Task 1 - +3 TPE

Task 2 - +3 TPE

It is true, there have definitely been some great general managers in the SHL over the past many seasons. And it is also true that there have definitely been many bad general managers in the SHL over the past many seasons. However, I would have to say that I really appreciate the general managers that I have on the Chicago Syndicate, jnh and Corey. I would say that they are definitely among the top general managers in the entire Simulation Hockey League, and they have done a great job of assembling a wonderful team that is great to talk with and be around and also play on the ice with because that is what we are all meant to do in this league right? It has been a pleasure to be a part of their team, and the two general managers have also made some great moves while I have been a part of the team to make it such a great place to be.

Task 6 - +4 TPE

a) A cup win in the Franchise Hockey Manager era is definitely worth more to me, but that is mainly because my player's career started in the Franchise Hockey Manager era. I was actually in a league with STHS before, and from what I have heard, SHTS is not that deep of a game and that we are definitely in better hands with Franchise Hockey Manager.

b) Fine, I will be honest, and is it really that strange that four of the teams in the regular season end up as four of the top teams in the playoffs? I guess if we really want any team to be able to win any given game we could change our league by determining each game's winner with a coin flip!

c) Well, I would say that is pretty rude to Hamilton as a city, so I would not necessarily relocate their team just because their team is guilty of being too good. If I had to pick a city, I would not mind having a team in Vancouver since that is where I am from.

d) The best player to not make the final in the past two seasons is Shion Okamoto. I really deserve to be in the final. The fact that I have not been in the final is a travesty. However, Chicago not being in the finals is a win for parity, right! So everyone should be very happy!

Task 12 - +3 TPE

Milestones

Task 13 - +3 TPE

With all of this fuss about parity, maybe we should hand out a trophy for the worst team in the league? After all, soccer leagues have things like the wooden spoon. Although, usually it is an embarrassment to be a bad team. However in the SHL, apparently we want anyone in the league to win even if their team is trash, so winning the wooden spoon would actually be a great thing and an honour in the SHL. In fact, we should find a way to give out a trophy to every single team in the SHL! Ignore the fact that a lot of general managers work hard to have the best tactics and figure out how to make their team win. Who gives a fuck about that! I really think we should go back to the idea of determining games by random coin flip, since I have heard people in the league say they do not even want teams to have a tactical advantage anymore. If teams put in the work, they should be rewarded.

- There are so many good general managers over the illustrious, wonderous, completely glorious history of the simulation hockey league, I mean...some real damn gems if you ask me. Up there towards the top has to be my man Nike. This guy took over the Manhattan Rage, a team that had never won a single challenge cup up to that point, just a team struggling to even make the playoffs and in need of a big change, someone that was willing to take risks and go for it all, and that is just what Mr. Nike did. A season after taking helm in Manhattan, he went to work, trading for the absolute stud of a legend, the sexiest, most arrogant, most boisterous asshole in all the land, Daniel Merica, to come in and lead the offense and help out as co general manager. Following that, Nike brought in a few other castoffs and publicly decried individuals like Buster, CJ and Maxy. All of these moves, which most general managers wouldn't have even considered, led to Manhattan winning the cup in only his second season as GM.

There are a lot of "could-have-been" draft picks in the SHL, but let's have some fun thinking about someone that busted hard. Write about their potential and where they were picked, and how that franchise could look *if* they had in fact panned out.
- Oh boy, another gotdamn doozy. There have been so many utterly awful busts over the years, but you know what? I need look no further than me, myself and I, because while I have done a great job of masking my failures, boy do they still exist. We could start with Scotty motherfucking Reay. After I retired the greatest player in history, Daniel Merica, I recreated as Scotty Reay after being named the co-gm over in Minnesota, back when they were the Chiefs and had some cahonies. Well Reay wasn't worth spit, and was a complete fucking bust. Granted I was pretty burnt out at this time, but still, I was wildly disappointing for Minnesota. Don't worry, it doesn't end there my friends. How about the original Jimmy Wagner? not the fucking poser piece of shit stringer wearing Panthers version. The goalie type, the guy who went #1 overall in the SMJHL and then who I proceeded to bail on. That bust. (words: 165)

b. Be honest, would we have seen the same final 4 as last year (Chicago, Texas, Hamilton, Buffalo) had BUF/HAM and TEX/CHI not run into each other in the second round?
c. Hamilton has a population of roughly 5 people. Where would you relocate the franchise?
d. Who is the best player to NOT make the final in the past 2 years?

A: I think this is an easy one, definitely the Simon T Hockey Simulator era, as this was much more random (until hamilton broke it, of course, so disregarding that). With FHM, it feels much easier to win the cup, just stack your team full of loaded players, test sim a thousand fucking times (still looking at you, hamilton) and repeat. (words:60)
B: Oh yeah, without question. Going back to the previous question, again, it's much easier to predict what is going to happen. I expect the same thing to continue happening until another team or two get built up in the same fashion and begin to emulate the top four teams. The challenge cup will continue to feature this four teams for quite some time.(words: 63)
C: I wouldn't ever relocate Hamilton, I think there are certain teams that shouldn't ever be moved, as there is too much history involved. I deeply opposed moving the Platoon as well, because the population matters absolutely not in a fake simulation league. Gun to my head for the purposes of this prompt, I guess Boise, Idaho, fuck it.(words:58)

- Well, well, well, look at what we have here. I think everyone and their mother was expecting the hamilton steelcocks to win the challenge cup final once again. Just take the Buffalo stampede locker room for example, we all just said quick sim this shit so we can get the off-season because we know hamilton is gonna drag their thick, meaty balls across the renegades face. BUT GUESS WHAT DIPSHITS, never underestimate the Texas, because as we all know, everything is bigger down there, including their dicks, in case that wasn't clear on where I was going with that. Anyway, yes I think they are the clear winner, anytime you beat hamilton you deserve it. (words: 115)

Now that we have the exact same fucking teams in the final again, let me ask, is parity an issue in the SHL? How do we combat this?
- Well yeah, I think it's pretty fucking clear there isn't alot of parity in the simulation hockey league right now, but unlike some people i don't really know if it's a bad thing. There are always going to be teams near the top, regardless of what sim engine we have. I think that if you want to work towards reducing the massive fucking grand canyon sized gap between the top teams and everyone else, you could reduce the amount of adjustments teams can make, so that way teams that spend an unreal amount of time test simming (again, lookin at you hammy clammy) don't have quite the edge. I think people have lost sight of the fact that this league was created as a fun, light, easy going league. We have strayed quite far from this foundation. The young teams are basically fucked until the top teams start dealing with retirement, but even then i don't expect much to change as top players will continue to swarm there to win cups.(words: 171(

a. Interesting question, I think a cup in the sths era is worth to me more. First of all, I only have one sths cup and 4 fhm cups. Secondly, I feel like winning cups in fhm is just too easy. Whereas in sths even with meta builds you had maybe a 60% chance to win.
b. I think buffalo could have beaten baltimore or tampa had they played in the second round, but to answer the question, no, I don't think so because chicago probably wouldn't have made it past the second round anyway. They're a good regular season team no doubt but they just lack that clutch gene in the playoffs.

Congratulations to Texas, I would say it wasn't a predictable final since most people probably expected hamilton to win, and there wasn't a clear winner because this series went to game 7 with many close games. I don't think it was an exciting final either because an exciting final is when hamilton wins the cup and that's what most people want to see, it didn't happen this time as hamilton did not win the cup so it was pretty disappointing to most people. Again congratulations to Texas on a well deserved win but it was pretty boring because people didn't get to see what they wanted which was another hamilton cup win.

Parity is not an issue in the shl and I wish people would look at the facts before saying that. And the facts are
since the switch to fhm, every single team has made the playoffs at least once. That's right, every single team. That seems like parity to me.
You can define parity as when any team has a 50/50 chance to win the cup or worse. Let's look at the cup winners since s53
53 ham
54 nola
55 buf
56 ham
57 chi

61 ham

Hamilton (4 cups in 10 seasons, 40%), Buffalo (2 cups in 10 seasons, 20%), Texas (2 cups in 10 seasons, 20%).
So all of these teams are more likely NOT to win the cup than to win the cup in any given season.
I believe that is indeed parity. In fact, shl has too much parity and we should abolish the salary cap and encourage dynasties because parity is just boring.

You log on to the SHL. Oh shit gotta do your Finals Predictions. Yay Hamilton Texas finals, love shl parity. Weird, the title says s61 finals predictions but its s62? But wait, all the PTs are labeled s61, we're on activity check #388, and no one is complaining about regression. You must have woken up back at the start of the S61 Finals! What do you do differently now that you know how the next season will play out. Change some of your casino bets? Predict some drama? Cheat at primetime?

For starters, I would not bet on NEW for casion because they missed the over by a couple of wins and lost me money, what an absolutely terrible idea it was and I have no idea why I did it in the first place. I would've also paid more attention to the fantasy draft because this was the first time ever when I didn't get any fantasy tpe. Pretty much all of my picks busted or underperformed. If I had done any research I probably would've realized that it wasn't a great idea to draft LO3 in the first round. I also shouldn't have drafted my player lol because my player regressed a lot compared to last season, though to be fair I took myself with the last pick which was no big deal. Oh and I should have swapped for someone early because there were some good forwards available but I never did. So I would've ended up with more money and more tpe if I could do it differently.

I don't know what is so interesting in Hamilton and I don't know what a steelhawk is either, so I'll be dragging this team to a real city in Ontario like Ottawa, everyone already hates what's in Ottawa so why not add Hamilton into the mix as well. Also maybe rebrand but I'm not sure

The best player to not make the finals is definitely Connor O'Byrne of the Anaheim Outlaws. O'Byrne is a player who has an impact on both sides of the ice, he is an all around guy, a real first guy in, last kind of out player. Someone every coach lives. Him not making the finals is a tragedy.

Yeah wow that final sure was thrilling, not. No, a Texas Hamilton final was not exciting at all and was extremely predictable. Congratulations to Texas on the victory as they do have some people I know and like on that team but I will not pretend them and Hamilton making the playoffs is particularly thrilling or something I want to see. The games might have been exciting, I didn't watch, but it appears some of the games were close and there were some scoring efforts late by Hamilton to make it somewhat more stomacable despite how boring it all really is. Hopefully things improve soon.

The season was S27, at the time the Calgary Dragons had not won a cup in 17 seasons. They had a young GM in Esa Anrikkanen who brought the team to the cup in just his 4th season. They had recently named a new Captain, Kriss Labsvards @kikish18 a Latvian member who was a great player and team leader. The Dragons found themselves up against a tough Hamilton Steelhawks team who squeeked out to a 3-0 lead in the series. A young GM Esa Anrikkanen reached into his bag of sths tricks and found a new line up and system and one game at a time the Dragons completed the first reverse sweep in the cup finals in SHL history, winning game 7 in overtime on a goal by rookie Michael Burch, his only goal of the playoffs. Another historic part of this was Kriss Labsvards was the first Latvian Captain in SHL history to lead his team to the challenge Cup. It was the first cup of 6 cups for me personally and the cup that started the historic Dragons run of championships that last through S50. A milestone cup for many in the franchise and certainly one to remember. The only other team that completed a reverse sweep in the cup finals since was the Dragons, again in S50.

a. What is worth more to you, a cup win in the FHM era or the STHS era?

Obviously the sths era was worth more, that's what the SHL was for 52 seasons of your 62 season histoery. That's what SHL is to me, sths, where a team could win without being one of the top 4 teams in tpe. If you were a strong team and had a good system you could make a run to the finals, it wasn't automatic that the best teams always won. I think that's healthy for the league and keeps everyone having a chance every season.

b. Be honest, would we have seen the same final 4 as last year (Chicago, Texas, Hamilton, Buffalo) had BUF/HAM and TEX/CHI not run into each other in the second round?

Yes obviously. It would have been exactly the same final 4 as the year before because that's what we get with fhm, the same thing every year, the rest of the teams, let's say the teams in the 5-8 range are all playing to win 1 playoff round at best then lose to one of these teams, usually in a sweep.

Most of the SHL quitting out of spit after the same teams are in the finals 4 seasons in a row seems like a real possiblity tbh, so I'll play along.. If I was allowed to create 4 other players they would be named, Esa Parmalainen (Finland), Esa Parmchuk (Russia), Esa Parmessier (Canada) and Esa Parmageddon (USA). Parmalainen would be a puck moving defenseman, offensive powerplay specialist. Parmchuk would be a sniper and high scoring speedy winger with no defense. Parmessier would be a two way center with good offense and a focus on defense and have some physicality. Parmageddon would be a bruisin power forward who hit everything that moved and created havoc on the ice, little bit of scoring when he's developed. They would all end up Calgary because that's where my players play and tbh I can't see myself every playing anywhere else. All their careers pan out great and they win a few championships together.

I think @BarnabasCollins would be a great PT director because I can gaurantee you every PT would be about food. So obviously I would love to see him in this role and I'd enjoy his pt's very much. He's very creative and knowledable about all things food and has is a true hockey guy so he could combine those and we'd have pt's about food and hockey. Seems like a perfect fit to me. Design your teams concession stand menu, talk about your teams pre and post game meals, etc. That being said I'm sure it would be complete torture for him as many SHL jobs end up being in the end, so I would not wish this job upon him, but I do want to do more pt's about food. I mean I don't think there's been a pt about food in a long time. There should be at least 3 pt's about food a season, why the hell there's not I will never know.

So i just joined up in the Simulation Soccer League (SSL) which literally just started about a month ago. Season 1 is about to wrap up and there are a plethora of S2 prospects, a solid amount from here the SHL, and expansion is on the horizon already from 6-8 teams next year. It’s been a blast so far and it’s incredibly easy to earn TPE, and at an accelerated rate with the average weekly activity and affiliate PT claims earning a preposterous 6 TPE. The pros of the league are definitely that it’s just started. What better way to learn the history of a league than start from the ground up? Probably the best thing about the league is the fact you can actually watch your player play. Yes your not tripping you read that right, you can watch them play. Using Football Manager 22 the simmers stream the games just like in the SHL, but the games are live and you can watch the play on the field. it’s truly exciting to watch and to be a part of, i highly encourage any soccer fans to join.

So as being a player on Hamilton, the playoffs were pretty predictable as far as us making it to the finals. I think we are just clearly one of the best teams in the league, so I think if we dont make it to the finals its considered a disappointing season. The finals were much more exciting than last year's sweep victory for us, but seeing as how the finals ended in a game 7 loss for us, that was also a much more disappointing result. I think we played well enough to win it all, but fair play to the Renegades, they played a great series and definitely can say they earned the finals win

Now that we have the exact same fucking teams in the final again, let me ask, is parity an issue in the SHL? How do we combat this?

I definitely think the SHL has a big parity problem. It seems like for a while there are always those really long dynasties that you just can pencil in as the champs. Some of that comes down to building a great team and a really solid team culture, but I do think sometimes its just too easy to keep a good team good. I'm not really sure what to do with fixing this issue. it seems like minimum contracts are just a given for most anyone, is money perhaps too easy to come by? Maybe could make jobs pay less, or just tighten the salary cap a bit. Also you could raise the salary minimums, since 4M max does seem a little low all things considered. That could force more player movement, or at least make it so that teams that want to make a dynasty have to have overhaul a lot sooner

In the not so distant future (s64), 4 Texas Hamilton finals in a row have seen most of the SHLers quit out of spite. Only a select few remain. Head Office reeeeaaally likes having 20 teams so they have now allowed every user to have 5 players to fill the void of everyone who left. Name your other 4 players that aren't your current player, select their positions, and decide their focus and path in the league. Postulate where they end up after the draft and how the players pan out.

Awesome, I love making more players. I assume I still only have to do one PT for all 5 players right? I will operate under that assumption. In that case I will probably make a full team more or less. I will make the shoot first center, Hugh G. Wang, who hails from Hong Kong. I will put in net the new legendary goalie, cousin of Richard C. Hocolate, Richard C. Heese. He will naturally come to Calgary and be pretty awesome, though probably smell really bad. I will have a right winger named Skatefast McChunky, the best player name I could ever think of. He will be 5'6" 400 pounds, but will be max speed. Basically imagine a bowling ball on the ice, or imagine if Danny DeVito could play in the NHL. My last player I think would just be Big Goon, another enforcer defenseman. He would only go to teams that have LPLL, and would only play on the same line as him. That line would get 1000 PIMS a season

(Maximum of 12). *if you’re claiming this and have a different username on the affiliate's site then you need to state that in your post to get credit.
So claiming 10 ISFL TPE = 12 SHL TPE

HO didn't feel like making a job posting for PT Director so they just put you in charge of picking the new one. So elect a new PT director, tag them, and explain why you think they'd be a great fit for the job. Or just someone you want to torture.

Given this great responsibility, my choice for the new PT director is @Gwdjohnson. Gabe was previously the SMJHL PT director, so he has plenty of experience in a very similar role. An extremely active user like Gabe who never misses an activity check (don't go and verify this, just trust me) would welcome the extra work and responsibility that came with the position, and he's told me personally how much he misses being SMJHL PT director. Not only would I make him PT director if given the ability to by HO, I would implore HO to do it anyway. I don't care that he hasn't applied, make it happen. Looking at his post history, there was an error with the deadline for the last PT he ever posted, and I know he doesn't want to go out on that low. Gabe is back. (143 words)

4. Written, 3 TPE, Rules (150 words min.)
There have been a lot of rule changes in the SHL. Where do you think these changes have gone right, where do you think they have gone wrong? Would you ever want to go back to a previous way of doing things? Do you think the SHL is fine as is?

I assume this was written in lieu of the changes to regression in the past season to help smooth out parity. I'll have to say that the move to make regression harder is a bit of a stumper for me. When we look at the issues with the league it comes more from meta building and backroom deals between friends. Making players drop off in regression quicker does nothing to solve either of these problems. One of the defining features of the SHL was the ability to have a player last for in-game years. Something that really doesn't add to the fun is spending two years consistently earning to having one or two seasons as a top dog in the league. Honestly, if anything, it discourages people from wanting to build players in this league as it requires a consistent grind to be anything close to good in the SHL. Other leagues, such as the ISFL, allow players to be much better earlier in their career. My rookie season had me notching more than 100 tackles and 6 sacks as a rookie linebacker. The SHL simply doesn't allow you to be impactful until you're around 1200-1300 TPE and you're still pretty bad. There needs to be changes to the league that make meaningful parity shifts. Archetypes needs to happen. People need to be capped at certain levels in their builds. Because the SHL has a problem that regression changes won't fix. Overall I haven't liked many moves the league has taken to combat problems because they only do things skin deep. No meaningful real change.

6. Written, up to 4 TPE - Grab Bag: Pick up to 4 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words.

a. What is worth more to you, a cup win in the FHM era or the STHS era?

STHS era seems more meaningful to me as it was a lot harder to repeat. Once you get the right players in place with the right tactics and meta setup in FHM you're pretty set to be good. Maybe STHS was just more random and could be considered the worse sim engine. But winning with a more random sim engine and doing it multiple seasons in a row was really an accomplishment.

b. Be honest, would we have seen the same final 4 as last year (Chicago, Texas, Hamilton, Buffalo) had BUF/HAM and TEX/CHI not run into each other in the second round?

Most likely we would have seen the same. Hamilton just matched up with everyone in the East the best of anyone and Texas matched up with Chicago very well. They still had to play each other and the team with better setups and tactics won each time. So there is no way that there was any other final than we saw this season.

[63 Words]

c. Hamilton has a population of roughly 5 people. Where would you relocate the franchise?

Salt Lake City. We need to have a cool team in Salt Lake. Or maybe we should just move the Raptors to Salt Lake City and give the Hamilton franchise to Colorado. Denver deserves an SHL team instead of an SMJHL team. Denver is the 15th largest metro area in the USA and would be much better suited to a hockey team than the five people in Hamilton.

[68 Words]

d. Who is the best player to NOT make the final in the past 2 years?

Ethan Duncan. Backbone of the Baltimore Platoon and a player that hasn't been talked about nearly as much as he should. Has some of the best scoring touch and passing in the league and is no slouch in his own zone. He is what made Baltimore go the last couple years and should continue to be a great player for the team in the future. Hopefully he gets to play in a finals soon.

My first will be Samilton Heelsocks. He'll follow the same build path that every other player builds right now in the league. Focusing his puckhandling, getting open, offensive read, checking, and strength. We'll also put in some other stats to a mid-tier build but Samilton will be the ultimate center. After that we'll have Tamilton Sealclocks. She'll be a great defensive prodigy that will once again put points into the same 5 stats but this time they'll put a couple more defensive stats slightly higher, but honestly, it doesn't matter. My 3rd player would be Pamilton Realtalks. Another forward that follows the build of puckhandling, getting open, offensive read, checking, and strength. She'll have the same exact build as Samilton Heelsocks with the exact attributes but will only put up half of his points because, you know, FHM. And my final player will be Golees Donmatter and he'd play goaltender. He'd only earn half the TPE of the other three players because taking up that amount of salary cap with a maxed goalie is just a waste. He'd build like other goalies but only do like half the activity check and trainings a normal player does in a season and will only claim stuff when it's beneficial to the salary structure of his team.

1) Trivia

Verification word: Opium

4) Rule Changes

One of the rule changes I believe that needs to happen is a simple one: any rule that impacts salary, TPE, or rosters needs to not go into effect until after a full season is played. One of the big new rule changes that happened recently was one that sped up regression; note this is not a for or against for this rule, but when it was implemented. The rule will go in immediately for season 63, but the issue (in my view anyways,) is that the rule was announced after the trade deadline thus giving General Managers no chance what so ever to maybe move a player that they otherwise might have kept.

General Managers should almost always have at least a full season to evaluate, discuss, and prepare for a new rule of this type. Sure, there are instances were rule changes are needed immediately to fix something that is broken, but this was not one of those issues.

6) Grab Bag

a) A cup in the FHM error! Why? I wasn't around in the STHS error. I don't even know what STHS stands for. Maybe it's Simulation Testicle Hockey Sim? Or So Terrible Hockey Sucks. I am going to go look it up, I will be right back... "South Tahoe High School" Ok, now I am really confused....

c) While Hamilton's current population is currently a bit higher than 5, I think a move to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in Canada sounds like a brave move just because I want to hear the simmers say "Moose Jaw" or at least use the audio from the fashion show scene in the movie Slap Shot.

13) Parody

It is very tough to have a simulation league with what are basically role playing game characters that start from level 1 and work the way up to the higher levels. It is also especially hard to have a winning team and to prevent teams from keeping high level players for a dynasty. One could argue that having dynasties is somewhat realistic, but it does take away from the overall fun. Parity is key to a good league.

The salary cap is of course needed else people would be paying each other absurds amounts of money. However since it is not real money nothing prevents teams from grabbing high level players for minimum money or players simply bouncing to a winning team for the same. Adding minimum amounts for ranges of TPE points coupled with contract maximum years might decrease this issue. Of course you also don't want to punish teams who work hard to make their teams better, so it can be a tough line to follow.

14) Blow it UP!

Honestly? Hamilton. Regression is going to finally catch up with them soon (I know, I know, sort of like how Tom Brady is going to be terrible this year!), so why not trade a bunch of their current high level players for 1st and 2nd round picks for the next two to three years and then use them to snap up players being made by dependable, proven users. They will then have all these players hit peak around the same time for another window of winning. Their reputation alone will allow them to snag a few select free agents as well and even trade draft picks themselves to give themselves other top players.

I would be surprised if they do not do exactly this with the upcoming trade deadline, of course depending on how the season is going at that point. They can always hang on and see if they can add another trophy....

1, Trivia - Applesauce (3TPE)
2, GMs - Hamlet's moves before S61 have managed to turn an aging and called-up Berzerkers team into back to back cup finalists and S62 champions, with a majority of the team only now hitting the third-year TPE cap. His moves during the draft - looking for good locker room fits, active players, and enjoyable personalities even if their TPE wasn't the highest - has created a winning culture in the clubhouse and lead to one of the most emphatic teams in the recent history of the league. After a hard-fought S61 finals loss, the Berzerkers worked their way back to the finals with their now sophomore-capped Rookies and proceeded to wipe the floor once they returned, and they look poised to do it again next year, as lines shift and the S61 class reaches new heights. In the future, I hope more GMs try and replicate the success that Ryuuji Minamino has had in Newfoundland. I'm glad I've been able to be a part of it. (162) (3TPE)
6b, Honesty - I think we would have seen the same grouping. All four teams were incredibly strong again this year, and this can be reflected in how the community as a whole saw the rankings going into the playoffs with predictions being consistent until the semi-final series. It would have been a sight to behold, but I think we were robbed from some high-intensity matchups due to the fact that half the teams were eliminated before the semi finals. (77) (1TPE)
6c, Relocation - I would much prefer if we relocated the team to a city that actually exists. An expansion into Europe would be cool, seeing as we don't actually have travel times in a simulated league and thus can put teams wherever we want. Maybe a Russian team in Moscow, or a team in a place like Paris. Who knows - the possibility once we look outside the continent is immense. (68) (1TPE)
11a, Procrastination - I wouldn't say the outcome was predictable, given that it was a 4-0 sweep with one of those games being an absolute pasting by the Zerks. I thought it would have been a heavily competitive series, and, given what happened the year prior, I was worried we would lose again in heartbreaking fashion. Instead, it looks as if we've got a dynasty on our hands. Newfoundland looks solid, and built well to contend for a few years now, as Hamlet continues to have some of the most successful drafts I have heard about when examining the league. It seems that the man just cannot miss. (105) (2TPE)
12, Milestones - https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid3152426 (3TPE)
13, Parody - I don't think parity is an issue you can really "solve" in the traditional way in a hockey league like this one. It's far too easy for the top teams to stay competitive for a short amount of time, and if someone manages to hit on a winning strategy then they will be successful in the short term. I feel like the draft is far less of a crapshoot than in the real world however, with activity as a DFA and involvement in the league being decently easy to gauge base off involvement and activity. It would seem as though the league can be full of parity, just not as we're used to it season to season. For example, the Aurora have 8 max earning rookies currently stashed in the junior league, all coming up around the same time. That is insane, and will provide them a massive boost, even as they are getting worked around right now. This, however, allows them to continue to amass draft capital as their rookies get stronger in the minor leagues. (177) (3TPE)

I would locate the franchise to Ottawa, Ontario. I have been on the league for ten years now and desperately want to get a franchise in the nation's capital and I'm surprised that there hasn't been one yet. I brought the Lumberjacks to the GOMHL so maybe I should push to do something here as well..
