S74 Christmas Giving Leaders [2x Media]
#1

Christmas is the season of giving, which is why this article will highlight two of the most giving things in SHL: assists and giveaways!  One is great, one is less than ideal, but here at SHL we don't discriminate when it comes to benevolence, especially at this time of year.

So let's get right to it - and remember, this is supposed to be fun!

When it comes to assists, the conversation starts and stops with Konstantin Selich of the Buffalo Stampede.  Selich always feels generous as he consistently sets up his teammates for easy goals.  Whether it's a cross-ice pass, a two-on-one easy layup, or just his unselfish nature, Selich is the king of giving this year in SHL.  Through 51 games, he's logged an incredible 66 assists which is nine clear of second place.  Merry Christmas to the other Stampede forwards!

Next, we'd be remiss if we didn't highlight the current silver medal holder from the wonderful city of Atlanta, Billy Herrington!  Herrington has 57 assists which is an incredible showing with 15 games left remaining in the Empire City of the South.  And Herrington isn't shy about spreading the love as he sets up defenders, fellow forwards alike.  Merry Christmas from 65F and rainy weather!

There's a grouping of three players all sharing the bronze medal at 56 assists apiece, who deserve to get their shout out.  Binko Koivu from Atlanta, M'Baku Olubori from Baltimore, and EGGWARD ELRIC from Edmonton are all standout players in the league this season and have been setting up teammates on a daily basis. Their generosity and team-centered nature are a head coach's dream come true as this trio truly only care about winning and making sure they put their teams in position to bring home wins game in and game out.

And while assists are a great way of giving this holiday season, we have to highlight the true altruists of the league - those who are 100% dedicated to giving away the puck!

This year, there is no one like Tomas Lind and Sophie Bordeleau when it comes to donations. Lind, a Manhattan legend has totaled 80 giveaways, which just highlights his dedication to the cause this holiday season. From handing opposition players the puck to intentionally passing into harm's way, Lind's love of giving knows no bounds.  It's wonderful to see a player truly dedicated to the cause!  Like Lind, Bordeleau has 80 giveaways on the season and has gone full Santa on the ice every single game so far this year.  While the Big Bearded Man in the Red Suit jumps down chimneys to leave toys, Bordeleau has been leaving presents all over the ice for opponents to pick up.  I can just imagine the look of joy on the opposing players' faces when they realized they've been blessed by Santa Bordeleau.

With Lind and Bordeleau sharing gold, we'll give the bronze to Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson and their 78 giveaways on the season.  Someone said that Ekholm-Gunnarsson was recently seen leaving the arena in a flying sleigh pulled by reindeer, but that could not be confirmed.  Regardless, one thing is definitely true - LE-G loves to take care of their fellow players by allowing them the opportunity to take possession of the puck. In this hallowed season of giving and sharing, this is just another great example of someone who takes the true meaning of the season to heart.

Merry Christmas!
