- crutch - 12-01-2016 what if we rebrand as a NASCAR sim league - .bojo - 12-01-2016 Probably a no on injuries for now. But HO can discuss it. - Eggy216 - 12-01-2016 Quote:Originally posted by CRUTCHFIELD@Dec 1 2016, 08:24 PM Army sim league tbh - akamai - 12-01-2016 Looking great!! And way shorter. Sorry I killed the last one. ![]() IMHO re: voting process: I don't want someone forced into the position who has no interest in it or time for it just because they're the most 'neutral' party from that team, but I'd also like to generate discussion in and amongst the teams so that no one feels slighted or like they didn't get a chance to nominate someone. My suggestion: Step 1: I'd like each team to be able to nominate 2 "League Reps" as potential options who have stated in advance that they'd be both willing and able to do it. A team can choose to forfeit their vote if they have no parties who are willing/able to serve. Step 2: HO compiles the list of candidates and is able to veto one name from each team. Step 3: Public write-in vote where list of candidates is presented for each conference at the top of the conference thread. Step 4: HO tallies votes, announces voted-in candidates, and also announces selected officers. If selected officers and voted-in candidates overlap, candidate with the next-most votes replaces them. Does that makes sense/sound good? Also, for SMJHL: I'd like to have a policy that true rookies (first SMJHL season with a first player) are ineligible to be nominated. I don't want someone who hasn't been present in the league before in any position to make decisions, no matter how awesome they are. ![]() - grimreaper - 12-01-2016 Quote:Originally posted by mpc@Dec 2 2016, 12:22 AM I've been looking at a way to introduce injuries as a way to stop people giving too many minutes, but I need to test a lot out and even then it might be too much work for the simmer. I'll post about it tomorrow, too late just now. - Schultzy - 12-01-2016 :stomp: ![]() It's no secret that the biggest delay each off season are the drafts. Every year GMs know they're coming up and the LEAGUE gives GMs 3+ weeks to pick a date and hold up the rest of the players. Why is this still going on and when will the league end the long off-season by picking a date and if both GMs can't make it they send a representative? Every year hundreds of active members are delayed because a handful of selfish semi active members don't want to do their job. Fire them and replace them with people who don't make excuses so the league can stay active. Pick a draft date and force teams to do their jobs! - Eggy216 - 12-01-2016 Schultzy that's more of an issue with recruitment. We delay our recruitment when we should be recruiting during the playoffs so that we don't have to have drafts pushed off to allow us to find enough players to actually hold an SMJHL draft. - Schultzy - 12-01-2016 Quote:Originally posted by Eggy216@Dec 1 2016, 09:29 PMNo shit. It was decided years ago that recruitment drive starts during the 2nd round of the playoffs. But it's also an issue that the league doesn't even think about starting the draft scheduling until after the Cup Finals. GMs know the draft is coming up. They can make arrangements. The GMs should not be setting the date. The league should and the GM should make sure their team is represented at the draft. - Eggy216 - 12-01-2016 Quote:Originally posted by Schultzy@Dec 1 2016, 09:32 PM I could dig it tbh. Biggest thing is definitely recruitment starting on time and not late. - .bojo - 12-01-2016 Quote:Originally posted by Eggy216@Dec 1 2016, 08:41 PM Recruitment should probably start sometime in the playoffs, no? - Schultzy - 12-01-2016 Quote:Originally posted by Eggy216@Dec 1 2016, 09:41 PMBut again, people are already saying this SMJHL class is stacked. You have 5 SMJHL Commissioners and 20 GMs for 8 fucking teams! 25 people run 8 TEAMS which are mostly made up of inactive players anyway! But there's no draft date????????????????? How???? - .bojo - 12-01-2016 How are there 20 SMJHL GM's. - Eggy216 - 12-01-2016 Quote:Originally posted by Bojo@Dec 1 2016, 09:42 PM It should, but when was the last time it did? - Eggy216 - 12-01-2016 Quote:Originally posted by Bojo@Dec 1 2016, 09:45 PM 8 current teams x 2 = 16 + 2 expansion teams to bring us to 10 SMJHL teams x 2 GMs = 20 - .bojo - 12-01-2016 Quote:Originally posted by Eggy216@Dec 1 2016, 08:47 PM Expansion?
