Mini media: Sir Devoir pregame routine

So this will be a quick media thing about Sir Devoir's daily routine before each home game because I really need money after I bought Personal Coaching recently. That is also why I wrote the second part of the SHL Teams as Pokemon today. His away routine usually involves a lot of the same things, but also involves a plane and bus trip.

On game day Sir Devoir wakes up in his log cabin in the woods near Baltimore before going to take a shower. In this particular shower he will visualize every possiblity that the upcoming game will have, and how he should respond to them. He would also visualize advice that people have given him, and will listen to a relaxing meditation playlist during the shower and while drying off and while going to meditate. The mediation will consist of him going into a mediation pose and once again visualizing every possiblity the game will have.

He will even visualize the results that would not go in his favor just so he can think of how well he will react. He believes that keeping a brave face even in the moment of defeat will keep him motivated and help him continue to improve. Once the meditation period is over, he will then do his initial stretch period before eating a good breakfast and heading out to his car. A few times he has been stopped by police officers who couldn't believe that a Gallade was talking to them and was driving.

Once he manages to get to the arena, he goes into a pregame meeting with the rest of the team where they go over the game plan. He will also have talks with the Defenders and see how well they are feeling about the upcoming game to get a feeling about how many shots he will have to defend. He always hopes that they are feeling good that day so the game will be easier on him, and he will also have talks with the rest of the team and even his backup goalie. He tries to keep a good relationship with every player on the team and the team manager and GMs, and tries to help keep the backup goalie as ready as possible for the scenario where Devoir has to be taken out of the game.

Devoir used to hate the flashing camera that some fans used to have, but since the ban on flash photography in the arena it has not been anywhere near as bad as it used to be. After Devoir and the team dresses in their gear, with Devoir's goalie mask usually styled with both an American flag and Japanese flag design on it, Devoir and the team skate out to the ice and take their places for the National Anthem. Devoir will put his arm over his heart and take his mask off for every rendition of the Anthem, because he believes that he is as much of an American citizen as a Japanese one. Once the Anthem ends, Devoir usually looks across the ice to the opposing goalie and gives them a nod as to say good luck before putting his mask back and waiting for the puck to drop.

It is time for the game to begin.
