Magic Mike, what made you want to even watch that if you're not into male strippers?

- GroupMeIsKindOfOkay - 03-27-2016

Spangs only issue with Magic Mike is a scene where they show tits

Die Hard is the reason most Action Movie Stereotypes and Cliches exist, so cut it a little slack there.

Beasts of No Nation (2015)
Idris Elba, Abraham Attah

Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 91%
RainDelay's Rating: 100%

A heart-wrenching, mind-blowing movie about the Sierra Leonean civil war and a child's story of how he got wrapped up in it.

I could probably go on and on about how much I loved this movie, but in this case it's probably best if I let the movie do the talking.

I don't give many 100% ratings.

Because i heard it was a good movie and it was. It's not a movie about male strippers. Sure, they are male strippers, but there's way more depth to the movie.

It doesn't add anything. The tits are phenomenal and if I was just looking for killer tits from movies, that scene would be my favorite. But, as it stands, I can look at tits through other means.

Just don't see why you would watch something like that, when you say you're not interested in men. I'm sure someone's called other movies great but if I'm not into it, I won't watch it.

You understand that the Hobbit is a prequel, right?
I don't disagree with your rating, but your review is lazy.

The issue with the Hobbit trilogy is that they made a 130 page children's book into a 6+ hr trilogy to make as much $ as they could with what was left.
Still worth a watch tho imo

They also gave Peter Jackson almost zero prep time after Del Toro quit. I think if he had more time to plan everything out then the films would have been a lot better. LOTR felt like so much care was put into adapting what they did from the books and pretty much everything about the Hobbit feels rushed to me. Obviously stretching the book into 3 movies was dumb (think 2 would of been a lot better in terms of making the films even) but I think they still could have made it work while keeping what makes the Hobbit great had Jackson had more time.

I also wish they hadn't made the movies so much about CGI, one of the great things about LOTR is how everything felt real so real from the costumes to the sets. Shit like the goblins and wargs in the Hobbit look so much worse than they did in LOTR. I understand its faster to do it this way but CGI will never look as good as the real thing.

I mean if you know what it is, and you don't like it, why waste your time watching it?

Because I don't care what a movie is about.

Because the plot isn't as important as the performances, dialogue, cinematography and whatnot.

I don't like baseball but Moneyball was great
I don't like drugs or slimeball people but The Wolf of Wall Street is one of my favorite movies of the past decade.

Despite popular belief Magic Mike is not a gay porno or movie that is nothing more than guy strippers. It's a decently written, well acted movie that has characters who are male strippers.

Finally got to see Hateful 8 and loved it. A lot like Reservoir Dogs mixed with Django.

Beautifully shot as is everything Tarentino directs, same goes for the amazing soundtrack

And acting was amazing. Overall not quite on the level of Pulp Fiction but right in that 2nd tier with Basterds, Dogs, And Django imo
