I'm shooting from the hip without having a definition as to how the two builds would be different. I hate the idea of eliminating checking as a choice in weakness. In fact, I screwed up by picking strength as a weakness instead. I just payed $8 million to correct that. - fgh - 11-28-2016 Quote:Originally posted by SabresFan@Nov 28 2016, 03:42 PM If everyone has Checking as a weakness, no one has Checking as a weakness tbh. I think there might even be some more fundamental problems surrounding the usage of Phy in the lines that would really show people the benefit of physical play. Hell, Crosby has 65ish CK with 40 FG in the NHL sims. - Boomcheck - 11-28-2016 Quote:Originally posted by mpc@Nov 28 2016, 12:45 PM Physical players still go checking, not sure what you're talking about. People that pick checking for a weakness are looking to score points, can you blame them? Also a less chance of getting penalties, so you're on the ice more. Strength/Defense is way better in that regard and offers secondary attributes to assist with scoring points. There's no TA/GA in this sim version so if you want to win the Dar, you don't take checking as a weakness. I have some random idea that's a suggestion but i'm not taking it too seriously. Why not just make min salaries based on a player's sim production? So players like McZ who spam themselves a lot and Minny can have their top players making bank. But really regulate some ice time stuff on forwards. I went back and checked since I remembered that Armia double shifted himself at times but realized it was NOWHERE near what people are doing now. It's ridic, he had a 88 point season and plays significantly less minutes than what i've been seeing. Armia S11 88 pnt season Avg is 24.1 TOI O'Callahan S19 63 pnt season 27.8 TOI Hall S20 67 pnt season Avg is 21.7 TOI Kane S29 67 pnt season Avg is 23 TOI McZ S30 69 pnt season Avg is 28.8 TOI Banananov S30 67 pnt season Avg is 28.1 TOI Kian Hamilton has 28.4 TOI this season, Mc-- Like legit I go through the toi list and all I see are a bunch of defencemen with Minny/Manhattan forwards. - BarnabasCollins - 11-28-2016 Why not go with a simple season long hard cap of tpe at like somewhere between 150-175 from all sources, training, equipment, pts, etc. Then you could offer all kinds of tpe reward activities without having crazy inflation. People will say it penalizes the super active but in the end we are trying to drive total activity as a whole and this would allow for many more methods to earn and allow people to pick what is the most fun for them. - WannabeFinn - 11-28-2016 Quote:Originally posted by belgarat@Nov 28 2016, 05:33 PMWooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!! - Merica - 11-28-2016 Quote:Originally posted by belgarat@Nov 28 2016, 04:33 PM Wow vote Belgar for commish - .bojo - 11-28-2016 Quote:Originally posted by Merica@Nov 28 2016, 04:35 PM I mean i said that seasons ago but I was stoooooooopid apparently. ![]() - Ballerstorm - 11-28-2016 Quote:Originally posted by Boomcheck@Nov 28 2016, 02:16 PMLove. - RomanesEuntDomus - 11-28-2016 Alright I hope it's okay if I give my take on this ![]() Quote:Originally posted by Bojo@Nov 28 2016, 07:24 PM How strict is the "voting" gonna be handled, will there be votes on pretty much everything (which could slow things down quite a bit) or only when people want to veto one of your proposals? Also, our GMs are all great members but I am a little worried about a certain "GM bias" if the majority of the people in charge of decisions are GMs. I don't think that they will make selfish decisions per se, but just the fact that ultimately GMs will lean towards the option that might benefit their team and not see the bigger picture. I'm talking about things like changes to the salary cap, or minimum contracts, where in the past GMs have been unanimously against changes that actually wound up being good for the league. Like, no GM likes a lower salary cap or higher minimum contracts, but ultimately those might be good for the league (just as an example). Quote:[b]Redesigned Discipline Committee Sounds good, how exactly will the HO - DC collaboration work though? I remember that when I was on the DC there often was confusion about which parts of a decision come from the HO and which ones the DC is responsible of. Will this change mean that the DC handles ALL matters of discipline from now on, including multis, tampering cases and permabans, or will the HO still be involved in those decisions? Quote:[b]Rulebook refinements Nice ![]() Quote:[b]Web Site Improvements Nice ![]() ![]() Quote:[b]Inter-conference Rivalry Matches I don't quite understand this but sounds interesting  Quote:[b]Recruitment Sounds good! Let's not go overboard with the reddit recruitment though, we should keep it at 1-2 reddit posts per year, preferably in the summer. We don't wanna poison that well, just look at the VHL if you wanna see a system of yearly reddit recruitment that's remarkably ineffective. Quote:[b]Player Tasks Sounds good as well but I am somewhat skeptical about relaxing the cap too much, we have already made things harder and harder for casuals over the last few years, further catering to TPE-whales might drive even more of those members away. I actually like the idea a lot that someone else posted somewhere, where people can earn money instead of TPE once they hit the cap, at a much better rate than they would get for a regular article. Quote:[b]Awards/All-Stars Good start, but the whole process has been a bit of a mess lately, might be worth further looking into it to get people in there who actually care. Especially in the SMJHL, where I would prefer having actually engaged people in charge of the awards, not just the GMs who often see it as a chore. Quote:[b]Discord Not much we can do about this imho, there is no way we can prohibit or limit certain methods of off-site communication, all we can do is make the site itself more interesting and engaging. Quote:[b]Cliques Not much of an opinion on this, "cliques" often seems more like a generic insult that people throw around when they don't like certain groups of people than it is an actual problem, but I also haven't looked into this too much. There are certain groups of members that I can't stand but even them I have never found them to be "cliquey" per se. Quote:[b]Random Ideas Hooray! Lastly, one more thing that I would like to bring up. You remember the automatic updating tool idea that we talked about a few months back? Any chance we could explore this further? |
