Chicago Syndicate Off-Season Charitable Contributions
#1

Chicago, IL - During the 2032-2033 offseason season, the Chicago Syndicate, its players, and several charitable foundations raised more than $1.7 million in support of charitable organizations throughout the state. In particular, Melvin Majestik-Moose found himself on the forefront, studded out as a new Chicago Syndicate player for this season. Here are just some of the events that have occurred this offseason.

Go Play 365: Melvin and the Go Play 365 members partnered with Chicago Consolidated School District in an effort to design and promote a summer program at Go Play 365 locations throughout downtown Chicago. This included multiple visits to various CCSD schools in the area. The children had a great time trying to score against the former defensive player, and at every school there was a shootout competition of students versus the large quadruped. Melvin maintained a positive attitude as many children bested him off the ice, but he promised that he would continue practicing leading up the season. During the season the team and Melvin vowed to raise money through his own charitable contributions, as well as charitable purchases at the Syndicate stadium. Each player on the Syndicate vowed to donate $50 per win during the regular season, and $100 per win during the playoffs. Fans were also encouraged to donate as well. Find out more as well as how to donate to the program on the Chicago Syndicate website.

SHL Wish Foundation: Chicago Syndicate players Melvin Majestik-Moose and Adelie de Pengu worked with the SHL Wish Foundation throughout this offseason as well. The forward donated four tickets per game across select games to the Wish Foundation families in the area. Following the games, Majestik-Moose made a vow to spend time with each ticket recipient. In addition to donating the tickets and his time, Melvin is rumored to have suggested being a part of the selection process for Wish Foundation recipients. He wanted to be involved and know the story behind the selection for every member, to better know who he was going to meet. Previous interactions of Melvin with the Wish Foundation have shown that he has included personalized gifts, clothing to wear during the game, and more depending upon each recipient. Find out more on Melvin’s twitter during the season. @moosemajestik

Syndicate’s Heros: The Chicago Syndicate have partnered with the local first responders in the area to help provide tickets to the Syndicate games throughout the season. Postgame, some players on the Syndicate roster will be around to meet the ticket recipients and give them a tour of the Syndicate locker room. It would not surprise me to see many members of the Syndicate visit local fire halls and hospitals throughout the season to meet and spend time with first responders as well. The organization is new this year, so if you would like to find out more, please visit the Chicago Syndicate website.

Public Hockey Rinks: As a personal project, Melvin Majestik-Moose has worked to fund several public hockey rinks throughout the city and in the surrounding suburbs. He recognizes that hockey is an incredibly expensive sport for many families to undertake, and he wanted to find ways to help reduce the costs. These public arenas will operate on a needs-based pay scale, allowing children from families struggling financially to receive support for hockey equipment and ice time. Melvin is even working with local government to install bus stops, or add a bus line to allow local neighborhood children to access the hockey arenas regardless of transportation.

Chicago’s Hockey Girls of Tomorrow: In an effort to help bring more attention to the Premier Hockey Federation, formerly the National Women’s Hockey League, and to support young girls who fell in love with the sport, the Chicago Syndicate have partnered with Chicago’s Hockey Girls of Tomorrow. Working at several of their locations, they have planned workshops throughout the offseason to help engage with these young hockey players and prepare them for their own upcoming season Find out more about these workshops, as well as how to attend them on the Chicago Syndicate Website.

Here I was thinking my team was the Chicago Syndicate's favourite charity :(

“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. ... There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.”
