Even though the draft is around corner, Will is looking for ways to improve his game before he hears his name called by the SMJHL commissioner. 
Will decided to get a new stick. Given his sponsorship by CCM, Will knew he would have a wide variety to choose from. However, whatever model he chose had to be a CCM stick (this was due to his contract with them). With this in mind Will started testing sticks for hours.
Watching the man work was both amazing and exhausting. He seemed to put every effort into developing a way to make his game all the more elite. As the day dragged on, Will became sure that there wouldn’t be a perfect hockey stick for him. That’s when he saw the stick. He remembered it clearly from his childhood. The CCM Ultra Tracks Hockey Stick. The same one that Pavel Datsyuk used. Will picked it up and tried it out. He glided across the ice as he handled the puck into the offensive zone, and ripped a shot from the point. 
It seemed like he was there forever trying to match some of the famous (or infamous) Datsyukian Dekes. This brought so many childhood dreams back to Will as he was about to embark on his journey to the SHL. He was so close to professional hockey that he could practically taste it. His whole life had come together and now he was walking in the shoes of his idol. Well his feet aren’t quick big enough to fill Datsyuk’s shoes yet. But one day Will hopes to be remembered like the “Magic Man”. 
“This is it”, will said quietly as he stood up grabbed the stick. He packed up his hockey equipment silently and left the arena, unsure of when the next time he would be returning. The place that had housed so many of his memories would now be in his rear view mirror as he entered the next chapter of his life. 
Will doesn’t even know where he will be playing after tomorrow. While this was somewhat worrisome, Will finally had a bit of freedom. His life was all about to change and for the better. He arrives at the draft a few hours early and takes in his surroundings. This is where he becomes a household name and is on his first step of earning the title of “legend”.
