isnt the defining characteristic of a taco the fact that it has a tortilla. i would say you would need a rather abstract definition of taco for a hotdog to be considered one. however it isnt as much of a stretch to consider it a sandwhich. however i am of the opinion that a hotdog is simply its own thing.
