Team Russia: Fight for Power

Unbeknownst to most of the league, Team Russia is in shambles. Under the tyrannical leadership of @Pris the team is beginning to crumble. The show would follow as @ztevans and myself, along with some of the younger members of the roster fight to usurp Pris of her leadership role. This is a story of betrayal, espionage, revenge, and passion. See the behind the scenes workings of one of the largest international teams in the world. See the horror that is training camp, the abuse and personal attacks from Pris towards her own, and make up your own decision. Is the team better, or worse under this authoritarian regime? The show will follow Team Russia from the first days of camp and through the entire international tournament. See how the players prepare for battle on and off the ice. This show will have you on the edge of your seat, prepare for a wild ride.

Looking around at hockey entertainment you can see there's not enough out there that shows us the pure skill of the players. During a game the high level of skills only show in flashes here and there because everyone is playing at such a high level. We need a show that shows off the skills of these players and shows the world just how talented the players are. Half NHL After Dark and half Survivor, a few chosen players would be selected to participate in skills competition while also playing on teams with points. The players would vote each other off until only two players remained and they would then do some head to head competition. If you've ever seen what the show Top Shot did with gun shooting, then that's what we are going to do with our show, "Iced". Upon elimination our host will say, sorry Nicolaj Muller @esilverm you've been iced! (sorry baby, it's all jokes!)

SHL Feud

The SHL Feud is a fairly simple concept as it is like the popular TV show, Family Feud. The premise of the show would be that each team has 5 contestants (the GM or captain as the team captain and 4 other team members) who will go head-to-head with another SHL team in where they try to get guess the most popular responses to surveyed questions. I think the show would be really funny, especially if the questions aren't hockey related as it will show another side of the players. I believe a weekly show running throughout the season would be enough, especially with the players busy schedules. I believe that a 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM time slot is appropriate, where the first half hour would be one show and the next half hour would be another. I think it would be a fun idea and I'm sure all the teams would be interested in participating. I would love to see a team of @FlappyGiraffe, @Troy_McClure03, @Bonk, @StamkosFan and @StadiumGambler going at it.

SHL 3 on 3 Showdown: Real Life

Everyone loves some easy TPE with the 3 on 3 Showdowns each season. But what if we mirrored the Showdown tasks with the real life users behind their SHL players? Does anybody in the SHL have actual hockey skills? Let's find out! This television show will be run once a week and mirror 3 on 3 showdown tasks for that week, but the real life people behind their SHL players will be dropped into a pond tournament to play against each other for real. Other SHL users will be able to choose with real life squad is going to when in real life, and they will be eligible for additional TPE as well. The producers' hope is that the players won't actually be good at hockey and it will be more of a comedy series with people falling over the ice everywhere. It would be broadcast late at night just due to language and physical violence on the ice. Since the great @~~Mike Izzy~~ is responsible for both the 3 on 3's and the casino, my pitch involves Mike as an executive producer on the show to greater harmonize the interplay with the new show.

The show I'd pitch for the SHL Network would be a prime time miniseries chronicling life after hockey for retired Platoon and Dragons winger Mikko Linna and his wife retired Wolfpack defensive legend Mia Landvik. The series would consist of an eight episode run, each episode running two hours in length. The show, filmed over a period of six months, would follow the pair as they adjust to life off the ice. The show would also include interspersed confessional type interviews discussing their time in the league, including some of the lesser known details of their personal and professional lives during that time. The climax of the series would recount a time--at what some would call the height of Landvik's career--when she instigated a now infamous on-ice fight with Linna which led to the collapse of their relationship. The show would run for two weeks in the 7 o'clock time-slot on Friday evenings. The title of the show would be The July Clause, named after Landvik's NTC.

My show would be “SHL Road To The Winter Classic “ which is similar to the NHL’s version. The show takes a behind the scenes look at two two teams who would be playing against each other in the current season,s SHL Winter Classic. There would be footage from the locker rooms of each team from practices, pre-game as well as in between periods in-game and post-game. There would also be player interviews and game footage of each of the teams’ games leading up to the SHL Winter Classic. This would be a weekly series and have a one hour run time, airing in prime time. In the initial airing of Season 48, the show will be following two of the most storied SHL franchises and two teams that have had a heated rivalry with each other in the past, the Winnipeg Jets and the Calgary Dragons. The two teams featured will change each season, depending on what teams will be playing in the big outdoor game, usually played at an outdoor football venue such as the Season 48 edition which will be played at Investor's Group Field in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Show name: Starters.

The idea of the show is to take SHL and SMJHL Goalies and goalie backups and pit them against each other a series of challenges to determine who will get the starting position for a given upcoming game. The show will continue over the course of the season with goalies from all teams competing. At the end of the regular season the goalie with the most amount of challenges won gets first crack at being able to start in the post season.

S1E1: Anaheim Outlaws
Tibuk Soonika competes against Patrick Niederreiter (@DieselJ) each other in 3 competitions to see who gets to play in Game #123 of the SMJHL Anaheim Outlaws vs Colorado Raptors. Challenges for this episodes will include:
1. Piano competition - Goalies are given classical music and are told they have 1 hours to memorize and playback one of Beethoven's classical works. The goalie with the best ability to playback will win.
2. Egg walk - Goalies will have to carry an egg on a spoon through an obstacle course, the catch? They are coated in BBQ sauce and meat while dogs are allowed to freely disrupt the contestants. The person who completes the course the fastest wins.
3. Scavenger hunt - Goalies will be required to obtain an extensive and obscure list of items provided by Anaheim's GMs @Dangles13 and @SpartanGibbles contestants are allowed to disrupt the other contestant, however due to recent events Tasers will not be permitted.

The Road to the SHL would be a show that follows 5 rookies as they get drafted to an SMJHL team and play in their rookie seasons and follow them up to their SHL draft day. As an added bonus we would get to follow all of their off-season training and IIHF play as well as any prospect tournaments the season has to offer. The show would be an hour long and air at 7pm EST every Thursday night. The show also has the potential to create spin off series which could feature us catching up with past season players to just following a group of players IIHF tournament. The first group of players to be featured will all be from the season 47 class of SMJHL rookies. Fans will have the ability to vote for one player they would like to see featured on the show. We hope you'll all tune in!

Brought to you by a very poorly funded dubbing company, coming soon to the SHL Network, your finest 3 AM-4 AM show: all the way from Japan, it's LuLungus' Bizarre Adventure: Outlaw Tendency. This anime covers the adventures of Louis Luther Outlünguss, the grandson of Anaheim Outlaws' mascot Outlungus as he travels from his native Switzerland to America with a purpose: to destroy the Scarecrow Syndicate that took over life in that side of the pond. LuLungus (voiced by Mathias Seger @Segi after a couple of pints), however, doesn't come unarmed, for he was given a spiritual power out of the cradle in the shape of a stand known as [Hanged Purple] (voiced by Collin Gibbles @SpartanGibbles), who he then uses to attack anyone who gets on his path. Through his path, he finds a group of friends to aid him in his quest such as the clumsy ninja Gazette (voiced by Yoshimitsu McCloud's sister Kunimitsu, while McCloud himself voices her stand, [Black Hole Sun]), former golf champion Weezer (voiced by Martijn Westbroek @JNH) and the Irish punk Flogging Molly (not voiced, although his stand [Emerald Star] is voiced by Corey Kennedy @SDCore).

Totally not inspired on what happened at last season's playoffs, I assure you.

The title of my proposed show is "SHL: Between the Pipes." This would be a one hour show that would air every Monday evening at 8:00 PM EST. The premise of the show would be to report on the anything and everything that has to do with the current goaltenders playing in both the SHL and the SMJHL. To start off each episode, the SHL analysts hosting the show would do a review of the previous week's action by analyzing any key goalie matchups that took place. To cap off this segment, the analysts would name a Goalie of the Week for each league (one for SHL and one for SMJHL) and show a highlight reel of those particular goalies' weeks. Another segment, Hot and Cold, would discuss three goalies in each league that are on hot streaks and three goalies in each league that are struggling. A preview of the upcoming week's matchups would take place, including predictions made by the analysts. Interviews with certain goalies each week would take place, where the goalies would give their own perspectives on all of the action. Finally, updated league rankings for save percentage and goals allowed average would be shown.

Show Title: One with the wolves
1 hour run time 9:30-10:30 PM

Each week one of the New England Wolfpack get paired up with a wolf and get to (have to) take care of it. Each episode will open up with a member of the team walking through the forest, finishing their journey at a wolf den where they will crawl inside and begin to bond with an animal. If they are lucky one will follow them, and if not... a wolf will meet them outside of the hospital. I wonder what zany adventures the team will have with these soon to be domesticated animals! Will Guy Zheng (@goldenglutes) analyze the running pattern of his duo and work that into his skating strides? Will Eko van Otter (@hotdog) eat only as a wolf would and form an unmistakable bond? Will I attempt to ride my wolf and get violently mauled for my efforts? Tune in soon to find out how many episodes it takes to get this shut down!!

House Hunters: SHL

Every time a player gets traded to a new city they have the opportunity to participate in the show. As they need to find a new place to live, the SHL will set them up with a real estate agent to find three options. The player and their family or whoever will then go check them out and decide where to stay. I’m sure with the amount players get paid too this could result in some seriously interesting houses to look at. But, maybe some people prefer living modest so it also shows off what someone’s lifestyle might be like. It would be a good way to see some more personality from the players as well as get to meet their family members. Not only that but it takes out the hassle of needing to find a new place after being traded. All in all it’s a win-win and might attract a new market of fans who might normally not watch ice hockey.

Chill With SHL Stars and Steve Ross

The late great Bob Ross had his son Steve come on his show a few times and in one of the most classic episodes (Bob Ross - Mountain Lake Falls (Season 29 Episode 6)) he really speaks to the heart of many in a unique way.

I think we need to get in touch with Steve and ask him to come back and host a painting show where he brings on SHL stars who try and follow his instruction. The show would be super chill and Steve would paint and tell us amazing stories of his family and his time on the road painting across the beautiful United States. He could come up to Canada for some on the road episodes and visit the Canadian clubs. To see their favorite SHL athletes embrace painting as a fun hobby will help make more kids interested in giving it a try. Steven always teaches from a positive mindset and let's himself know he is doing great all the time because he is doing it for himself and he is going to enjoy it. This could help chill the fuck out some of the people on the site.

Show proposal: The Great SHL Bake Off
Time: Sundays @ 8pm - 9pm
Duration: 60 min (including Geico commercial breaks)

Similair to the Great British Bake Off, 16 SHL players, one of each team, will be invited during the off season to perform in a bake off competition. A member of each team will be selected at random. Each week there will be a themed assignment to impress the judges with their baking skills. Every round there will be one person eliminated from the competition and eventually two people will compete in the finals, which will be a best of seven bake off series to determine the ultimate bake off champion. The winner will receive The Lady Bake Off Cup.

The judges for The Great SHL Bake Off will be:

The series is quite popular in Britain and in the rest of Europe. It will be great for promoting the SHL in Europe and to reach the feminine target group.
