First Media Bonus

So the SHL is in love with advanced stats for some reason, even though it might not make that big of a difference in STHS which is a random bullshit rng sim engine, but some people still like to track all these advanced stats, half of which I don’t even know what they mean. There’s some spreadsheets out there tracking all these stats, and in a recent CC2 meme article I saw some of these mentioned. So I decided to add up all the stats mention, and put them into per 20 minutes played because that’s what all the cool stats do now, and see who had the higher number, which might’ve meant they were better or not. Turns out CC2 was 9 higher than Marius, so that can be interpreted however by the Award Committee and Boom.

After doing this I decided to make a spreadsheet doing this for almost every player in the league in S48, players who played less than 10 games, scored 0 points, or for whatever reason were in one spreadsheet but not the other were cut to make it fair for everyone. I think I ended up cutting out about 30 players, which I would’ve liked to include and you can blame the spreadsheet creators who tracked all these advanced stats for.

My new advanced stat is ALoSSAUItOMSS/60 or the longer version A Lot of Shitty Stats Added Up Into One Mega Shitty Stat/60. Essentially my method was that I added up every stat listed for each player, but I removed all duplicate stats listed. I then divided the number by the minutes played, and multiplied by 60. I sorted these numbers into a league wide rankings, positional rankings, and then team rankings, where I added up the ALoSSAUItOMSS/60 of each player on a team and called it the team’s total.

GM’s or anyone in the league if your looking for a stat guy let me know because I think this advanced metric is revolutionary and could change some teams completely

What’s shocking is that a lot of the good players are in the 400’s/low 500’s whereas the plugs are on top like Khan Smeb. I guess putting this per 60 really helps out the benchwarmers.

Some big names in this list like Ola Wagstrom @StamkosFan , Kit Smeb @kit, and Alex Winters @"39alaksa39". Not sure why this is the case, but I don’t want to investigate. All these people have pretty high ice time so they might be getting hit hard by the per 60. The numbers are all pretty close though, and there isn’t a huge difference between the bottom 25 like there is between the top 25.

The average rating of all defenseman is 441.9433396. Which I’m guessing is lower than the forward average because of the faceoffs that forwards take, but defenseman also have higher shots blocked and probably higher other numbers, so it’s about even.

Hamilton has Zidek, so it’s not really a surprise that they are in first. Chicago has Khan Smeb which explains where they are. NOLA has 2 people in the 600/700’s, but no one super outstanding, which just shows the depth of the team. Toronto seems to have all the average players with 2 players in the high 300’s but no one above 500.
