beautiful women, beautiful beaches, and also Florida Man. Florida Man is undefeated in the news and shows no signs of slowing down.

When the Jets signed Spitfire the Jets fanbase honestly didn't know if he would fit into the mold of the Jets core that has been set in store for the past few season after the big acquistions of Kyle Kylrad and Crossfit Jesus to round out their top six. But Spitfire has proven he bring the same time of threat that he brought in NEW of a balanced game of offence and defense. He was able to take in the top lines of the opposition through out the regular season and help out the offence when needed in tight games. Was able to form a quick connection with Crossfit Jesus with their One T connection when on the ice in where opposing goalies wouldn't have a chance of stopping it. I truly believe won of the reasons why the Jets won the Cup was cause of the addition of Spitfire.

Individually and Team wise it's obviously winning the Challenge Cup this season. But I'll talk about Game 3 in the 2nd Round against the Blizzard where I was able to get the first star in the game. I've always seemed to find quite a deal of success against the Blizzard in games in the playoffs as the puck was just following where ever I was going and it was either generating a great scoring chance, setting up a teammate or putting in the back of the net. The team needed a boost in that game I was happy to provide for them as my philosophy is that the team comes first rather then your Individual stats and our team is definitely deep enough if that if someone is in a funk, there's always someone to fill that void until that player starts getting their juices going again whether on offence or on defence.

1. Between both rosters, create an all Challenge Cup starting lineup! (D, D, F, F, F, G) and in 50 words or more explain alittle about your selections.

C - Jason Visser
W- Crossfit Jesus
W - Alex Light
D - Max Weber
D - Ludwig Koch-Schroder
G - Artom Zhumbaev

I didn't go totally biased with my decision. But I know Visser and I play well together as he helps elevate my game to a whole another level, just imagine if the Platoon's Alex Light was on the same line with them. Max Weber and LWS is a good balanced d role. Either can assume the offensive dman while the other can be the defensive dman. And Zhumbaev is the better and more experience goalies out of the two.

2. Which GM in the finals do you believe has the tactical/Managerial advantage and why?

Well I'm writing this after the series finished and it would be Winnipeg. I know how hard Flappy works and how many tests he runs with lines if we're in a funk at any point of the season. If he feels there's an adjustment need to made, he does it after many tests and a high success rate of winning game before outputting those lines to the actual sim.

5. You want to buy tickets, hotel stay and airfair for one of the games in this series and you have to decide between a trip to West Kendall or Winnipeg.. what city did you choose and why?

Well if you want a REAL Playoff atmosphere you come to Winnipeg, perfect temperatures not too hot or too cold. The tickets to the game may be expensive but the experience is worth it. West Kendall is more the vacation spot and plus playoff hockey. It's a win win in my opinion.
