Yea we all saw how things only got worse when he came back from the first suspension so I'll hope for the best but expect the worst after these 2 weeks lol

What an absolute joke of a ruling this is. Ruutu has proven, time after time, for months that he is just going to continue to troll the league. You have a member literally saying he makes the site feel less safe by being on it. This isn't some one off rant from him, this is a continuation of the exact same behavior he's exhibited for months on end.

I don't know what ruutu has on HO that makes you feel like you need to coddle his balls in any punishment you give him, but this is fucking disgusting and a blemish on the HO and the Owners. You've banned people like wiki, formx, and PenKnight. Somehow you let this muppet skate, knowing that nothing is going to change on his end.

There have been 2 shl teams that have had to cut him due to his actions now. What, just one season apart? One just days before the playoffs started, which should speak volumes. I'm blown away that Nevada hasn't cut him, to the point where I wouldn't even want to be associated with the team at this point. I'm honestly surprised that @Jearim hasn't cut ties with him in the minors.

When I retired my player the other day, my plan was to recreate when you (ho/owners) finally realized you had a cancer on your hands and had a perfect opportunity to cleanse yourself of it. It's mind blowing that you think "aw hell mate, 2 weeks will teach him a thing or two!" The NHL is more consistent with their punishments. A decision like this makes me glad I'm no longer a part of the league, and I don't know if I'll even bother to recreate if you ever get your head out of your asses and actually remove the cancer.

What a fucking joke.

I have no doubt that things will get worse but I have faith that the HO will act when that does happen. They've a process they need to go through so that there's no potential to claim impropriety. It's shitty, that much I will agree with. But keep the faith bby.

I mean if he does come back and continue to do this he gets banned, I don't really see how the second harshest punishment they can give him is a "joke". HO isn't coddling his balls at all this is literally just the process, and I say this as someone who feels/knows the site is better off with him permabanned.

If he doesn't learn his lesson after this second punishment, which based on the past is likely, then he gets perma'd. I don't understand the giant outcry about this? He's been given the ultimatum and a ban is the next step from that.

And again, I don't think he'll change and would've been happy to see him permabanned, but the process is the process and it should be followed imo.

I would have to agree that the process is the process if the process wasn’t ignored in the past

You mean for other times he's done the exact thing that got him suspended here that he wasn't punished for? Yeah he probably merited a second suspension long before this one I'd agree.

Or when PenKnight got banned for being a troll, but was never suspended or disciplined? And no ban post was ever made? The process is only the process when they want it to be.

Penknight was suspended and then went on Twitter and Posted here regarding sexist rants, aimed at specific users. He was directly attacking members for their gender... Penknights ban was given by me, I don't regret it, but I should have posted. I didn't, you can't look at these two as the same. Rutuu is trolling, excessively, but since his first suspension, he has not directly attacked a user for nearly the same things PenKnight did. If you want to be mad about no posting, be mad at me, do not use this for your argument of why we should jump up a suspension for a user.

I can give you specific reasons why the decision was made. I get you are angry he isn't outright banned, but trolling the league which is what he is doing, is very different in my opinion then directly attacking members for their gender or gender identity.

Also, Taylor Ham, not pork roll.

I don’t mean for this to be mistaken as an official comment from the Owners, I just wanted to share my own views and why I didn’t, and don’t, support a permanent ban of jRuutu right now. I say that with the caveat that I agree posts like SDCore’s, suggesting maybe this site isn’t the right one for Ruutu – that’s a sentiment I agree with. But to me there’s some important reasons we haven’t outright banned Ruutu at this point, despite the likelihood being that his behaviour is obviously trending in that direction.

jRuutu was initially suspended for some horrific and hateful comments, ones which I and many others have challenged him on publicly. In the time since, his behaviour hasn’t improved much – but it has been of a different nature. Ruutu, it seems clear to most of us, trolls the site under the guise of taking the highroad, in a textbook display of whataboutism. What Ruutu has not done is directly attack members in the time since, he hasn’t sent porn directly to targeted members, he hasn’t questioned a woman’s ability to participate equally on our site.

Ruutu is a troll, and he has frustrated many users. I appreciate that. I appreciate that his comments and presence turn a lot of people off, and can be damaging to how welcome people might feel around the boards. To the people who feel that, I hope that this suspension in lieu of an outright banning for now, is not taken as Head Office siding with or protecting Ruutu in any way. I think you will find that some Owners, former Commisioners, and members of Head Office, have been among the most outspoken on challenging Ruutu on his beliefs and persistent behaviour. I take exception, then, to the idea that Ruutu is being coddled by HO.

Ruutu has been suspended a second time for comparatively less than many people who have been. He has been suspended for a second time for behaviour completely separate from the direct hateful rhetoric that he was suspended for the first time, because Head Office understands his behaviour has continued to trend in a negative direction and that he is increasingly offering nothing to the community.

But Ruutu has not been banned yet, because this isn’t Survivor. We don’t ban by petition or popularity. Believe it or not, a lot of Head Office and Ownership is with you on a personal level – there have always been members we, on an individual level, would like to hear less from. But at a Head Office level, setting precedents is something that has to be taken seriously, and banning by witch-hunt is not the precedent any of us want to set.

If that is taken to be an endorsement of Ruutu’s continued negativity, that’s unfortunate.

Something happened on the day he died. Spirit rose a metre and stepped aside.
Somebody else took his place, and bravely cried. I’m a blackstar, I’m a blackstar.
