I don't know how to get through to people who think it's fun to make other people sad. I just don't. I'm just telling you now, your humor often comes at the expense of somebody else's unhappiness. If that's the kind of person you want to be, as you said - you do you.

If he had been FA at the time, I'm sure Carnage would have received several offers, likely from good teams, but those teams will have filled that spot by now. At least if it was a cap fine, a trade could have been facilitated for a swap of players or something if needed and everyone still has a roster spot. If TBB could keep Carnage at his contract (in this case 5 mil), with a cap penalty of 5 mil it would put them over the cap, so someone would have to go but a trade is much more amicable for the player than forced FA, and it might instead be someone who is happier to be going to another team.

While it's not exactly the same, back in S60 my old player Luca Veccelli was signed to an IFA contract. I was burnt out but I still checked the site from time to time and read my pings. The rules were supposed to be that in an IFA bidding thread, you have to tag the user. I wasn't and I never saw the thread, which had I seen it I would have stopped the bidding. By the time I noticed it, the season was almost started. It hadn't though, so technically I could still opt out of the IA contract, but there was no point in even trying because at that point rosters were going to be full up anyways. Being thrust into FA that late into the offseason (or even into the season) feels really demoralizing because there's just no options. A few teams could probably make it work but the ones most likely to have space are bad teams, and aside from just cap space the roles on the team are going to be jammed with an extra player. The prospect of going to FA at this point in the season really sucks.
