S46 PT #1 - SHL! True Hollywood Story

The story of upcoming S46 rookie, Guy Zheng, is an interesting one. Drafted in the SMJHL S45 draft by the Kelowna Knights, Zheng is an offensive dman who put up 31 points in his rookie season. Choosing to stay down for the season he is already starting hot with 10 assists in 11 games, almost point per game! Zheng was drafted by the New England Wolfpack with their 3rd selection in the first round, which they acquired by trading up the day of the draft. He was given the opportunity to move up immediately and become a true rookie, but instead decided to stay loyal to the team that drafted him in the J and help lead them towards post season success. I am lucky to be his teammate both in Kelowna and New England and I hope to achieve a lot of success playing with him throughout our careers.

I'd personally like to see the story of Jonathan Lundberg. Drafted into the SHL in S25, he's made a career for himself as one of the league's premiere power forwards. You can start out looking at his career in juniors as a member of the Kelowna Knights, a quiet fellow who rose up the ranks to become the team's co-GM. While he started his career with the Calgary Dragons as a draftee, he would never play a game for the organization spending his entire entry-level contract in juniors with the Knights. When he made his SHL debut, he began to make a name for himself as a member of the New England Wolfpack's championship winning teams. After leaving the Wolfpack he became somewhat a journeyman, traveling from team to team and continuing to compete at the highest level which is what earned him his first Dar trophy as the league's top power forward. Lundberg's story is still being told, so it's impossible to say how it will end, but one things for certain - this is a man who will find himself in the HOF not long after he retires.

Viktor Marius was once the cream of the crop front eh S39 draft, showing his 2nd round position on draft Day was one the owners and GMs were kicking themselves for not sending their scouts to Latvia which is unforgivable. Marius spent an unremarkable season on Detroit where scouts again did not watch him play which is more forgiving considering Detroit... But Marius rose to stardome in his D+1 season down in detorit. His TPE accumulation was off the charts, however, there was more to be seen.

Marius became an embarrassment as the league had issued the Marius rule due to his negligence. Marius had been playing with a TPE overage resulting in a suspension and major fine. The use of HGH was likely responsible for his overage but it stunted his production on the ice.

Marius went through 3 seasons of hell, making up for the embarrassment and atrophied skills he had worked towards. The legaue realized that the HGH he was on was a grey area as there it was not officially a banned substances, however the damage was done.

Marius is showing signs of being back to dominance recently and one can only hope that his start shines bright once again

On this season of SHL: Hollywood Story, we are revisiting one of the greatest wash-outs this league has ever seen. Ekaterina Rudnikova, only a season after being crowned the best goalie in the SHL, vanished entirely from the rink. Rumors flew after her agent released a retirement announcement, but in this new look into her life now, we discover what sent Rudnikova running, her struggles with alcohol, and her new family. Only a few months after her son was drafted second overall to the SHL, see how the former mediocre at best goaltender is holding up. In this season, we will visit her remote Siberian home for a series of exclusive interviews. Hear about her time lifting the Cup in Manhattan, a grinding juniors career in Colorado, and the live of a truly journeyman goaltender. Whatever things Rudnikova may be, there's one thing she isn't, and that's boring.

I want to see the story of Eric Pelletier, a player who made a lot of sacrifice to bring the Chiefs to the cup again. Starting as a young recruit, Eric joined the Chiefs after 3 strong seasons in the junior league. In his first year, he was mainly there as a young support, but the team managed to win the Challenge Cup. After that glorious time, the team started to fell off. They stated to become eliminated from the playoff, sometimes, they managed to get a close invitation to be eliminated. Becoming old, Eric invested a lot of time and effort to rebuild the team. Now, as a veteran, his team managed for 2 years to make a strong performance at the playoff. Will he win another cup before old age gets its toll on him ? A story of up and down, a team being rebuilded just after tasting the ultimate glory of hockey. I would pay to see that.

Shooter McGavin started as a pro golfer who just couldn't win the Green Jacket, no matter how many times he was favored or how big of a lead he had going to the back nine, he would always find a way to lose. One day, after blowing a 4 stroke lead to an amateur, he went nuts, got drunk, and crashed his car. He was banned from golf and lost in life. He met an old friend and got into hockey, a sport that was almost similar to holding a golf club. However, it looked bleak, like he would never get a chance...but then the Raiders came calling to give him a chance. Shooter struggled early in his career and was looking like a lost cause, but after a couple of years in junior things started to look better and more hopeful. After lighting up the pre-season, he got called-up by his SHL team, the Calgary Dragons. Paired with veteran players, he has a solid start to his career, but it was in the playoffs where he made a name for himself. In game 5 of the Cup Finals, tied at 2 games a piece, Shooter McGavin scored the overtime winner, on a team that eventually went on to win the Cup! Shooter was a depth player, but he came up huge when it mattered most, erasing the memories of his prior golf disappointments. Now he looks to be on his way to a core leader of the dragons, and it all started with a second chance.

The true Hollywood story of Mikhail Lokitinov @ml002 is a tale embroiled in deceit, deception and espionage. Raised as an orphan by the Russian state he was entered into a program to train the next generation of sleeper agents. His affinity for hockey was recognised early in his development and he was given into the care of the men's national team where he received the best coaching and sports science the eastern bloc had to offer. On his twelfth birthday he was sent to Austria where he would eventually gain citizenship as a way of covering his past. Eventually making it to North America he worked his way up the Prince George Firebird's hierarchy until he was made general manager at which point he relocated the franchise to Anchorage in an effort to be closer to the motherland. Little is known of how many players he has indoctrinated or what his final mission is now that he has relocated to Toronto. Only time will tell.....

Equus Revisited: The Rainbow Dash Story

Most little girls love ponies. Some girls though, take things a little too far......

This is the story of one of the most promising talents the SHL has ever seen. This is also the story of a disturbed and disturbing woman who took Pony Power to a place it was never meant to go. From her origins in idyllic Cloudsdale, her growing rivalry with Twilight Sparkle, which of course ended in a tragic stabbing incident, the attempted coup d’etat of Princees Celestia which landed her a stretch in Pony Prison, her epic comeback triumph in the Grand Galloping Gala, the allegations of sugar doping surrounding the famous Wonderbolts flying team and their relationship with Bulks Bicep. This is a story of triumph and tragedy writ large.

So tune in and watch this epic tale (tail?) of pony power. Friendship might, indeed, be magic, but magic can go horribly wrong.

The SHL documentary I’d most want to see would be the story of Big Manious. A seventh-round SMJHL Draft selection in Season 21, and the 27th overall pick in the Season 22 SHL Entry Draft, Manious was the definition of an unheralded prospect. Nonetheless, he became one of the most feared defensemen in SHL history. Standing at 6’9” and 265 pounds, Manious lived up to his name on the ice and made an equally sizable impact with his game. One of the top shot-blockers of all time, Manious also racked up 2,252 hits over his 18-season SHL career.

The documentary could cover several intriguing angles of Manious’ career. How did such a low-profile prospect become one of the most feared players in the league? Did Manious never get his due as a defensive defenseman in a league that focuses so heavily on offensive production? It would also discuss how the Manious name has become ingrained in the fabric of the Winnipeg Jets, one of the league’s truly historic franchises. Not only was Manious part of two Challenge Cup championships (a young budding player for Leafs4Ever’s last Cup, while a cagey veteran for the S37 champions coming during the Jets’ new era), but now Big’s son Lil’ Manius was part of the Season 44 Challenge Cup champions.

The story of Terrance Nova would be an interesting one. The fact that he grew up in a place where hockey is not popular at all would make it inspiring. Being from Houston, Texas, its not easy to start playing hockey without the privilege of being born into a hockey fanatic family. Nova defied odds by becoming the first star power player since Brian Leetch to be from the Southside and have pro success. The motivating story would take on his early peewee stage with authentic and personal videos of Novas trainings, game play tapes and recordings from his childhood all the way to his present career in the SHL. Everyone will have a chance to witness his motivational upbringing and it would include an in depth interview with Nova relating to the story of his life. Everyone deserves to know a little more about the potential hall of famer.

Doubt is a dream killer

when it comes to an interesting story i think i'd have to go with my dude and long time teammate Tokek Takshak. he may not have fully blossomed yet but hell, he's a god damn gecko. just the journey he took to get in some gear and out on to the ice would be friggin' amazing and no one could argue with that. picture this: a nice "planet earth" style documentary, beautiful hi-resolution and captivating footage, following a gecko and his struggles to survive in the jungle. halfway through the whole thing turns into a god damn circus when the gecko somehow leaves Indonesia, dons a jersey, and is drafted by a professional hockey league. from there i would go for a "coming of age movie" type of feel. we follow Totek through his career in the SMJHL with the Vancouver Whalers in the early s40's, his decision to represent Czechoslovakia on an international level, and on to his current slot on the Manhattan Rage's roster.

Few SHL nutcases make one scratch their head and mouth "what the fuck" at their computer screen the way this legendary user did. In fact, he wasn't just a user, he was two, a sort of Jekyll and Hyde situation, except both personalities sucked. These users were of course none other than AssPancakes and MrShit. AssPancakes seemed at first like a promising user despite his name, but was quickly blacklisted from about every conceivable locker room for being an asshole. The few teams that gave him a chance usually regretted it within weeks. AP often whipped up poorly written and nonsensical thunderdomes which further deteriorated his reputation around the league. Now while AP's reign of stupidity was in progress, a mysterious MrShit showed up to spout homophobic slurs and contribute nothing player wise. MrShit put AP as his recruiter, yet their story regarding how they knew each other never quite added up. After noticing duplicate IPs between the users, AssPancakes and MrShit were banned from SHL. Where are they now? Who gives a fuck

It’s fairly common for players that get a foothold in the league to play for more than one team. After all, during a 5-20 season career, chances are that something will arise that will make the player (or force the player) to leave their first franchise. What’s less common are the players that seem to have to have played for half the league-some people need a lot of fresh starts, or perhaps aren’t as good as their teams originally thought. But what’s even more rare is to seem this team-hoping happening in juniors. And recently, we’ve gotten to see one example of this.

Norwegian born defenseman Vegeta Muerto towers over everyone around him. His 6’11”, 270 lbs stature makes him seem massive- a near perfect goon. But his quick hands and even quicker feet made him a sought after player. In his first season in the juniors, an opportunity would arise that would see him traded from the Anchorage Armada to the Halifax Raiders. And yet, the next year he would play for the Anaheim Outlaws. With such drastic moves in less than a year, Muerto struggled in development. 1 year, 3 teams-The SHL! If I were going to pick someone to have a movie or TV show designed around them for the betterment of viewers everywhere, I'd go with the one and only Ty Hoover. So far his career has been a huge success. At every level of his life he has looked like a stud hockey player and he has never looked better than right now, coming off of two consecutive Four Star Cup wins most recently as the first line center for the St. Louis Scarecrows. On top of being a great player on the ice he has also contributed as a leader in the locker room and continues to provide the St. Louis faithful with reasons to cheer for their amazing junior franchise. For me personally as well he has been a huge difference maker as he has given me a reason to continue to progress these past few seasons. It's good to have a genuine friend around while you're going through all this stuff, and I just couldn't do it without Ty Hoover! As for the actor to portray him, I'm gonna go with Ryan Gosling.
