Scouting Report: Wednesday Addams, 16-year-old Center

Height: 5’ 6”
Weight: 150 lbs

Addams reminds me of an under-weight Hai Nam Hoang, There’s quickness and ability and a no-one-is-big-enough mentality. Not one to fight, but to embarrass you with smart play. On offense, you have the willingness to go to the front of the net, the ability to make space, the excellent passing ability. She can handle the puck with ease, and her vision in the offensive zone means she can make the play other players cannot make. On top of that, her shot is deadly accurate from long range, making her a threat from almost every part of the zone. On defense, her stature betrays the fact she can adequately make the check on the boards to strip the puck from an opponent, and her positioning and ability to read the offense means she is in the right place to make a key play with her stick. On top of that, her faceoff ability is on par with some of the better specialists in the SMJHL right now. She has the skillset to be a contributor immediately.

But she also has to address some issues with her game, like her lack of strength, which can hurt her ability to make key physical plays, and her balance means she can be neutralized by physical opponents. As a whole, there aren’t many things that make her game stand out, but in all areas she’s got the base skillset to become a key contributor to a team for years to come.
