Also, I wanna say that I think we as a community should be kinder to each other and that includes how we interact with HO, but I can also understand how it gets to this point due to a power imbalance. HO will always get it worse because they hold the power to make decisions and other users feel powerless other than yelling at them, so they yell.

This is an unpaid hobby, I am not here to be screamed at.
If you have a problem with that you need to remember this league is humans, not some weird pong ball going back and forth.
The same way I take you being upset about the hiring serious, you can view me as something else than just a box to scream at.

Self awareness? I literally only post PTs and chirps on the forum, I don't see where I have contributed to the multiple drama threads that has been going on.
the unpaid hobby excuse is killing me if you dont want to do the job ur volunteering for dont do it

coming in as a minnesota player to say

1) cord is cool, we like him.

2) we're fucking pissed because HO took a look at a team with a strong prospect pool and a united, active locker room with genuine good vibes despite the bad things that have happened to the team recently (even before the GM announcement) and said to us "we decided this team needed a different direction"

what fucking different direction? we're already well on our way up, to me the fact that they actually said this shows that HO was incredibly out of touch with the situation the team was in at the moment that the hiring was made

With how many head office users are online and actively posting in here, I think it would be a great time to confirm that they have checked all of the gm tasks, and rosters are currently compliant as we enter the second week of the regular season

I agree man in a perfect world that would be great, but as a member of the group of people with the most power on the site to affect others’ experiences, you are gonna get some hate when a decision you had a part in worsens their experiences. Now does that make it right for people to be mean? No not really. But it’s a part of the responsibility of being in HO and it’s how the world works.

It’s hard for me to level that discussion with this event, especially given the established rapport that existed between Waters and his team, the lack of connection between Cord (who is very much the innocent bystander in this, sorry buddy) and the team, and the very clear feedback that was received from the actual players affected by this decision. I’ve been in the shoes of Chris applying internally to see an external hire come in (and bring an external co-GM with them), and the team was rightfully upset and proven correct when that individual fled after one season.

Fully understand that HO are people too, not trying to justify or argue that certain things that were said was correct or right. No one is saying Cord is unqualified or a bad option either because I’ve seen that put out there and I think that’s fully misunderstanding where the anger is coming from and why. Maybe in this case, it’s not about how HO feels, it’s about how Waters and the players affected feel.

Well, that's the thing. We hadn't seen much stability in Minnesota. Waters had only even been co-GM for one season, this wasn't a well-established, long-term Co-GM that we unseated out of spite. We saw that Minnesota had been exactly the opposite of stable, for a very long time. And that's not a shot at Waters, because again, he was a relative newcomer to this.

And yes, HO should be prepared to receive criticism for decisions. But criticism and insult are not the same thing. I am not trying to make this "about" how HO feels, I'm just pointing out that the "there's a real person behind the user" thing goes both ways.

Yeah so this reads significantly different than how Wally said I think? First time I'm reading this but this is very different than "You thought protecting Eddie meant you could threaten to put me in a grave if I went public about any thing"
