You are going for a compromise too early, classic rookie mistake :D

Don't want to step on any toes, still too new to the league!

Are you fine with losing Sullivan? Hmm

First of all, I never picked him. Should really pay attention. Also you really aren't reading.

I AM FINE WITH LOSING SULLIVAN.

Then what exactly are you complaining about if you are a) fine with it and B) we already agreed on the 13-15 protection number  ? Is it just to get rid of all the other suggestions where teams would only get to protect six players or something that nobody is taking serious anyway?

Well because he hasn't agreed with a 13-15 number I'm assuming

Team's get 0 protection, if a skater is taken they must automatically give up their starting goaltender. Failure to do so will result in a fine and a suspension against the team, up to and including a full season ban.

seems fair to me.

Im saying if it is anything less than 15 protected and rookies are up for grabs or the choise of rookie protection and 13 protected then it cripples my team.

As I have said for a little while here now Smile

Also just for the memory I became GM in S21.

I have been agreeing with you for the most part here. It should be a choice of 15 or 13+ rookies protected. Depending on preference for each gm.

That's okay, it's just how SHL politics go, people usually are pretty loud and aggressive so if you try to be nice and go for a compromise as early as possible then you'll likely just end up being a pushover Smile

I'm not trying to say that you need to butt heads as much as Josh and I do though :D

The 15 actually was his idea so I'm pretty sure he does Smile

I don't understand why we should make it any easier for expansion teams tbh. They're expansion they SHOULD be absolutely awful to start. That's part of the territory.

Who was the best player taken in the 2000 NHL expansion draft? I legit have never heard of like 80% of these players and the ones I have heard of were 3rd or 4th line players anyways. For reference, the first overall expansion pick that year played under 300 NHL games...

What I was saying is he isn't okay with 13 or 14 Tongue

I'll get there eventually. After I know I have a spot on an SHL team - expansion or otherwise - and I haven't scared anyone away from drafting me

Yeah and the Blue Jackets didn't have a playoff victory until 13 seasons after that. I agree it shouldn't be easy for expansion teams, but I think after 3 or so seasons they should be making the playoffs
