Media would generate activity become a relevant part of the site if TPE was given out instead of cash.
Why wouldn't you just eliminate the PT cap and add more tasks? Keep media as is to pay for training and equipment and shit like that.

Most media doesn't generate activity anyway.

High salaries keep players active who would otherwise go inactive. It helps fix the salary cap problems and it adds realism. An elite franchise player should be paid as such. They shouldn't be making less money than a rookie prospect.

to a certain extent, sure. But if a player goes inactive rather than do an article or two per season then they were either probably gonna go inactive anyway/ were already not great at the whole SHL thing

That's a viable option. I'd just really like to see media become relevant, because it will add a persons storyline and improve the role playing aspect of this league.

IMO we should keep most media as ways to recieve cash but add small TPE incentives to the top one or two best articles each week. Having interesting, site related content really does increase activity and should be treated as such, while at the same time recognizing that most articles are shit and dont deserve TPE

Fun Fact:

Activity Check ending week of October 3rd had 228 replies.
Activity Check ending last week had 171.

That's a lot of activity we lost over the last few weeks!

I would like to see the trends as the season goes on, because going off of two arbitrary activity checks you can't actually learn anything other than the raw numbers themselves.

That's why the AC exists though. Is to get numbers to measure.

Thanksgiving though.
The two prior weeks were 183 and 174, respectively. Still a big drop off.

Right, which is why I asked for a more comprehensive analysis and tabulation of those numbers. You gave me two. That doesn't tell me anything.

I just finished a career in the VHL. No, I do not recommend that kind of system in any way shape or form here.

week of 9/27/15 - 192
week of 12/20/15 - 158

It happens during the holidays, I think.

I like the idea of a TPE incentive for the 1 or 2 best articles, but TPE and cash should definitely be kept separate. This keeps equipment the ultimate buy for every player, and a key separator between someone working hard and a more casual player.
