Updates from the SHL Graphics Department
#1

Hello SHL.

Today we would like to bring you some updates to the graphics community and since some are relatively major changes, we thought to announce it this way as a media article.

1) We have created an updated grading scale for signatures that are submitted and have created a more detailed guide on how this scale is applied to submissions. The intent of this update is to remove some of the subjectivity and inconsistency from grading as well as to increase transparency to the community on the grading process and provide awareness on how people can work toward a better grade. You can find this new grading scale and examples with detailed explanations here. The new scale and all other changes will be introduced after the S64 double draft graphics week, i.e. the first week where we will use it will be submission week 3/27. If you haven't heard about our double draft week yet, you can find the announcement here.
2) We have removed the "Equipment Style Graphics" category as this did not see enough use over the last time.
3) We would like to change the way site banners are graded, aligning these to the 'signature' category instead of 'art' as the make up of these submissions are closer to signatures. Anyone can submit a championship banner style graphic for grading, but considering the banners are often the first visual element new forum visitors get to see, we will award those banners selected for display on the forum's sidebar a 2x payment bonus after grading.
4. Currently the 'art' category encompasses a wide array of submissions. On occasion we receive hand drawn art, both physical and digital, to recognize and promote the effort that goes into creating these pieces we would like to award hand drawn art submissions with a 2x payment bonus.
5. Finally, after reading last season's user feedback, we would also like to adjust the payout amounts for both signatures and hockey cards as follows (also starting with submission week 3/27):

Signatures

1/5$250k$300k
2/5$500k$600k
3/5$750k$900k
4/5$1M$1.2M
5/5$1.25M$1.5M

You can find these updated scales here as well now. And, as always, feel free to join the SHL's graphics discord if you need help or feedback.

A big thanks goes to @Evil_AllBran for the extra work put into helping with these new updates and definitions. Please split media payout 50:50 between us.
