Prompt 2

The Baltimore Platoon and Atlanta Inferno have had 7 playoff series since S64, 6 in the first round. Atlanta has eliminated Baltimore each time. The Platoon players are SICK of this groundhog day nonsense, so when the chance to sabotage the Inferno presents itself, some players wasted no time. While some might point to chemistry and strong forward play from the likes of Shoyo Hinata et al, the true secret to Atlanta’s successes is much simpler.

Angus McFife XVIII. He’s remained a consistent and reliable presence on their blueline for going on 13 seasons. His power is his confidence and his confidence comes from his beard. If you take away the beard, he no longer will have the confidence to say he’s going to win the Cup. In fact, he very well might refuse to play and cry in his one bedroom apartment alone at his bare, smooth face. So what did we do? We replaced his special edition beard oil (made with bergamot and mint, now available at Sephora) with Nair. After a long shower, he rubs the beard oil into his beloved facial hair… and within a few minutes the beard he’s cared for and cultivated for over a decade is lying on the floor. McFife barely played in the ensuing game after giving up 2 massive turnovers in his own end leading to goals for the Platoon.

How’d they get in? You can’t prove we did anything. His beard will grow back, but this year, Baltimore will get to play someone else.

Sorry @micool132 all's fair in love and hockey.

Option 1:

My team is going to win the cup this year because they are still the best team in the league, despite some setbacks. With even more firepower this year, our veteran group is ready to take another cup for their own. I know there are more competitive teams at the top now, but they don't have what we have: a goalie named Becky. Becky is ready to have the season of a lifetime and finally be the one with the crazy GSAA that all these other teams are consistently getting in the playoffs. We've been tracking it and every year the team that wins is the one super favored by FHM GSAA for a starting goalie. It's our year now. How do I know this? The air is lighter in Winnipeg this year. There is more comradery and the belief that we can do it again this year. Oh, also we got upgraded stadium lights, hence the lighter air.

The Citadelles have a pretty clear path to be able to win it all this season. When it came to season 73, we were one of the top teams with the most rookies. We were still able to make it the playoffs, even with only a few maxed players. Now in a new season for all of those rookies, we not have almost 7/8 maxed rookies at 350 TPE, which will able to help us for another playoff push. Our players were so good, we were the team with the highest amount of rookies taken in the first round of the SHL draft. We were able to do that, not only because of our activity, but how are players perform. Even though we lost one of the most important parts of a team, in a goalie, we were able to get a first round selection goalie that will take us to the promise land. Now that we have had a chance at playoffs and understand what it is like, it is easy sailing for us now. When it comes to the final game, the championship series, the Citadelles will not sweat, we have too many fans.

OPTION 1

Obviously the Minnesota Monarchs are going to go all the way this season with the help from Dad energy. You may be asking yourself, "What is Dad Energy?" and you have every right to ask that. Dad energy is relatively new term coined in the early 21st century to represent the super human like aspects after having a child. (See also 'Mom Strength'.) There may be a few dad's, and or moms, currently on the Monarchs that could summon the powerful strength like a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat (see 'Hat Trick'). We might even have some birthday parties during the season to help with all the icing. I believe that the Monarchs are looking like a powerhouse of a team that should be challenging every other team in the league. With the help of the Dad Energy, and Mom Strength of course, the team should be able to power their way to the top with lots of goals.

The Specters are going to win the cup this year due to a combination of good trades made in the off-season, current roster improving, team chemistry rising, and that we hired a magician to help us with hat tricks. There is pretty much no way we can lose with the work we put on over the summer, nothing will stop us. It's a good thing technology has improved to digital music, otherwise we would have a really quiet locker room with all the records we are going to shatter this year. Having a team first mentality will not only improve our team record but also help people get those individual records as well. Team bonding at an all time high and great rookies coming up the pipeline will surely push our current roster to play even better to keep their spot in the lineup and pushing for more ice time. Worst case we put ice in the other teams skates so they get cold feet playing us.

The San Francisco Pride have been waiting for this day for 3 seasons now. Their insane haul at the Season 71 SHL Entry Draft is now finally showing its dividends on the ice, as four of the top five players picked in the draft, Levin Schattenaxt, Mercedes Baylé, Logan Webb and Dominik Winters, will all make their debut for the northern Californian team this season. Since they're fourwards (get it? Four... forwards... fourwards!), expect an influx in offensive firepower for the Pride this season - outscoring your defensive problems always works, right? This injection of youth will catch all the teams in the Western Conference unaware, and even the mighty Blizzard and Aurora will wash away come spring time. And in the final, whoever comes out of the Eastern Conference will have no choice but to bow down to the quality quartet as their growth becomes unstoppable, and the Pride will win their first ever Challenge Cup! Which means, of course, someone, somewhere, will say that it was rigged and that we don't deserve the win - and this person will be rightfully mocked to oblivion, because this league has an inherent bias against us, as shown by the fact that neither Kyle Murray, Viktor Hargreeves nor Oskar Scholz won Rookie of the Year, you freakin' HEATHENS.

Well it's quite obvious to one and all that Dusty Rhodes has a dad bod. He's actually quite proud of it, it took many years to get it into that shape. One thing about going for a successful cup run is the team has to stay loose. So of course Dusty would break out the dad jokes. He has some particularly bad ones that are definitely groan inducing. Hey did you hear of the new pirate movie coming out? It's rated arrrrrrr! You get the picture. As a veteran on a young team it's ip to Rhodes to try and keep the youngsters from getting too stressed out and dad jokes are an easy way to do just that. Of course there's all the gourmet dinners Rhodes hosts and the nights of debauchery in the dive bars of New Orleans to keep the fellas loose as well. So Rhodes will try just about anything to make sure the Spectres have a fun and successful season.

I think Regina has a decent chance at a cup this season. Obviously it is almost always going to come down to luck mixed with all the other factors but on paper we are as good a team as any in the league. We have almost all 350+ TPE dmen and while we took a hit losing out on MVP candidate Bayley we have some very active and very hungry young rookies looking to keep earning and make an impact as soon as they get a chance to. Might be a bit of a slow start to the season but I truly feel this team come playoff time has a chance to beat any one in the league and we will show it in 66 games. Do not underestimate the depth of this team and do not doubt our blueline to mess things up for everyone going against us. The blue line and the goalies are going to be what makes or breaks this team and I know the only thing we're breaking is the other team's spirit.

In Texas we believe we have a decent chance this season. We made some good improvements this off-season with the acquisitions of two veterans forwards in Petr Svoboda and Ty Murphy. Both will help our younger players that are not ready yet to be on the top 2 lines of contender teams. With them and our best forward that got almost 100 pts last season (99 so close), David-Artturi Donskoi and another vets in Videl Valor, that will be four players that teams will have to look at. Those are older players, but we already have Pawter Meowski, Tiberious Kane and Marton Diehm are thee young forward that will get a lot of minutes as two of them are close to reach their potential.
At defense we are close to be the best team. We got two defensive specialist in Hodor and Valentine. The rest of the team and are very versatile as they can play on both side of the ice.
We have the best goalie in the league, hopefully he will be able to deliver and lead his team to the last game of the season.

Option 1

Julian Flörsch is 100% sure the Minnesota Monarchs are going to win the cup. With the scoring capacity of Meta Knight, Alexi Piastri, Luca Pane, Lasse Zeigler, Dan Baltisberger, Hai Nam Hoang, Bastien Primeau, Marshall Madden and Kevin Kim, Enes Gundogan and Jess Newman tsking their position in net, and Nevek Kove, Boho Biscuit, Brendan Laroux, Rikaad Mettzler, Elena Maximova and Julian himself guarding the blue line, it's going to take a lot of effort from any of the other teams to score one more than the Monarchs.

Julian's dad had the best advice for Julian on how to win the cup this season. The secret to winning the cup is just to make sure you win the last game of the playoffs final matchup. And to get there, all you need to do is just win more games than any of the other teams. Sounds easy enough, doesn't it?

Option 2

As a member of the Colorado Raptors, I would sabotage the Quebec City Citadels in numerous ways resulting in them missing the playoffs. First, when they are away, I'd have someone pull the fire alarm at their hotel so they wouldn't get any sleep. Next, I would slash the tires on their bus to further delay and frustrate them. When they finally do get to the rink, they will find their bench is coated in super glue, thus rendering them unable to get off of the bench and into the game. Then when the glue was properly blamed on the arena staff, we'd probably start the game. In that case, I'd casually throw out a banana peel when their star player comes by. I don't care, I'll take the penalty minutes. If all of this doesn't throw them off of their game, I'd guess we'd just have to beat em the old fashioned way: by drawing penalties via diving.
