Because I can't think of any, or was that before my time here? - Snappy - 07-03-2012 I like 1, 2, and 3 - RomanesEuntDomus - 07-04-2012 Any thoughts on 4? Haven't seen anyone commenting on that one yet... - Otrebor13 - 07-04-2012 Quote:Originally posted by OcAirlines@Jul 4 2012, 12:42 PM I kinda like what you bring up about the threads. I think the Individual Training Threads for teams are kept to have them all in one place, although it doesn't really do anything because we end up linking it to our Individual Player Update Thread. If eliminating the threads for the whole team happens, I wouldn't be opposed to it. Now, you bring up how Training can sometimes be confusing to new members. Why not have something like a training template and something that links to the player store that can be pinned in all update sections of the forums or have it in the OP of the Team Individual Training threads? I think if it's there, rookies can have a guide how the training works and how it should look when posted. At the same time, it would also link them to the store so they'd be able to see what's available to them in terms of training and equipment. I think having something like this could potentially make this a lot easier and make training run smoother for new members. As for your link comment, I think it really works either way. However, I see where you're coming from. If you post "Withdraw X Amount" you should have that link in your training thread, so it actually makes sense to inverse the way things are done now. I know that it isn't necessarily a huge deal to have it the other way around, I know I do it. But for more convenience, it would be better the way you're suggesting. As for your other comments and suggestions, I agree with them. Great thread - Chadley - 07-04-2012 As a new person on this forum. I'm currently waiting to be drafted into the NWJHL. I'm having a hard time trying to stay active. I know I just joined last night. I've already made a article on myself, but I don't know what else to do. I mean I can make articles everyday all day, but that can get boring lol.. - RomanesEuntDomus - 07-05-2012 Quote:Originally posted by Otrebor13@Jul 4 2012, 07:09 PM Thanks for the comment, I agree with pretty much everything you are saying. And even though this aspect seems to be the most "boring" one brought up in this thread, I'm actually starting to think that it might be the most important one of the points I brought up. Implementing it would have no negative implications at all but would make things a lot eaier for Juniors, so I hope we can get this done as soon as possible. - OrbitingDeath - 07-05-2012 As a new member I am excited about starting, but there is indeed only a limited amount of things to do. So organizing these PT's it might keep new players active. I don't give up easily so it won't matter much for myself, but I can see people leaving quickly. One thing about these PT's that isnt really made clear in the rookie guide is the difference between capped and uncapped points earned. When you are browsing the forum and see these terms returning it can work very confusing. Here for the long term, but just wanted to add to the subject in the hope we can keep people around a bit longer. - Wadester - 07-05-2012 I like 1 and 2 a lot, but 3 only works when we have time (like last season with re-distribution), but when our off-seasons are moving quickly like they are now we don't have time to throw in a prospects toruney although its a great way to get NWJHLers interested. - diglet - 07-05-2012 i wouldnt mind a PT before the draft ![]() - Snappy - 07-05-2012 How about a "buddy system"??? You can pair up a junior with a SHLer and the SHLer could show the junior around the forums and how to do training etc.?? - Spangle - 07-05-2012 Quote:Originally posted by Snappy@Jul 5 2012, 12:37 PM Not bad...I guess. Not bad... - Phil.B - 07-05-2012 Quote:Originally posted by Snappy@Jul 5 2012, 11:37 AM Good idea. - Heater - 07-05-2012 Quote:Originally posted by Snappy@Jul 5 2012, 09:37 AM I like it, but maybe pay the Shler for this role as it will take time and effort if done properly...perhaps based on active status of the nwjhler by shl draft time ? - Otrebor13 - 07-05-2012 Quote:Originally posted by Snappy@Jul 5 2012, 11:37 AM Didn't we have this on the old forum where people were specifically designed to answer any questions juniors might have? Instead of PMing the Commissioners they would PM a group of guys? I think I remember something like this - Otrebor13 - 07-05-2012 Quote:Originally posted by Heater@Jul 5 2012, 12:55 PM I don't like the idea of being paid. It's something that should be done because you want to do it, shouldn't be considered a "job" or a "chore" to help out a new member. If it will be paid, I definitely don't want this added. |
