If you look up extrovert in the dictionary, you're not going to find a picture of Matviy Cajabi. Quiet by nature, he's not often one to seek out the limelight. Of course, when you play sports at higher levels, it becomes increasingly harder to avoid being recognized. Cajabi was able to maintain his anonymity for the better part of his first season in Anchorage, being a relative unknown and rookie for the Armada. Playing in the shadows of stars like Ubba Lodbrok, that anonymity extended onto the ice as well.
However, Cajabi's name carries a little more weight going into his second season in the SMJHL, particularly after his recent showing at the SHL draft. Armed with a firmer grasp of the English language and knowledge of what it's going to take to become a star now and in the future, he's opened himself up to becoming a larger part of the community and working on his "brand".
With Cajabi remaining in Anchorage during the offseason to concentrate on his training, he decided to get involved with some local charity efforts. Among those, he's been working with BBBS Anchorage (Big Brothers Big Sisters). Having grown up as an only child, the idea of devoting some of his time to helping the organisation was a no-brainer. Whether he's introducing the youngsters to the game of hockey or just mucking around, he always has a smile on his face. He's even been able to talk the Armada organisation into setting aside a block of tickets for one game a month so that the kids can come down and take in the game first-hand and see Cajabi fly on the ice. His community work, combined with a classic turn as "awkward hockey player" in a local ad for Northwest Sneaker (Cajabi is a bit of a sneakerhead), Cajabi's becoming a bit more of a household name among these parts. His role should be expanded for the Armada this year as well, so make sure to get your hands on one of his jerseys before they sell out.

In between seasons, Chuff D'Lee likes to head home to visit family. The biggest problem with this is he is quite recognizable around town. On top of that, he has become especally popular as of late due to his participation in the Colorado Raptors most recent cup run. During plane travel Chuff likes to dawn a trenchcoat and sunglasses to become less recognizeable. On top of that he tries to only speak in a series of grunts. One ugh means yes, two ughs mean no. A long OoOOhh means, get me a taco im starving here! Once landing at the airport, Chuff is trasported to his parents house in the trunk of a Nissan 370z. Of course Chuff has not forgetton his roots and makes sure to always visit the boys at his old rink. There he likes to tell stories of his wild locker room dancing while sipping on a "Chuff D'Coco", for old times sake. He is sure to give up and coming players some pointers before disappearing back into the night. At the end of the day, Chuff is just a hometown wad who dosnt care much for the fame and attention. But hes not too good to show his face.

I definitely love to go out on occasion and going on vacation instead of training all offseason is a nice perk. I don't expect much fan interaction though. I am a pretty low scoring player down the depth chart on a team based out of Regina so there's not going to be many fans who have even heard of me outside of this small middle of no where city. Sure as heck won't be any fans who have heard of me anywhere else in the world outside of maybe New Orleans since I'm in their farm system. While I love NOLA I have no interest in visiting that swampy city as we head into summer so I'll stick to being unknown and happy for it. I'll get a little training in here and there but mostly it will be vacation fan free for me.
During the off season Adam Liebold likes to relax and enjoy his time away from the spotlight. He likes to travel to areas that he doens't need to see many people so he can keep to himself and focus on his training and recouperating for the next seasons demanding pysicality. Though Adam Liebold tries to avoid being recognized he does enjoy interacting with fans. If he is recognized he likes to have a conversation with his fans and try to get to know them and meet new people. He has been quoted saying that everyone has interesting lives and he wants to learn all he can about his Platoon fans. He does try to avoid that when he is training though becasue the of the deep concentration he has on pushing himself to the absolute limit and extend his career as long as he can! He will always take a picture or sign an autograph after the workouts without question!
There was a time that Jack St. Clair used to care about being in the best shape, refusing to vacation, and just dedicate everything to the Edmonton Blizzard with hopes of being a super-star. Those days are now behind him though with the Edmonton Blizzard management no longer believing in Jack and shipping him off to Toronto. Never hitting that level of stardom, something St. Clair could do freely in Edmonton was walk around with no fans really bothering him, probably not even knowing who he is. So for JSC to go on vacation, he could go where ever he wants and relax the whole time. Should he run into a fan though, he would try to make the best of the encounter with a selfie and an autograph. Should the fans be of legal drinking age he'd even offer to buy them a drink at the bar and chat and tell stories with them.
Cormier isn't really the type of player to normally get a whole lot of attention when he goes out which he finds to be a bit of a blessing when he sees the likes of Maximus and Truck getting swarmed just for going out to check the mail. That said, he definitely doesnt mind the attention when it does happen, he just hopes it stays at the level it is now which is every once in a while, maybe 2 or 3 times per season. He has the bennefit of playing for a team stacked with super stars so when it comes to recognizable faces, he's pretty far down the totem pole in New England. He also wasn't drafted there and didnt have that prospect pedigree you might get from a 1st round draft pick that your team actually drafted. When he does get pulled over though, Cormier remembers what it was like for him to meet his idols growing up and tries to give back as much of his time as he can, within reason, to hopefully created lasting memories and fans like the players before him did.
During the offseason, Rodrigo Banes revels in the chance to spend time with fans. Although the interactions can get stressful, especially as emotions regularly run high in the height of the season, during downtime is when he finds the fans the most welcoming and eager to engage. He will always make time for random encounters, taking selfies and signing autographs wherever he runs into fans. During the regular season he is a little less public and giving with his time, and will spend more of his time focused on in-season things and limit his public appearances to more team-fronted events and outings. That being said, he always has time for his fans, even the ones who are convinced he is terrible and already a draft bust before playing a single game in the SHL. Of course, he gets recognized most often when he is out with his father, and the two of them often get stopped for photos as they walk/run/cycle the Vancouver seawall.

Rest in the offseason is for suckers when it comes to the Manius’s mind on hockey. So the offseason starts as any off season would although this offseason will be rough as Grampa Big and Dad Lil’ came to town to ride and torture poor Hugh this offseason after the horrendous season he had last year. I know as Hugh received zero milestone this past season. What a disgrace to the family so Big and Lil’ felt obligated to get Hugh in shape as neither Lil’ or Big what to support his ass, so Hugh needs a long career. Although while being run across the Louisianian landscape and swimming the swamps. Hugh would talk to fans that approach him and be courteous to those fans as he is thankful for the break. Although Big and Lil’ will usually jump in and try to remove the fans with hockey accolades which work a little for Lil’ but not so much for Big but let us be honest we are not in Manitoba.

Its well known that Willow is very much against social media and actively refuses to partake in most of the social media trends save for those really quick ones when she walks by the camera and barks out an answer, so when the news gets out shes taking over the San Francisco Instagram and Twitter accounts people are excited. Now usually when a player takes over the social media platform its like a day in the life content or the equivalent of an “Ask Me Anything” style of post, not for Willow though. Her takeover would more be akin to Wendy’s twitter in the early 2010s when the corporate Twitter account would actively insult people. The engagement that this would create would be phenomenal in the short term and get more people following the team and engaging with the posts. Whats going to draw people in more, an athlete answering a question about what their favorite food is, or an athlete roasting you back over a comment you made on Twitter a month ago.
Journey Man is a man of the earth, and a man of the people. He doesn't spend his off-season training in private, state-of-the-art gyms. No, Journey goes about in his new town of San Diego, interacting with the people. He tries to learn new ways of exercising, while educating himself on the customs of the locals and their history. Man doesn't get too much attention at this point in his junior career, but he's definitely at a new high in fame, as the San Diego fans are stoked to have a team and know that Man will be one of the vets this season. Journey takes on all the autographs and selfies in stride, only asking for a small chat with each fan to learn about who they are and what their town means to them. Journey's goal was always to travel the planet and be a champion of the planet, but Man might just end up being a champion of the people, too.
Written Option 2: While offseason is prime time for training it is also the time for rest for the players so they are ready for long season ahead of them.
Should you stay at home or go to vacation, going to any public spaces has a chance to run into a fan or group of them.
How does your player interact on these encounter? Do they like the attention? Do they need to reserve 3 hours and 2 pens to go to local store?
Selfie with first and run from the rest? Maybe they are doing their best to be as unrecognizable?
Or just do they take a car with tinted windows from door to door with few security guards making sure nobody gets to talk to them (while Chirping away at fans on their phone)?
Niclas Sundqvist is not a real vacation heavy man. Of course, going back home to Sweden to see his beloved family and friends is not counted as a vacation, rather a very well deserved rest. Of course, talk is among town when he returns, especially as he goes back to his old club and shares the story of having moved to America and playing for the Great Falls Grizzlies and how the future in Manhattan Rage might be. Talking and being inspiring for the young ones are very important to him as he tries to fit in some time on the ice in the rink where he grew up. Important is also time in the old life. Eating mom and dad's homecooked food, spending time with old friends and just trying to live a life not connected to hockey. Well, almost. Like almost both the SMJHL and the SHL, Sundqvist is incredibly addicted to Chirper, making almost a chirp per day on average.
