Czeching out the Czechia Line up:

Each week we are going to look at 3 to 4 players from Czechia and see who exactly they are in the SHL. The deep-ish dive will go in Seniority Order for us. Lets keep the Czhit going!

Last week we spoke about Noel Blanchet, Jimmy Larkin-Conway, and Petr Svoboda. This week we are going to be looking at 3 more amazing parts of Czechia: San-sam Emerson , Jayson Aittokallio and Dominik Winters

Born in Incheon, South Korea, San-Sam Emerson is out most experienced Defenseman on our team. San-Sam was drafted 3rd overall in the S62 draft by the Regina Elk (GO ELK!) That season San-Sam would be just like Noel Blanchet and make the rookie all star team, just 5 seasons after Noel did it. San-Sam would enter the Jr league as a free agent prior to the draft, playing 21 games with Detroit before being drafted the following season. With Detroit Emerson managed 5 points over 21 games, with 24 hits. However, Emerson would expand greatly from Detroit, as with Regina San-Sam managed to get 42 goals, 114 points, 224 blocks and 193 hits over 198 games played. In the playoffs San-Sam would only make 17 games, but still played important defensive minutes with 18 blocks in 7 games for season 64.

In the SHL San-Sam took it to the next level. Drafted by the Philadelphia Forge in the first round, being the 6th overall pick. San-Sam would start in Philly in Season 65. As of today, San-Sam is still with the Forge. In S65 They made the Rookie All Star Team. In S69 they won the Challenge cup! In S70 Emerson was nominated for both the Bojo Biscuit and Scott Stevens award, and also made the 2nd All Star Team In fact, Emerson has been nominated for the Scott Stevens in S70,71,72,73, and 74. Emerson made the 2nd all star team in S70, the 1st all star team in S71, the 2nd all star team in S72 and S73, and finally the first all star team in S74. For the Forge in the SHL, San-Sam has played 771 games, and is currently sitting at 555 points. Emerson has over 1000 blocks (1223) and is 21 hits away from 1k as well. San-Sam has slowed down slightly from the peaks of 70ish points per game, but is still a used and relied on part of the Forge today.

Internationally, Czechia has used San-Sam in the same light as Philly, in every possible situation. San-Sam plays on the Pk and PP, putting up blocks and shots at every turn. San-Sam has over 200 blocks, over 100 hits, and 47 points over 132 games played for Czechia. Emerson is a minute eater for Czechia, putting up tons of minutes, over 20 a game. Emerson is a pillar in the back end that we have used to support the surrounding team.

While San-Sam has been around for a long time, we hope that Emerson sticks around even longer. We hope after all these years of putting that 6 foot 2 inch frame on the line for Czechia, we can return the favor in Gold!

Born in Brno, Czech Republic, Jayson Aittokallio is a cornerstone for Czechia. This Season 65 player is almost a billionaire, less than 200k away. Jayson was undrafted in the Jr league, playing 2 seasons total before being called up. In 117 total games played between YUM and ANA, Jayson (a center at the time, mind you) pulled 74 points. The minors couldn't hold Jayson for long, however.

New drafted Jayson in the 4th round, 69th overall (nice) in the S65 draft. Come S66, Aittokallio was centering for New England. Around season 73, Jayson was approached by management and asked to switch from Center to Defense, a switch Jayson accepted. This switch has lead Jayson to have some very good stats both offensively and defensively. With over 700 games played, Aittokallio is 5 goals away from 200, with 516 points. Currently has 841 blocks with 21 game winning goals and over 500 hits. The only thing Jayson doesn't really do is a ton of power play time, but that doesn't matter much since Jayson has also won 2 Challenge Cups, in S70 as a Center and S74 as a Defenseman. A true player who's utility enabled the best product on the ice.

Internationally, Jayson has played for his home country since day one. Current stats state that Jayson is 4 games away from 100 games played for Czechia. Aittokallio currently shooting at 12.5%, with 20 goals and 43 points.

Personally, Luke is a great mentor and a huge reason why Czechia is the Bestia. Luke is willing to help do anything for just about anyone. The worst thing I can say about Luke is that they are friends with @Rich who is mean to me for no reason, but outside of that, Luke is number 1 as far as I'm concerned. I've been lucky to have a lot of good GMS, but Luke sits in a group all on his own. His first and only real concern is the people he is managing, his own player gets neglected to ensure everyone else is having / getting what they want. I aspire to be like him for Czechia. Thank you Luke for everything you have done for me, and Specifically what you have done and what you bring to Czechia!

@39alaska39 Czechia

Born in Pardubice, Czechia, Dominik Winters is our first player to break into the 70s, being an S71 center. Drafted by the St. Louis Scarecrows with the 3rd pick in the S70 jr draft, Winters showed up in a big way. Winning the Matt Lewis-Flood award in S70, Winters had 44 points in their rookie season. In S72, Winters would win a four star cup with St. Louis. S73 Dominik was nominated for the Brandon Holmes award, and also made the Defense All Star Team. With 264 games played for St. Louis, Winters was 1 point shy from being a PPG player, with 96 goals and 167 assists. Winters would have 15 Game winning goals over those 4 seasons, as well as 365 hits.

In the SHL, Dominik was drafted 5th overall by the Pride of San Francisco. In 3 seasons, Dominik is 11 points behind a PPG pace, with 166 points in 177 games. Winters has had great success with the Pride scoring 8 game winners so far. While he hasn't won the Challenge Cup yet, it is all but certain that any team that has Dominik Winters will have a shot.

Internationally Winters is currently Co-Fed Head for Czechia, and as such has been with Czechia since day one. Winters page is messed up :https://index.simulationhockey.com/iihf/player/862?season=70 But Winters had a break out season last year, pulling 15 points in 12 games, and really helping Czechia take the next step towards success.

Personally, Alaska has been a great help to Czechia and is a big part of our turn around. We haven't found success yet, but Alaska along with the rest of the group have really helped lay the foundation that will hopefully lead us to success! Thanks for everything Alaska!! Czechia
