My original prompt was a reddit post I saw on r/hockey. I had been looking for a fantasy hockey fix that lasted longer than a season and had meaningful engagement. I was tired of doing a draft and then playing with people who never set their lines or never made trades. So I was searching for like a decent dynasty league but kind of had it on the back burner because I wanted to convince my friends to join me. Lo and behold I saw an SHL post and that seemed kind of like what I wanted. I love simulations, speed running, programming, dnd, board games, etc. All that sort of logic and rules type of thing, so the SHL intrigued me. So i created for S50 right away and lemme tell you (see below) it's the best draft in history no bias.
Best change is hands down FHM. That seems kind of obvious. Even I was starting to see the writing on the walls with player builds. Get Defense up to 99, separate shooting, scoring, skating by 10. Real boring stuff. To whatever extent the same is true of FHM, it at least does a really good job of giving the illusion of free choice lol. I've always felt like I was making a calculated decision with every point. And, once I finally got to testing and setting lines, there's a whole new level of competitiveness that just isn't possible in STHS. Beyond that obvious choice, I felt like the scale change was very good and added some much needed parity to the league, especially IIHF. I'm pretty sure great britain's DNQ a few seasons ago was 100% due to the fact that our old strategy just didn't work because having lots of TPE on your team isn't a free win. And now look, Japan has beat out canada twice now. It's great to see movement in the league.
Worst change...That's a tough one. I don't know, I don't think there's much I'm unhappy with in terms of change. The things I am unhappy with are long-standing problems and traditions that are probably not even problems to begin with. They're just things I don't care for. I guess the worst thing that has happened is that Pingy retired again.

Honestly, maybe you're memeing but S50 has to be one of the best drafts in a long time. Maybe you could argue with some empirical data that other classes are better. But, lets just look at the list of users who joined in July 2019. @golden_apricot, @charlieconway, @fishy, @Naosu, @puolivalmiste, @Ferda, You, @Fitted2106, Me, @CementHands, @ACapitalChicago, @UrsinZ, @gurbs, @Rankle, @Z0REM, @TomHanks, plus probably more that arent on the tracker anymore. Like Jesus Christ, pretty much all of those names are well known in the league, some of them GMs now. In terms of bringing in long term powerhouses of users, it's gotta be up there in the annals of SHL history. When we all hit our prime around S58 or so the league definitely shifted.

I dont know about "expect" but there are a few things I'm keen on:
- IIHF restructure. It seems like there are some nations that just don't care or just can't be competitive due to lack of members or lack of ability to get more. There are big changes coming to the rules, so I'm not quite advocating for anything in particular. But I would love more agency for players or some kind of catch-all team like the WJC has. just so people are interested in it more.
- A new FHM. At some point the next FHM will be worth the change. It seems like maybe they are going for more annual releases and if the changes are good enough then I'd love to switch over. One of the things I've heard tell of is custom leagues in save files, which would make it easier to make meme tournaments and the like. That would be really fun.
- More stats to put TPE into. I love the current stats, but the mental stats all being 15 seems kinda lame to me. I understand there was much deliberation about this, but if it makes sense in future FHMs to have access to mental stats, I'd love that.

I've definitely learned to hate Detroit despite my proximity to the real thing. Mostly a meme, but i say FUCK DETROIT.
I've actually really enjoyed following along Baltimore. I hate their branding, but It's nice seeing a team rebuild along side us and it's fun to try to catch them. I expect we will meet more often in the playoffs. Plus, im a huge Karl krashwagen stan.
Other than that, I don't think I dislike any team too much. Not to say I wouldn't balk at going to some places at this point in my career, but I think the doors are open when i recreate.

Leap years are down years for me. It seems like it's really hard to hit that 2.4 reps quota on those years and I can never manage to hit it. Plus Fitted has been really busy lately, so my rep has suffered.
