**Double pay about S46 draftee Karlstraße Scholz**

This past season saw the Edmonton Blizzard win it all in a great farewell to their GM's @karlssens S25 player Nikolaus Scholz. S25-45 what an amazing 20 year career! He is going out at 900 TPE and on top with the Challenge Cup under his belt in the final year it was just meant to be. (he also won the Challenge Cup way back in S28 when he was just a player and not GM.)

karl is a friend to many on this site for good reason. He has been awesome to deal with for me since day 1 of being drafted by the team. I love that he is really active overall and constantly in discord. I can message him whenever and he is great to chat with. I know he is so happy for all the players who won this cup with him. He felt really special for all the long term players on the team who have stuck around and it meant a lot to him to see them get a cup!

I want to take a look back at his amazing career!

Although most know him as a member of the Edmonton Blizzard he actually started his career on the now defunct Portland Admirals! He was drafted by them in the S26 draft in the 2nd round 17th overall! What a great pick for 17th overall!

So as we can see that draft had some big names and it's sad to see most of these names out of the league now. So what happened? Why did karl get traded?? What he a cancer in the locker room of Portland? Let's look back at that trade shall we!

So Edmonton went big to get karl! The Admirals were going through a full on rebuild and trading away all their assets. It turns out karl was a great dude all along! He was just named captain of the team in S27 and signed a 5 year deal before being traded in S28.

So what was next for Nikolaus Scholz? Well he became Co-GM of the Edmonton Blizzard in Season 33 just 5 seasons after joining the club. 2 Seasons later in S35 he was named full GM. He had a few tough seasons at the start of his GM career as they rebuilt but has made the playoffs in 6 of the last 7 season now! The one season they missed was S43 where the club went on an insane streak to lose 14 of their final 16 games when they were looking to be locked into a playoff spot prior to this crazy stretch.

As for his player's career he has been a dream player and leads the Blizzard in many statistically categories.

He is first in Blizzard History in career Assists and Points. His 302 goals is second behind the great Theo Kane. His career has been amazing and anyone who can last 20 years is something special. He was always more of a playmaker than a goal scorer and had 40 assists in Season 35! Internationally he played for Germany and won 2 Gold Medals!

Now Nikolaus' son Karlstraße Scholz is making easy work of the SMJHL after being selected 2nd overall by the Kelowna Knights last year. For the upcoming S46 draft Karlstraße Scholz already told every team except Edmonton to fuck off and let the Blizzard take him whenever they feel like. Sounds like other teams are just going to sit back and let him fall to his father's team. I can't wait for him to make his big league debut as he looks to be even better than his dad.

PS: Yes the rumors of his other son Sebastian quitting his promising hockey career after taking Ayahuasca in the Amazon jungle are true. He now lives with his "tribe" in Neumünster, Germany.
