RE: Expansion team news - Southie - 03-30-2025

1836 is probably Texas. 1851 is perhaps Portland (either Maine or Oregon.)

Quote:January 23 – The flip of a coin determines whether a new city in the Oregon Territory is named after Boston, Massachusetts, or Portland, Maine, with Portland winning.

RE: Expansion team news - RainDelay - 03-30-2025

We already had a team in Portland so I’m lowkey hoping it’s not that

RE: Expansion team news - Kalakar - 03-30-2025

Tulsa founded in 1836, tulsa team confirmed

RE: Expansion team news - hockeyfan - 03-30-2025

The Montreal Canadiens won their first Stanley Cup in 1836

RE: Expansion team news - boom - 03-30-2025

1836 was the date of Texas becoming independent and their capital then was San Antonio. No idea what 1851 means.

RE: Expansion team news - sköldpaddor - 03-30-2025

this is obviously just a basic A1Z26 cypher, translating to
AHCF
AHEA

which quite clearly is intended to be expanded to

After Hair Comes Freedom

Arise, Hairless Egg, Arise

RE: Expansion team news - Jexter - 03-31-2025

1836 if going by year: Texas/San Antonio for the Alamo or Houston as Sam Houston led the Texan Forces to victory in San Jacinto and the city of Houston was founded.
Or The Wisconsin territory was founded and considering that we already have a Texan team, maybe a Wisconsin one could join.

1851: Victoria colony in Australia is founded. HFFO likes Montreal teams, is he attempting to name a team after the PWHL team Montreal Victoire? With the Wisconsin Victory? Or it was the first photo graphed solar eclipse: Wisconsin Eclipses?
Also the death of Mary Shelley: the Milwaukee Monsters?
