For the finals this season, Guy Zheng would prefer to go to games 1 and 2 in Edmonton because then he wouldn't have to stay in the home town of those dirty Hamilton players who sought to and succeeded in exploiting the way that our sacred hockey game is played. In addition to that, he's heard that Edmonton has a dope mall and is an actual city unlike Hamilton. In the city, Guy Zheng would probably spend as much money as he could trying to gamble and make enough money to pay for his equipment and training come next season since he's currently relying on the generosity of his teammates to coast by. Or, he would probably use the money to pay a think tank to think of easy ways for him to make money without having to spend time writing media, doing a job, or making graphics. It might even be possible that he might just do some money laundering and use SDCore's money directly for his equipment and training.

In the alternate reality, the Hamilton players, coaches, and general managers did not spend any time trying to exploit the game that we all play and love, and instead we had a season just like any other and roughly the best two teams made it all the way to the finals. On the way to the finals, New England faces off against the Tampa Bay Barracuda and the series ends in nailbiting fashion as Bitties scores the series winning goal, cementing his place in the Simulation Hockey League hall of fame. In the Challenge Cup finals, we would have the New England Wolfpack versus the San Francisco Pride, where the series would go to seven games and end in quintuple overtime as Max Egger scores the game, series, and cup winning goal. Leitner is a brick wall through the whole playoffs, and Gordie Boomhover goes on to win the playoffs MVP award. Sadly, that is not the reality we live in, and instead we have what we have.

The fundraiser should be geared towards raising money to support a team to develop a new simulation engine that would finally replace Simon T Hockey Simulator but also cover a lot of the drawbacks and difficulties of switching to Franchise Hockey Manager. This would also include the building of a new portal and player database system that is robust and much easier for players to use. We can then set up seamless integration between player updates and the simulation engine, meaning players can update any day of the week and have their updates be input to the simulation immediately for the following sim. We can also automate the simulations themselves, making them run at a certain time every day. This does take away the need for updaters and simmers (although we would need a few people to fix issues/provide oversight), so off the back of destroying so many jobs, the league should make everything cheaper. $1M training would go down to just $500k, and equipment would go to just a maximum of $4M per season.

I would definitely be asked to play as a winger, or perhaps even start putting points into faceoffs in order to hold my own as a centre. This is because I seem to have a near optimal build for forwards in our new Simon T Hockey Simulator meta, where I have a lot of points in shooting and not as many points in passing. Because of this, I'll be able to wheel, snipe, and celly like no one's business. No longer are we getting pucks in deep, but our only focus from here on out is to get pucks on net -- because we all know that we miss a hundred percent of the shots we don't take. This is why I will be focused on slinging as many pucks on net as I can and worrying about nothing else. I think a line of Wagstrom, Clapper, and Zheng could be the highest scoring line in the league as long as we're all on the same page about shooting the puck as often as possible.

D. Which player name is your favorite from the rosters of these two teams? (not your favorite player, but your favorite name)

Definitely Tony Pepperoni. That is almost the best name in the whole league, second perhaps only to Thicc Cheezy. With a name like that, Tony deserves to win evey award in the league and hoist the Challenge Cup at least 10 times in his career. If we're just going by quality of name alone, there's no one else in these finals who even comes close.

VIP Status again babyyyyyyyy - your player has been invited to attend one of the first homestands of the CC finals as a VIP guest - all expenses paid, front row seats, any hotel you want - and it's all on the Commissioner's dime! Eggy has complained to me the past two seasons about having to pay for this so I'm graciously volunteering SDCore to front the costs for this season's splurge! Are you going to Games 1 and 2 in Edmonton or Games 3 and 4 in Hamilton? Why are you picking there? And what are you going to do in that city to run up SD's tab?? (This is the same prompt as in the past but we've got different cities! be creative! Don't re-use what was written last season.)

So, I am gonna role play as Richard C. Hocolate here for a second, because I think I can make a much better PT in his persona than with Luc-Pierre Lespineau-Lebrunette. So, here we go.

"Obviously I'm going to Edmonton for games one and two. Why is that? Because its the closest to Calgary, of course! I can call up my boys Joe K and Esa and we can hit up the local bars before the game! Good thing i got the commish's platinum card i snagged off him at the hotel when we met earlier, so drinks are on me baby!

I heard there are some casinos around the area, so might as well go there! I do love hitting up the craps tables. I'll be drinking too, as long as its not tequila. Last time i drank tequila and played cards, well, lets just say it ended up with me passed out on a blackjack table buck ass naked."

Alternate Reality: Physicists and other smarties believe that this reality is just one of infinite realities existing alongside this one in parallel. Take us over to one of those realities in which everything is the same but these S51 playoffs have unfolded differently. What happened in that reality's playoffs and who's in the Challenge Cup over there?

So, we're in a totally different alternate reality. Whats different about this one? Well, first big difference is that the wild card doesnt exist. This brings about a small change right off the bat, where we see the Los Angeles Panthers, who made it to the Western semifinals, are not even a playoff team. Instead we skip straight to the quarterfinals, where the Winnipeg Jets will reside.

The Edmonton Blizzard and the Calgary Dragons battle in a hotly contested 7 game series. However, they lose game 7 thanks to their worst player, Russian forward Anton Kolbasa. He had a wide open net in the first period than he clanged off the post, and made a bad pass on a fast break to take away a scoring chance. Calgary won and went to the western conference finals.

The Chicago Syndicate also ended up advancing to the eastern conference finals. In a pivotal game 7, the Manhattan Rage decided to start Peter Larsen in net instead of Scottey Crawfling. They would lose that game 7-6

A. Tommy Tuck posted a better SV% during the regular season, but Geezus Kryyst has been lights out during the playoffs. Which team has the advantage in goal for this series?
B. Edmonton averages more hits per game than Hamilton, but also more PIMs - and Hamilton has proven pretty deadly on the power play this postseason while the Blizzard's PK has struggled. Be the coach: should Edmonton stick to a physical style of play or back off a bit in this series?
C. Who is your X-factor skater in this series? Who's got the intangibles? Who's gonna step up for their team when it matters most? Why do you think so?
D. Which player name is your favorite from the rosters of these two teams? (not your favorite player, but your favorite name)
E. WOULD YOU RATHER: (a) eat a Pepperoni pizza with Tony Pepperoni (debatably cannibalism), (b) get a nice long hug from Teddy Cuddles, (c) have Tor and Tommy Tuck tuck you into bed at night, (d) do squats with Hugh Jazz, (e) have a tug of war with Tig, or (f) have Aaron Wilson uncover a brand new strategy for your team to use? Why?

A. In the playoffs, its always the hot hand that matters the most. In this case, I think its easy to say that Geezus Kryyst is the best guy in net. He has only gotten one loss this entire playoffs, and tops the board in every goalie stat category except for shutouts
B. You cant ever shy away from the physical game if thats one of the main tenets of your team. Sure, in the end it might come back to bite you in the ass, but it could also help a lot. In the end, you can't just majorly change your gameplan the week of the finals and expect a good result
C. I think the x factor of this series has to be Tommy Tuck. These teams each have a phenomenal goalie in net for them. Tuck has had a great playoffs so far, but Kryyst has been out of this world. If Edmonton is going to be able to compete, Tuck has to elevate his play to his regular season level
D. I think Tony Pepperoni is my favorite name of the playoffs. Its a little simple, but thats part of the charm. The other part of the charm is just how easy it is to picture him as an Italian crime boss. Just imagine him with an accent with a Tommy gon saying "this is the last time you'll mess with the Pepperoni family."
E. For me, I would definitely like to have Tor and Tommy Tuck tuck me in every night. I think they would also have some amazing bed time stories, so its a two for one deal here. I also would like to get a tummy tuck with Tor and Tommy Tuck, if thats part of the agreement

Welp, you waited until the last day to grind out your CW and the CC finals are longggggggg over by now. congrats to [TEAM], woo! Reflecting back on the series, who gets your vote for series MVP? Make the case why this player deserves it over any other.

I am gonna show my former goalie bias and say that the MVP of the Challenge Cup finals should be Geezus Kryyst. First of all, I'll show some more bias of mine with crazy names, and say this is a top tier one. Secondly, I think you have to look at the stats first. Every team has players who are good, but Kryyst has been dominant everywhere, leading the playoffs in save percentage and goals against average. he's one of two goalies with a shutout in the playoffs. Another thing to match is how few games Kryyst and the Steelhawks had to play. finishing the playoffs with 12 wins and 2 losses shows both consistency and dominance.

The SHL, trying to re-extend popularity among a fan base whose numbers have diminished this quarter, is hosting a town hall think tank right before the finals. It is a well-attended event, and many come forward with ideas to reinvigorate the league. What are some ways the SHL can re-ignite that flame with fans and soar to new heights of popularity? (don't you dare write about sim engines here, pretend this is a real life hockey league and answer it that way lol)

I think there are plenty of ways that the SHL can reinvigorate the league not only for it's players but for it's fans. The League will be looking to extend outreach programs in their communities as they look to further develop the bonds between SHL team's and the fans that support them. There will also be a push to get more SHL players on different shows and internet programs to extend their brand to new audiences. There is a deal in the works for Collin Gibbles to appear on an episode of Hot One' with Sean Evans, A deal for Mika Mayfield to appear on Bon Appetit's channel in a mayo based cook-off, and finally there has been rumors of one Ivan Maximus preparing for a stint on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives to co-host with Guy Fieri. There are also talks about hosting a concert to raise money for disadvantaged youth in the SHL community with Smash Mouth, The Baja Men, and Sugar Ray headlining.

The Most Generic Prompt of All Time - what is your player looking forward to in the offseason? What are they planning on doing? Training? Relaxing? Testing free agency? Whatever it is, let us know!

My player has a lot of things to look forward to in this off season. He will have to start the process of moving his main place of residence from Anaheim to Minnesota as he prepares for his new role as Head GM in Minnesota. This appointment was met with controversy but Gibbles will continue to prepare the Chiefs for the upcoming season as he goes through all the old files and off season tasks required by the SHL Head Office. He will also make it a point to not neglect his training as he will be finding himself as the star forward on the team after the sudden departure of one GOD McZehrl. While the Chiefs do not have the most active forward core these days, Gibbles is prepare to be the anchor while prospects develop and prepare to make the leap to the SHL. He also plans to meet with each of his teammates to prepare for the future changes to league rules and make sure his team is ready to go.

Which player from Hamilton or Edmonton would you bet on to win a regular season individual award in a future season? What player and what award? What makes you think they'll live up to their potential and take home the hardware?

I think the player I would choose to win an award in a future season would have to be Tig Murphy. Tig was robbed of winning the most improved player last season after finally breaking through the glass ceiling of the SHL and becoming the franchise defenseman we all knew he could be. Tig has been one of the highest scoring defenseman over the past two seasons and I think they will have a great shot at winning the award for Top defenseman in seasons to come. I hope that the awards committee is able to look past the controversy of this season and see what a talented player Tig has become in a short time.

I'm going to sound like a broken record after the last subject but I think Tig Murphy was the Series MVP. As Hamilton's Franchise Defenseman, Tig logged some of the highest minutes in all 5 games of the series and was on ice for a lot of high pressure situations. Tig also had 7 points across 5 games, proving he was one of the team leaders. Tig's offensive contributions are also matched with his stellar defensive play. He was credited with 11 hits and 6 shots blocked in the series proving he can lead the team. Tig also managed to only take 1 penalty in the series for 2 penalty minutes. This is impressive with how much time he was on the ice and dishing out hits.

Well I've been to Edmonton, its a nice town surely but once you've seen it do you really need to go back? The answer of course is hell no. So were going to Hamilton, surely there has to be something fun there to do. Although the Commissioner isn't paying this time around, who know how many checks SDCore has bounced in his name during this trip? So obviously, games 3 and 4 in Hamilton is our destination. Hamilton is pretty much a home crowd for Buffalo so I'm going to find as many Buffalo fans as I can in Hamilton and take them out for a night on the town, sign autographs, even take the Challenge Cup along for the ride because who is gonna stop a big guy in a good suit with a gaudy Challenge Cup ring backed up by like 50 drunk guys in Stampede jerseys? Not the Keeper of the Cup thats who.

The two finals teams have decided to team up for a fundraising opportunity to benefit both cities. What noble cause will the teams decide to benefit? What sort of fundraiser will the teams hold together? How will the two teams mesh before the finals start?

Probably the easiest fundraiser to have is to raise money for cancer research. Lets face facts, many women and men have died from Cancer that either went undetected in men in places such as the breast, prostate and colon and in women in the uterus and ovaries. Oskar Lindblom being diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma has opened the hockey world's eyes to the fact cancer can affect even the young and strong just like it did for Koivu and Lemieux in the not so distant past. Canada is a country which is lucky to have some of the best research hospitals in the country so bringing the two best Canadian teams together for this is just a no brainer for everyone involved. I'd wager the teams would have a silent auction to benefit cancer research and they would mesh together just fine because they realize that when we come together to fight this terrible disease, we all win.

Pretend that your team has hit an injury bug - the roster is so depleted that your coach is asking you to play out of position. What position is your coach asking you to play and what about your player build will help you be successful in this new role?

I figure my coach would ask me to play as the team's power forward or two way forward Right Winger. My player's build is a right handed shot, which means he's going to do better on the right side. He's quick, not super fast but not dogging it out there which means he has a better chance of playing a complete 200 foot game. My defense is on the lower side but my passing is above average, giving me a good chance to quarterback a power play or penalty kill and get into the dirty areas to feed the center the puck or the defensemen for that matter. My scoring is also above par, which gives me a good chance to score a few goals, maybe turn the coach';s head a little bit so that when I get placed back in my position maybe he gives me a few extra shifts.

The Most Generic Prompt of All Time - what is your player looking forward to in the offseason? What are they planning on doing? Training? Relaxing? Testing free agency? Whatever it is, let us know!

My guy is going to take a month and just go off the grid, rent a cabin on a piece of property and take a box of books and just relax. No phone, no internet, just time to himself. Of course, training will happen too. Ever see Rocky IV? Kinda like that but im not running up a mountain trying to avoid the KGB. Once the dog days of summer start to ebb closer, my guy is going to have a BBQ for his teammates. Who doesn't like hanging out with the boys and enjoying some steaks and ribs on the grill? I don't think I could ever see my guy leave Buffalo. Were like a family and while families do break up from time to time I don't think I could play another game without the support of my Brothers in Green and Gold. But this offseason I don't need to worry about that, this offseason is dedicated to getting better, feeling better and gearing up for another season of Stampede Hockey.

(don't you dare write about sim engines here, pretend this is a real life hockey league and answer it that way lol)

I feel like the league could bring more people aboard with giveaways and behind the scenes looks at each team. Perhaps even a Winter Classic, road to the winter classic was one of my favorite things that HBO did showing the road that the Flyers and Penguins took to reach the classic and who eventually came out on top. If the league approved giveaways at every game, like promotions and such it might bring more people to the arena to watch the game. If it allowed ref's and players to be mic'd up on the ice, might give a little insight on how the players react to in game shenanigans and winning or losing games. I mean, think about it, if you knew what your favorite player thought about rattling one off the crossbar or if the league had a ref like Wes McCauley, how many people would tune in to watch the SHL duke it out on tv. I wager a lot of folks.

4. The Carolina Kraken have been hit by the injury bug in a spectacular fashion. Because the roster has been so depleted by injuries that Joseph Weston, the Assistant Captain to the Carolina Kraken, himself, must play out of position, instead of his normal Wing position. Obviously this can only mean one thing, that Joseph Weston must follow his true calling and play as a goalie. Joseph Weston has heard the calling to be a goalie for ages, but his current demands as a winger are where he spends most of his days. Weston tries to be adaptable and be in the right place at the right time, and this would be a huge boon as a goalie. Nothing is better than stopping shots as a goalie, no sir, and Joseph Weston being in the right place at the right time will be a huge help for that. Now it will just be figuring out how to design his goalie mask.

5. In response to The Most Generic Prompt of All Time, Joseph Weston is looking forward to planning in the offseason. He is planning on doing a great many things, including training, relaxing, and considering testing free agency. While these are all vague and generic answers, there are no better ones to give to the Most Generic Prompt of All Time. In truth, Joseph Weston wants to answer the Most Generic Prompt of All TIme honestly, that he is spending his offseason preparing for the move to Franchise Hockey Manager. This is a move and a decision that Joseph Weston wholeheartedly supports and is entirely in favor of. Joseph Weston has enjoyed his time with STHS, but FHM should help breath new life into the SHL. He, Joseph Weston himself, has felt bored with the current STHS usage despite the wonderful people on the website and in Discord. Weston can’t wait for the next season to be over.

7. Joseph Weston is huge on supporting local involvement with governmental institutions. The very foundations of democracy are built upon involvement with the government, and the SHL would do well to emulate that level of involvement from the ground up in all communities. The SHL can absolutely re-ignite the flame by increasing advertisement amongst lower involved areas. Many parts of the United States and Canada are not included in the SHL nor are they represented well at all. The recent move by the Montreal Militia to the Carolina Kraken was a good move to start expanding the areas that are uninfluenced by the SHL, despite the people who still complain about it. The SHL needs to expand further to increase the amount of people who have access to the teams and their stadiums, and increasing the variety in locations is a huge way to do it. Should the SHL not do this then they cannot possibly have anything else as an excuse for a drop in popularity.

9. Bless the SHL,
Some teams try their hardest here,
But some don’t at all.

10. The Carolina Kraken are proud to announce their partnership with Gatorade to create a new, never seen before, flavor, the likes of which cannot be matched. The Carolina Kraken are proud to announce, Krakcaine, a wild and innovative new flavor to pump up the people. This flavor is based upon the secret Carolina Kraken Krak-cocaine that is so loved by the Carolina SMJHL team and will exceed greatly the expected amount of sales. There will be no greater flavor in all of Gatorade history, as there exists no greater team in all of SMJHL history. A crisp and bright Orange that will be beautiful and unmatched across all of history, get your Krakcaine now.

15. A Geezus Kryyst has the absolute edge based upon being lights out during the playoffs. Being a hot goalie in playoffs is worth more than the regular season wins and that is a complete and total fact. It should be no surprise that recency is well and that the Challenge Cup is earned through playoffs and not the regular season.

You think Dom would want to go Ontario since it's closer to home in Michigan and less of a flight, but all expenses paid? He's headed to games one and two in Edmonton, man. Mainly because I don't know anything about Hamilton and I like Edmonton, but also because I imagine he's more acquainted with the players on the Blizzard since he plays them a little more and Edmonton just seems like it has more nightlife if that's something Dom and the bois feel like doing after the game. Since it's SD's tab and not Eggy's, Dom would definitely feel less inclined to spend a lot. It's not as fun to party when it's not on Eggy's dime. He'd definitely hit up this one Swiss cafe downtown before game 1 to have the best pretzel bread sandwich in all the land. He's going to break his nutrition plan and eat some salty meats and breads. Then probably have a drink at the game, and then to make things different from last Championship finals week, he'd go to the clubs, let loose and drink, dance shirtless, etc. Maybe not shirtless for long since it's summer in Edmonton but that's still not the warmest thing and Dom's used to California sun.

Take us over to one of those realities in which everything is the same but these S51 playoffs have unfolded differently. What happened in that reality's playoffs and who's in the Challenge Cup over there?
In one--and only one--of the many alternate realities, the San Francisco Pride were chillin' in round one, waiting to play in round two against the Los Angeles Panthers for the trophy of California. The Pride swept 'em good and watched them cry (but gave them tissues, bc you know, it's not nice to be mean), and then went onto round three of the playoffs against the New Orlean Specters. Dom's best friend Jimmy Slothface is on that team, so that's why that's important, and it comes to a close game seven, both teams really wanting to win as hockey teams do unless you're the Red Wings, but then ah man Pride win and it is great but also emotional. Dom and Jimmy hug on the ice in the line-up and some fan gets a pic of Jimmy being emotional and Dom comforting him, as is his mission in life, and u know hockey Twitter is down for that ship. And then for the finals, it's the Pride versus the Tampa Bay Barracuda and Olivier Cloutier has been killin' it for TBB but it's time to put an end to that. Dom and Leopold Lockhart are unstoppable on their respective lines that the GM puts them together and they block so many shots and score so many goals and hug, and then boom another tough way to game seven where the Pride win and there are hugs of emotion but mainly between Leo and Olivier and Twitter is also about that. This AU is stuffed in the void that I live in Monday-Friday and some weekends.

The two finals teams have decided to team up for a fundraising opportunity to benefit both cities. What noble cause will the teams decide to benefit? What sort of fundraiser will the teams hold together? How will the two teams mesh before the finals start?
The teams will be raising funds for Help the Planet You Piece of Garbage (HPYPG). The HPYPG is an educational non-profit dedicated to teaching people on how to decrease their environmental impact by like not keeping your heat up at 22 degrees Celsius in the winter and stuff like that. To go with the garbage part, the org also gives tips and resources on how to just not be garbage people when it comes to recycling and composting. As people in the entertainment industry, both teams understand that having a more extreme climate could be bad and also you don't want to drive around the cities in trash so take care of your waste. I know Edmonton at least does a good job of that, but you could always be better and somehow the Edmonton Blizzard and Hamilton Steelhawks are down to hold this fundraiser to benefit this org. The fundraiser this time will be about water pollution. Both teams will nominate their goons to get dunked in tanks filled with questionable drinking water of various colors. The terrible experience of this will bring the goons together in solidarity and the other players will be in charge of cleaning them off and taking charge of the recycling and trash stations, high sticking anyone who doesn't put their food waste in the composting bin, etc. Don't heck with this planet - it's the only one we can play hockey on.

The Most Generic Prompt of All Time - what is your player looking forward to in the offseason? What are they planning on doing? Training? Relaxing? Testing free agency? Whatever it is, let us know!
The San Francisco Pride didn't make the playoffs this season, so Dom has a lot of extra time to get into his summer Dominic vibe. After a week of moping in sunny California, I imagine he'll head back to Michigan to hang out with his family and friends back there. He might head out to Concord too to hang out with Leo Lockhart's family, since that's always fun and he probably misses them. Then he'll probably head back to Michigan to do some training before IIHF starts and maybe work with a local LGBTQ organization And then after IIHF, he'll hit up Motor City Pride and all that back in Michigan, and then it'll be time for Dom's favorite holiday - Fourth of July. It's his favorite because it's the only holiday he's guaranteed to be home for and all his close friends come for the BBQ. Then after that, he might go back to his nutrition plan and train for a bit before probably doing more outdoorsy things like camping, sailing, and hiking with some of his faves, who knows. He'll be with the Pride again for another season at the very least and he just wants to be out on the water as much as possible.

The SHL is partnering with Doritos and Gatorade to create a unique flavor of chip and beverage for each SHL and SMJHL team. Create a graphic of the chip bag or the Gatorade bottle for any SHL or SMJHL team OR describe the flavor of chip or beverage for any SHL or SMJHL team. Make sure the branding is tight or it has a quirky name to get people to buy it #marketing
NEW for SHL season 52! Ever feel so close to the puck that you can taste it? Now, you can. Gatorade's newest flavor, Blacc Rubber, starts off with an awfully bitter taste that makes you think twice about doing whatever stupid thing you were about to do and then gives you a satisfying fruit punch-like taste afterward, plus it's filled with electrolytes and other things you need after a hangover. Blacc Rubber comes in a slick, opaque black bottle, and all the marketing for this will say, "Don't leave home without a Rubber," because sex sells. You can also eat the bottle cap after you're done. It tastes terrible, but you can, and it has 15 grams of protein.

Should be enough here for 18 points. I know I only get 16.

Task 1

I don’t even know what there is to do in Hamilton but I really wanted to get a vibe for the city amidst all the controversy so I decided to go there. I’m not very recognizable so I just kind of went in as a fan. I went to local sports bars and of course I went to the games. The fans remind me of the Patriots’ fans. They were pretty defensive and took an understandable “us versus the world” approach. Most of them are pretty cool though. They were able to take the jokes as long as their team was performing well. I’m not much on partying but I made sure to eat at the nicest restaurants and get some good food. I did a few local interviews for fan podcasts but there isn’t that much interest in Texas up here. I didn’t run up the tab too much, compared to other players.

Task 2

Hamilton is punished, severely, for their actions even though there is no precedent and no rule was broken. They lose draft picks and everyone who partook in the exploit is suspended for thirty games. The team is in tatters, barely able to field a team for the first half of the season. They return but are on an even playing field and do not make the playoffs. West Kendall sneaks into the playoffs but don’t really do anything. Everything else unfolds the same except the Challenge Cup Finals consist of Edmonton and Manhattan. The series goes seven games with the Rage ultimately prevailing. Hamilton is stripped of first round picks in the next three drafts and their franchise takes ten seasons to recover. Half of the league retires in protest as they feel that their the punishment did not fit the alleged crime. The league shrinks to eight teams. I am sure some people would like this.

Task 3

The two teams had a lot of difficulty coming up with a good cause that they could agree on. Edmonton wanted to host a regular hockey clinic for local kids where they focus on all aspects of the game. Hamilton wanted to strictly focus on scoring. The clinic was for local kids but the money went to a local charity for dentures. The kids definitely preferred playing with Edmonton players. Every time they were on the ice with a Hamilton player, they would get attacked and insulted for passing the puck. If they weren’t shooting, they were told they were doing it wrong. The kids started crying and the clinic was a disaster. The two teams ended up fighting each other and many arrests were made. The Challenge Cup Finals were almost canceled. Many parents asked for refunds and after everything was done, they raised about $74.34 for dentures for nursing homes. Well done.

Task 4

I suppose the easiest transition for me would be goalie. I’m not a very good hitter and I’m not fond of passing too much so it would be easier just to stay in goal and try swallow the puck. We won’t win too many games but I will keep us in the mix. I might even score a few goals from the net, if that’s even legal. I can also hold my own in a fight so if there’s a line brawl, I’m coming for the other goalie. Truthfully, this would be a disaster and I’m glad we don’t have injury bugs around here. I like that goalies have more pads though, I wear the well. I’m also pretty creative so I’d like to customize my helmet. I wish skaters got to do that. I could come up with some crazy masks if I was given the chance. Forget the new sim engine. I want to see this change.

Task 5

My off-season was longer than most since I was not in the playoffs. I stayed in Texas since I’m pretty settled here now but didn’t do much. I took a week off but then I got back to training by myself. I watched a lot of football but my team wasn’t even in the playoffs. Some local podcasters wanted to do interviews so I worked on that and showed up at a few local events. This was a pretty low-key off-season and I have been trying to lay low amidst all the nonsense and noise. I just want to play and I’m ready for the new season to start. I have been thinking about the future of my career a lot and I’m curious to see where it goes. I enjoy Texas and we some to be doing good things here and hopefully I’m here for the future. So yea, boring off-season for me again.

Task 7

There are a few ways to re-invigorate the league without breaking the system. Some sports have different tournaments for the same sport, even some countries do. Prior to or after the regular season we should host a tournament. I proposed a double elimination tournament in the past and I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. The off-season is still fairly long on some occasions and this would help it out. I know we have IIHF and we don’t need to get rid of that. It would just be all SHL teams randomly drawn into a bracket. It can even be hosted over a single weekend with games in the morning and evening. We could call it the President’s Cup or something along those lines. The players on the winning team could get a million dollars each so there are some stakes, even if they are not that high. I just think it would help gain more interest. Off-season can be brutal, especially for players

Renegades  raiders  Finland

1. Wow VIP again? Seems like every season now I've been in the league, I've been getting invited to the SHL challenge cup finals. Save for the one that I was actually playing in, but that one, even now, seems like a lifetime ago. I can't say I'm too excited for these finals, it seems like I'm just cheering for the lessor of two evils, but I'm sure the players on the ice don't feel the same way. I suppose I'd rather see the first two games in Hamilton, not because I'm a fan of their team but rather, if I can help it, would prefer to never step foot into deadmonton. Plus I wouldn't mind spending the night in Toronto after the games, celebrating hard regardless of which team ended up winning that game. All I can hope for is an exciting series and hopefully a quick start to the next season.

2. Physics is science, and science is life, and anybody who has every entered a black hole has never returned to talk about their experience and so how can we, without a doubt, say that alternate realities are not possible. In the alternate timeline/dimension/reality, whatever you want to call it, that I reside in, (that's right, I went through a black hole and am now back to discuss it, send those ted talk contracts my way) New England has been in the SHL Challenge Cup finals every year that I have been in the league and I, along with Guy Zheng, and local sieve, Andrew Warren have won all of our respective awards. In addition to making the finals every season since S48, we have also won the Cup all of those seasons as well. The only major difference is that Simon Tremblay is actually named Dave Tremblay, and he is also the founder of Wendy's.

3. The cities of Edmonton and Hamilton have joined forces for a noble cause that every province directly West of Alberta hates: a pipeline. Since that pipeline that Trudeau bought is never going to be built, Edmonton has had to resort to drastic measures and use the fanbases of two hockey teams to fund their own. Even though logistically it doesn't make sense as Hamilton is situated next to a lake not an ocean, this is a meme and things don't need to make sense, they just are. Why has Hamilton agreed to this plan? Well at the start of the season the Edmonton roster put all of their TPE in passing in order to make the finals even easier for Hamilton and by trading wins, they would raise any amounts of money for a cup. EDM players are washing cars and shovelling snow in order to make money, whist HAM players are robbing old ladies, and stealing from the poor in order to raise their share.

4. I'm playing goalie, fam! The only thing more ridiculous than a defender playing goalie, because who knows where our teams sieve has fucked off to, is a forward playing goalie. And if my coach understands one thing, it's that memes are greater than wins. Especially when the team is basically tanking and trying to get first overall. But then the memery of this position change gives us bad karma and we lose the draft lottery even though we basically has the best chance of winning, so I guess that is the downfall of memes. But memes have dreams and maybe next season, since we lost the lottery, we'll win the cup because everything works out after all. Who knows though, maybe I'll become the permanent replacement for our goalie and then we lose every single game in the regular season and still don't end up with the first pick, Now, that would be brutal.

1. Well I am going to be pretty on brand with how Tor Tuck has spent his VIP status and go ahead and sell it again and pocket the cash. This time Tor Tuck actually has some interest in the series so he will sell them in whatever city will fetch more money, which is obviously Edmonton. Tor Tuck will actually have a seat a little bit better than the VIP ones but when some nice Edmonton fans purchase his VIP package he can earn a little extra cash on the side by throwing in some signed swag of his own creation. Tor Tuck has a quaint home in Edmonton and does not know the hotel scene there too well but he will obviously have these super fans put up in the nicest place in town with full access to room service, escorts, and whatever else they might desire thanks to the fat checkbook provided by SD.

2. Imagine a world where there were not exploits that were obviously utilized by one team in the challenge cup playoffs. If teams were going off of the pure talent of their rosters we would have a pretty large shakeup with some dangerous teams facing off against Edmonton in the finals. However, we are unfortunate enough to live in a world where there is no rule of law and instead pure chaos. The rules are made up and apparently nothing really matters. But back to the made up reality, there are probably a lot fewer asterisks and a lot more fans in the stands in this realm. I would imagine that the crop of incoming players is a lot more invested in the sport and we have a better situation as an organization going forward. Perhaps Buffalo or LA are sitting with the cup at this point, it is really hard to say what would happened in this fake world but I think it is clear we would have more happening on this site and Hamilton would be the bottom dwellers they deserve to be.

3. The two teams decide to do a fundraiser to help the children’s hospitals of Edmonton and Hamilton that are setup to specifically help children that are suffering from cancer that they are unlikely to survive. Both teams decide to go the route of getting a whole bunch of swag, autographs, and other SHL related gear from all kinds of stars on all kinds of teams. There is even some stuff from retire legends like Ron Mexico available for the auction. The money will be used to help some of these kids get treatment that could save their lives and those that do not have that option will be given Make A Wish type treatments where they get to have a very positive experience with their families before they are too sick to do so or worse. Unfortunately, after the auction the kids came to collect the money from the items and found nearly the entire Hamilton roster in the back room burning the cash and having a big old circle jerk.

4. The most important thing that would happen if the injury bug did finally hit the team is that Tor Tuck would be vindicated in his pleas to get his skills in durability bumped up despite concerns from his teammates, general managers, updates, and even the head office. He has finally proven them all wrong and would be very smug in this fact. However, the most obvious position for Tor Tuck to play would be goalie. He could slap Tommy’s jersey on without having to change the name and throw a few pillows in it. Behind the mask people would not be able to tell that the far more handsome Tor Tuck was back there and they would be intimidated from the fear that Tommy Tuck was back in the net the entire game. Tor Tuck’s build would also let him get a few surprises in when he tossed his gloves and threw down several times throughout the game as he has down his entire career.

15. Written, up to 5 TPE Pick up to 5 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words to qualify.
A. The advantage in the goal for this series is obviously Tommy Tuck. He has the pedigree of a champion and has proven his worth throughout his long and decorated career as a goalie in this league. Plus he has the support of many of the fans and even players throughout the league, which coupled with the moral high ground gives him a big edge.
B. Edmonton should definitely stick to their physical style of play. Their roster is built around toughness and Tor Tuck is one of the players that really enjoys laying the wood from time to time when he is out on the ice. The contact over the course of a game or a series can really wear down some of the divas in the league.
C. Teddy Cuddles is going to be the X-Factor in this one. He is a veteran player and there are rumors that this is going to be his last season in the league. He is going to leave it all out on the ice this go and it is really going to make a difference. Above all this kid just has heart.

1. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min) VIP Status again babyyyyyyyy
First of all, I will be attending the Edmonton games. I want to be there to see how the series kicks off, and gauge where momentum is headed for the rest of the finals. Second of all, I’m going to spend so much of SD’s money it isn’t funny. He didn’t know who he was bringing to the event. Not only am I a drinker and boy howdy will I be drinking, but I will be tipping generously. The corporate fat cats in head office have had it too good for too long and it’s time we introduce a little communism and spread the wealth. Anyone who sells me any goods or provides any service will receive a hefty sum from the bank of the commissioner. Moreover, since we’re in Alberta, and since I was told I could buy anything with my J league GM’s money, I’ll be making a large purchase of land in the oil fields. Nothing makes your money back quite like a safe investment in oil.

2. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min) Alternate Reality
Off in the distant land of SHL reality Z-81, the finals of the Challenge Cup come down to a competition between the New Orleans Spectors, and their archrivals, the New Orleans Spectors. You may be asking yourself, how does that even work? Are they playing themselves? No! In this universe, and that’s why it’s the best universe in the sim league multiverse, every single team except the last place team are the New Orleans Spectors. The conferences are broken up into TSC and ASC which stand for “the Spector Conference” and “Also Spector Conference”. While one of those has a non-Spector team, the overall message is clear. After a spectacular year for playoff series wherein every game went to 7, the Spectors are ready to host their first playoff game of this season. The road team knows that the Spector’s stadium is a tough place to travel to, but they’re used to a noisy crowd thanks to their experience back home in Spector’s Stadium.

3. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min) The two finals teams have decided to team up for a fundraising opportunity to benefit both cities.
With both Challenge Cup teams being Canadian this season, they really decided to lean into their national pride when choosing a fundraising opportunity for them to collaborate on. And what better way to benefit Canada’s cities than to put a focus onto maple syrup. The joint fundraiser will be featuring a pancake eating contest, and the purpose is to make sure that Canada’s youth have access to real syrup for the remainder of their lives. So every dollar earned from this competition will go directly to fighting climate change, eliminating greenhouse gasses, and further research into what can be done to save our maple trees. Curbing climate change has become a political issue nowadays. In reality, it is directly linked to our collective survival as a species and shouldn’t be limited to partisan lines. Which is why it is so important to base this venture in something all good Canadians can agree on, maple syrup tasting good.

4. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min) Pretend that your team has hit an injury bug
One thing that good old Jakob has always been talented at is blocking shots. Well, the first thing is finding his way to the penalty box, the second is making hits, and the third is blocking shots. Sadly the first one is an active detriment, the second only works out of position as a grinder, but the third is a transferable skill. Because, you see, Lethbridge’s goalies have sadly found themselves all sick or injured, and Hamr had nothing to do with that I promise. But coach decided to bring in someone with a penchant for throwing his body in front of shots and see how he does as the replacement goalkeeper. Quick reflexes are the biggest advantage here, as well as the fact that his stature makes him take up 85% of the net before he even has to move. Sadly, the #1 skill for Jakob never goes away, and as it turns out getting sent to the box for cross checking isn’t an acceptable thing for a goalie to do, so the experiment was a failure.

5. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min) The Most Generic Prompt of All Time
Jakob has been spending the offseason training. He isn’t the best TPE earner, but his good friend and teammate in the upper league Slothface and him have taken the time and come up with an intensive workout program which will hopefully get Hamr on track to not miss any potential TPE gains (except the ones that he cannot afford, RIP my teeny tiny bank account). To play defense one has to be strong and fast, and without a workout regiment, that simply will not happen. So in true Rocky Balboa fashion, Hamr chose to fly to Eastern Europe (back home to the Czech Republic) to work on his athleticism. In addition to the regular workouts such as carrying a log over my shoulder and walking through waist deep snow, I have elected to go to my roots and wrestle a bear for the first time since I was a child. I expect an easy victory.

Task 1 (168 words) - 3 TPE

I’m definitely going to be heading my way out to Edmonton. Sure, it’s cold as balls there, but it has something nearby that Hamilton definitely doesn’t have. The beautiful mountains. Each day, I’ll be sure to take out a stretch escalade to the hills and taking in some performance rentals and of course scores of shitty and overpriced mountain food. I’ll hire some of my favourite pros to help me tour the backcountry, build some kickers, and get some film shots pretending to be me doing some sick tricks.

There will need to be some champagne, bourbons, scotches and various other liquors waiting for me as I do my après-ski in the limo on the way to the game as we cruise the downtown to be able to stumble out into a haze for the game. After the game of course, there will be an open bar hosted party for the other VIPs of the league where we can all rub shoulders, feel important, and drain SDcores pocketbook.

Task 2 (210 words) - 3 tpe

In reality, true physicists have assured me that whatever god is out there would never let us have a series where both teams are from locations where people wouldn’t want to visit. In my mind, I think that though in this messed up reality, we would be seeing Tampa Bay and New Orleans make it through to give us a battle of some warm climates, as well with some great party action to surround it.

Tampa Bay would have a tougher time in the playoffs, running though Manhattan and Chicago, two very desirable travel spots, leading to some very tough series between hot and cold. In the end, the sunny weather in middle of the winter would just outweigh the activities and culture of those other cities and pull them to a finals berth.

New Orleans would have a better time going through the playoffs, running into Los Angeles (which of course is over congested and overrated) and going up against worse winter vacation destinations in Edmonton.

In the end, we would see New Orleans come out on top. A great city with a vibrant culture, party scene, and one of the most famous festivals in the world along with that warm weather that everyone so desires in the winter.

Task 3 (173 words) - 3 TPE

Both teams are in middle of a chilly Canadian winter right now, and with that they have decided to band together to raise funds for coats for children in more economically challenged families. Both these cities tend to see stretches (Edmonton particularly) of freezing cold weather where it can be dangerous to be underdressed outside. Unfortunately, proper coats, mitts, scarves, etc can get expensive and this means that families are sometimes struggling to get new coats and get their kids outfitted for the winter. By raising funds, and taking coat donations (in exchange for tickets to a game next season) these teams will be helping get these kids right for winter so that they can be a little more comfortable, and not risking frostbite and other issues by being underdressed. Let’s make it so that kids can play outside, wait for the bus, and have a more fun time this winter season without having to worry about freezing, frostbite, or causing any health issues that come along with being underdressed in excessive cold.

Task 4 (173 words) - 3 TPE

The easy call for my player would be to toss him in at defense. Centre is out of the gate because I’ve only just started working on faceoffs, and we don’t really want someone who is going to go 0/25 in the faceoff dot. My player has a lot of skills to be able to fill in well as an offensive defenseman. Positioning and basic defensive skills are a strong suit of my game, and it will allow me to transition to the back end well. While a fair passer, I would be able to bring a shooting dynamic to the back end, and have more than enough speed to make up for any gaffes my player might make.

While I’m not a strong checker, I’m able to at least battle well for the puck and use my strength to try and win and not get knocked off of the puck. The scoring mindset will sit me in well as a powerplay defenseman, or to be paired well with a more defensive player.

Task 5 (210 words) - 3 TPE

While usually I’d be looking forward to a nice relaxing offseason of exposing corruption and living out my days in my spacious 3 bedroom box in San Francisco, things need to be done after the disappointing season I had, and the team also had in San Fran last year. We were coming off a very strong season where many people thought we were going to continue to contend hard in the playoffs and build with the success we had. We really let down the fans and ended up having a terrible season.

As a result, I’m starting training for next season immediately, and I’m going hard. I know I’ve heard this sentiment echoed by others in the room, and I think these trades made will help propel us to be the contenders that we’re expected to be. I am working on making my game more well rounded so that I can slot in wherever needed on the offensive front, and contribute when I get tossed into the faceoff circle. Another season like last isn’t an option, and as one of the more senior members of this team, I have to step up, lead by example, and get to working on bringing a cup to the beautiful city of San Francisco

4. So if this hypothetical injury bug would hit the team, defense would be what Lekberg Osterman would be forced to play since he is a forward and there are plenty of better choices for the center position on most teams. Faceoffs have never been a strongpoint for Lekberg Osterman. If, as we already specified earlier, Lekberg Osterman is forced to play Defense in this hypothetical then I think it would go quite well. Defense and a two-way game has always been a large part of Lekberg Ostermans game and his style of play lends itself to playing on the back end as he is a good passer, strong skater and is better than your average J player with his stick. This also wouldnt be the first time that he played on the back end in a professional hockey game. For the past 2 IIHF tournaments, Lekberg Osterman has played on the 3rd or 4th pairing as a defenseman to help negate the shortage of available defenseman for the team. While he has by no means excelled or been an upgrade compared to what an equally experienced defenseman would have accomplished, he has played quite well and he hasnt been a liability on the ice.

5. Just like last off-season, Henrik Lekberg Osterman is really looking forward to going back home to Sweden and visiting his family and friends. There is so much that you don’t realize that you will miss when you have it and that feeling of longing has only grown for each season that Lekberg Osterman has been overseas. Helping out on his parents farm is something that he misses a lot. Everything from the daily routine, the constant work that needs to be done and the ever changing needs of farmyard work is something that he has always enjoyed. Everything from taking care of the animals, to harvesting and planting cereal or vegetables, to fixing the barn or one of the old tractors. Its never a boring day on a farm and its an honest days work. He is also very much looking forward to spending a week or two hiking through northern Sweden, something that he has been wanting to do for quite some time and now he has finally managed to get some friends to tag along.

10. Food and drink sponsorships are always fun and can be an excellent and arguably safer way to try out new flavours on an highly saturated market. If Doritos and Gatorade was to make chips and a sports drink for the Colorado Raptors, I think you would have to really try and push the local flavours. As for the chips, I would probably recommend that they go for a spicey and meaty variety. My first thoughts went straight to Pueblo peppers and Bison, or something to that effect. While Bison may seem be a little too pricey and hard to come by for a flavour of chips, I dont think its too much of a problem. Making a flavourful stock does not require that much product and the peppers would likely be the larger part of the flavour experience. As far as the gatorade goes, again I want to really push home local flavours. As I understand it, Colorado is famous for its peaches and cantaloupes, two fruits that go quite well together in my opinion. So yeah, Peaches and cantaloupe! Refreshing with a balanced and warm sweetness, I think it would be a real hit.

15. A. Tommy Tuck posted a better SV% during the regular season, but Geezus Kryyst has been lights out during the playoffs. Which team has the advantage in goal for this series?
My go to answer in these situations is always that the player who is currently hot will keep doing well, especially in playoff situations. So while Tommy Tuck has been fantastic during the regular season, I think you also need to take into consideration that he may also be fatigued from playing a lot more than Kryyst over the past couple of seasons. So my answer would be that Kryyst has the better series.

B. Edmonton averages more hits per game than Hamilton, but also more PIMs - and Hamilton has proven pretty deadly on the power play this postseason while the Blizzard's PK has struggled. Be the coach: should Edmonton stick to a physical style of play or back off a bit in this series? I think that its important to stick with the type of game that has gotten you this far if you want to succeed. Changing style in the finals could be devastating so I definitely wouldnt change too much if I was Edmonton. Although I would definitely try to stay out of the box. Generally, more physical play is accepted during playoffs so it shouldnt be too much of an issue.

C. Who is your X-factor skater in this series? Who's got the intangibles? Who's gonna step up for their team when it matters most? Why do you think so?
If I had to pick just one player, it would be Edmontons Julio Tokolosh. For a long time now he has been one of the top players in the league and so far in the playoffs he has had an okay showing by his standards. I expect that he will really step up during this series and play a key role.

D. Which player name is your favorite from the rosters of these two teams? (not your favorite player, but your favorite name)
I’ve always been partial to Julio Tokolosh. Its odd enough for you to remember it and remember the person behind it but its also ‘real enough’ (for lack of a better way of describing it) that it does sound like a real hockey name. I have no idea if its a real name or not so apologies if that sounds rude.

E. WOULD YOU RATHER: (a) eat a Pepperoni pizza with Tony Pepperoni (debatably cannibalism), (b) get a nice long hug from Teddy Cuddles, © have Tor and Tommy Tuck tuck you into bed at night, (d) do squats with Hugh Jazz, (e) have a tug of war with Tig, or (f) have Aaron Wilson uncover a brand new strategy for your team to use? Why?
Theres nothing quite as relaxing as being tucked into bed as night as a child. However, as a grown-up it might be a little uncomfortable, especially when its done by two professional athletes that you have never met before. So for the uncomfortability factor alone I would like to be tucked into bed by the Tuck brothers.

I absolutely took game 1 in Edmonton, the city is amazing. I, however, took the tickets, scalped them, and instead proceeded to upgrade my gaming and streaming rig to be used in the offseason. This thing is sweet. Dual nvidia video cards as well as a special capture card, a 4K HD webcam to put my ugly mug on view for the gaming world, a new gaming chair (my old one is great and all but why not), a new $250 turtlebeach gaming headset, and I obviously took that VIP status from the SHL finals and put it towards VIP status in basically every video game I play. Apex Legends, Path of Exile (not much VIP as much as a bunch of cosmetics to make me look badass) All in all it was absolutely worth it. And I didn't have to fly to Edmonton and inconvenience myself or others in the process.

It's unreal to think, but in the world of relegation and delegation, the SHL has become a different beast. No longer is there a minor league like the SMJHL, there just is different tiers of play. 30 teams exist, 16 in the SHL and 14 in the SHLAAA, and players are drafted straight to a team from the start. At the end of each season the top 4 teams in the SHLAAA move up to the SHL and the bottom 4 teams in the SHL move down to the SHLAAA. This allows a mixture of competition and also allows teams to rebuild in an easier manner, moving down and remaining competitive even if in a few down years. That being said, it's interesting to see the Vancouver Whalers beat the Texas Renegades in six games this past finals, and the Chicago Syndicate have moved up as the Halifax Raiders have moved down in the biggest news. The Raiders were strong for some time but sadly have started a rebuild that may take several seasons.

The two finals teams have decided to team up for a fundraising opportunity to benefit both cities. What noble cause will the teams decide to benefit? What sort of fundraiser will the teams hold together? How will the two teams mesh before the finals start?

One of the most noble causes in my eyes is the ASPCA. Animals need help and love just like every other being does, and seeing Edmonton and Hamilton get together to raise money and awareness for them is just heartwarming to me. What is more exciting to me, however, is that the two teams staged a massive American Gladiators style game show around it, each competitor taking part to win a portion of the proceeds for their city. Edmonton ended up winning out, taking $74,560 while Hamilton still took a respectable $61,220 for their city. Both amounts will go a long way in saving animals lives and hopefully raise a large amount of awareness towards recusing and saving a life over getting bred puppies. In the end the most dominant competitor was Jax Duggan however, winning every match-up he was put in and going a long way towards the money raised for Hamilton in the end.

Pretend that your team has hit an injury bug - the roster is so depleted that your coach is asking you to play out of position. What position is your coach asking you to play and what about your player build will help you be successful in this new role?

I knew when Larson went down injured that this was a bad sign for my team. I couldn't have been more right. Sadly too that a certain player named Scotty Crawfling ended up getting a bad case of the gout and was unable to lace up his skates. How the hell do goalies wear all this shit, seriously? I mean, dont get me wrong, it hurts a lot less than the shot blocking I do now, but do you have any idea how hard it is to scratch an itch when there's 20 pounds of padding between your fingers and it. And don't even get me started on this mask. Though honestly maybe I do need that much of my face covered up. No one wants to see this. There's a reason I play video games at home. Anyhow that being said, I'm just throwing my body around like a WWF wrestler pre-2000. Expect blood, gore, and disappointment.

D. Which player name is your favorite from the rosters of these two teams? (not your favorite player, but your favorite name)
?

It's hard, I have quite a few players I like on both teams. If you made me choose though, I'm likely going to go with Dale Miller. He was a great lockerroom presence while I was working management for Vancouver, and he does an amazing job now leading said team.  He's a class act and dealt with all the drama this season better than most on the team as well so he gets my vote.

1. Eggy was not excited to see Vrazla show up again to claim the VIP status on the Comm’s dime. The amount of damage that was done to the league’s profit margins was not only legendary but almost intricate. With charges that if voided would cause a possible public inquiry as to what was going on in the local arenas that the public was paying to build and maintain. Even without Eggy taking the hit, he knew they were in trouble. I am going to throw a massive party for Edmonton for being the people’s champions. They know whats rights and wrong, have an amazing fan base and simply are not Hamilton. The Ti-Cats have better morals and that saying something. So, I invited the Entirety of the Edmonton Eskimos to get in on the fun and bring everyone they knew. I gave them tours of an arena where I’ve only been the visitor and showed them into the player’s locker rooms, and their showers. I don’t really remember what happened after that point but someone through a window out of a club seat, so there is that

2. For the 51st time in a row, The Calgary Dragons are in the finals. Hockey viewership is at an all-time high while the population of Calgary blows up into one of the biggest cities in the world. Many of them born nine months after the championship has been awarded. The parade decorations are now just permanent fixtures of the city, offering some a religious experience as the Dragons have had miracle effects on those who watch. It is often said that the blind can see clearly when sitting at a Dragons game, and this coming final, against the SteeleHawks, was to be no different. Ham had made their ritualistic sacrifices in order to score at least one goal against the undefeated in fifty-one years of hockey that has existed. The fans with season tickets are rusted to their seats as they have no need to move or experience anything other than perfection on ice.

4. Calgary’s injury bug has gotten so bad that the iron curtain is crumbling. Vrzala, not really having an offensive upside and really just being a less talented goalie on the ice, was tasked by the coach to learn to become a goaltender for a day. Vrzala, who loved the freedom that skating brought him and spent days at a time out skating the rivers back in Czechia, was not used to the goalie gear that was given to him. It’s big and bulky and the skates are seemingly made to not let a trendy get moving. The stick is the un-intuitive thing that Vrzala has ever wielded. Why are goalie sticks so terrible, was a thought that frequently came to mind. As it came to playing the position, Vrzala was used to blocking shots, so that part of the gig came naturally, although he found that his hands were not as ready to get in the way as opposed to his body. Defenseman basically play an armless goalie and that’s what Vrzala looked like in net. This and a flounder during every loose puck drill.

5. Vrzala is starting to get to the age where while playing hockey is fun, life is not just fully hockey. He is starting to look for an option that comes after hockey. A little bit of relaxation won’t hurt too bad as he is a Cup winner and the past season was absolutely brutal with how long it went. Some time back in Czechia to skate around and be with the family will be greatly appreciated. Afterward, there is always the IIHF games that are always one of the most fun activities that Vrzala gets to participate in. Playing for worlds is one of the most patriotic things that Vrzala can do and with his love of Czechia he wants to be up and center in their attempt to win a gold medal in the show. Not that it wouldn’t hurt his chances in being in the triple gold club, but its all for the love of Czechia.
