Head Office told me they want a huge shakeup next season! In order to create more randomized outcomes and thus greater parity-- we're adding an instant win rule.

Your task: Describe a new rule in hockey that allows you to instantly win the game. How difficult do you make it, and how do you balance the risk/reward?

25 words minimum!

You will receive 1 TPE for fulfilling all requirements.

There will be a rule where if a player scores a goal with a very tiny puck that is also in play, then you automatically win the game.

I win every game but for every game I win @micool132 wins the cup. Easy win win and it may be the easiest rule I ever invent

First thing that came to mind for me was 3 fight wins, I know we see less of it now and it doesn't make sense but sure it would have been a good idea in the early 2000s. Thinking about it more something that would mean more and save time could be stopping the game after the other team goes up by 4/5 goals? We don't see too many crazy comebacks and nobody likes watching a blowout

The instant-win rule in hockey should be if a goalie can score with an opposing goalie in the net. I wanna see goalies trying to fire long bombs and catch their counterparts off guard to try to score and win the game.

I would propose a rule that if Leon Athanasios ever scores a goal in a game, the team he plays for automatically wins. That way he can be the league leader in game winning goals Smile

A team automatically wins if all 3 of their centres score in the same game.
A team must declare they are attempting this prior to the game starting, and are forced to play with only 2 defensive pairings on the back-end.

Whenever Ben Jammin gets a peanlty, his team will instantly win the game. Not that hard to achieve since Ben is a complete menance out on the ice and always finds his way into the penalty box.

If a goalie gets an assist In a singular Game this would result in a game win automatically. This strings from the idea of how hard it would be to actively going for assists while also having to tend the goal.

A team automatically wins a game if they score a 5 on 3 shorthanded goal. Because let's be real, if you're on a 5 on 3 PP and conceding a goal, your team should be contracted.

If a player somehow manage to catch a wild golden snitch in a game, his team is awarded 150 goals and the game end imediatly. To balance the game, no golden snitch are added to the game at the start, so that situation can only happen is a wild golden snitch somehow find it's way into a hockey game by itself

The new rule states that if you score a non-deflected shot from your own zone, the game ends with your team winning. The percentage of shot from your own zone that end up in a goal is so low, and since you don’t want to end up with a bunch of icing, this strategy would only be used when a team is trailing by a lot of goals.

New rule proposal, if a referee makes a terrible call the two teams playing in the game can vote to either remove the ref from the game or the teams can get together and horribly beat the referee so he learns his lesson. I think this new rule would heavily help Kelowna with the penalty problems we've been having.

A new rule would be that if you score behind the red line from the neutral zone you win immediately hockey game because goalies should never allow goes from that far and if you do, you deserve to lose.

Allow me to use this time to complain about Quidditch and that stupid fucking golden snitch. Why bother even playing the rest of the stupid fucking game if all you need to do is catch the snitch? Have all 5 players go after it. Ridiculous rule which destroys the entire game and whatever the rest of the damn team was trying to accomplish. God damn do I hate that stupid rule.

Since you want us to put that rule into this game for some unknown reason, I'll just say that there is a golden puck hidden under one of the seats in the arena and if one of the players can find it during the game then that team wins the game. Sure, why not. About as good as the golden snitch.
