- BBH - 07-11-2012 You see it on every junior team: the inactives or the ones that are just not good enough to make it to their SHL team after being drafted. Those players, instead of getting ample playing time, are being discouraged after they find out they're being buried on the third line in favor of the prospects, and more often than not, 90% of the time, they're much overshadowed by the ones in their junior season. In time, however, this problem can be fixed, with the SHL D-league. The D-league stands for the SHL Developmental League. The D-league is comprised of four teams: the Boston Battalion, the Saskatoon Attack, the St. Louis Strikers, and the Dallas Crunch. Each team is affiliated with either two or three SHL teams, and all of their send-downs would go TO THE D-LEAGUE TEAMS, NOT THE NWJHL TEAMS. Affiliations: Eastern Conference: Boston Battalion - Steelhawks, North Stars, Rage St. Louis Strikers - Jets, Chiefs, Platoon Saskatoon Attack - Comets, Dragons Dallas Crunch - Kings, Panthers This is not a plan that would be put in place starting in S10. We would definitely need more members first, but in time, maybe by S13, this is an idea that could be practiced effectively. So instead of having the send-downs playing on the third line, bottom pairing or as the second string, send them to the D-league where they can blossom without being overlooked. Thoughts? Questions? Comments? Concerns? Do not flame please. - Secord - 07-11-2012 Naw - Boobies - 07-11-2012 It's a good idea and all but honestly don't think it'll work. - Abdeezy - 07-11-2012 Well its pretty much the same thing as the NWJHL. You get sent down and youre basically a top player for your team because you have a whole season of TPE under your belt. Look at Raymond from Toronto last season, one of the league leaders in the NWJHL. Same with Walsh when he was in PGF. Not sure who you play for, Calgary or their affiliate, but you should be playing in the NWJHL and youd be a starter, until old man Jesster gets out of your way ![]() - Boobies - 07-11-2012 Quote:Originally posted by Secord@Jul 11 2012, 10:54 PMGo rear end another BMW ***** - BasedMinkus - 07-11-2012 lol Boston Battalion will never be a D league team - Secord - 07-11-2012 Quote:Originally posted by The Rockstar@Jul 11 2012, 10:55 PMMaybe I just will you cunt - Carl - 07-11-2012 I think it's a good idea! - philthethrill81 - 07-11-2012 Its alright but we dont need it - raymond3000 - 07-11-2012 No. Each team would have around 6 players with only a couple actives. And it's the same thing as the NWJHL - CM Syckez - 07-11-2012 Did you take into account that there will be 2-3 actives per team and 5-7 players a team. That would be a lot of extra jobs for another NWJHL league. Until we have 700+ members this is a bad idea - LX_Theo - 07-11-2012 We don't grow fast enough for this to be needed for a very long time. Much longer than what you suggested. - Corco - 07-11-2012 This is how I see it. SHL=NHL NWJHL=CHL This=AHL And as others have said, we will need to have about 100-200 more actives members for this to work successfully - Splat - 07-12-2012 I like it but I'll sill be riding the bench for my nwjhl season - deknegt - 07-12-2012 Quote:Originally posted by Corcoran@Jul 12 2012, 04:50 AM What Corcoran said. We would need a lot more members to this site and even now we get a lot of inactives in the draft and in the NWJHL season. And some people naturally don't like it to be send down and they leave, and you got people who are unhappy at this and this and they leave. At the end of the day you have enough people to have full SHL teams and a solid NWJHL season with a couple of send-downs. But the league is way to small, and it doesn't look like it's going to get big enough any time soon. And even if this site got a rediculous influx of new guys, I am pretty sure we would sooner get some more expansion teams instead of creating a third league. |
