- Kesler17 - 08-29-2013 <div align="center">The Alex Smirnov story. Alex Smirnov was made to enter the S9 NWJHL draft, the young Canadian/Russian was eager to get drafted and start his career. Smirnov did not know where or when he would get drafted. He was taken in sometime in the 7th round I think, I am not sure. Anyways the Detroit Falcons were the lucky team to snap up the winger. Smirnov was so excited to get drafted to the great NWJHL franchise, and he was determined to win a cup. In the same draft the Falcons took other scrubs such as Drizzy Drake, Smirnov Light, Dickie Adua, and Jason Michaels. All of which were way better Smirnov at the time but Smirnov was determined to surpass his peers. ![]() Smirnov showing off his terrible puck skills after the draft Let’s skip to half way through is NWJHL season, Smirnov still has not gotten any better. His teammates are all leaving Smirnov in the dust in tpe and training and pretty much everything else. Smirnov decides to work his ass off for the remainder of the season to make an attempt to catch up to his teammates. Well Smirnov failed at that but the Falcons made it to the finals as the underdogs due to the play of super scrubs like Drake and Light. Anyways the Falcons were facing off against the super stud Vancouver Whalers. I am ninety percent sure the Falcons had never beaten the Whalers at all that season. Well the Falcons pushed the Whalers to a rugged game 7 in Vancouver. It was late in the third period, tied one, one I believe and the Falcons head coach Dion does a complete idiotic move and lets Smirnov jump on the ice with a couple minutes left. Smirnov stumbles on the ice and does a dangle cause of his super awesome puck skills I might add, and does a toe drag to a fake shot to a saucer pass to the one and only Smirnov Light and Light goes forward backhand top shelf. The crowd goes wild in Vancouver as the building erupts that such a scrub like Smirnov has practically won the game for the Falcons. That one 30 second shift moved his draft stock from like 60th overall to 23rd overall. At the draft Smirnov was super stoked, he really only wanted to go to Winnipeg, cause they were stacked to the nights with super stars at the time. When Winnipeg’s pick came around GM Damian Littleton hesitated to announce, “With the 23rd Overall pick of the S10 draft, The Jets would like to announce that they are drafting Alex Smirnov from the Detroit Falconsâ€. Smirnov shit his pants when this was announced. ![]() Smirnov with GM Littleton and Head of scouting Let’s skip to first game of the season; Smirnov is playing on the third lien with two guys better than him. I do not know either of their names so does not ask. Smirnovs SHL debut completely sucked, he was probably a -3 with 4 penalty minutes, probably like 10 turnovers, 0 shots on net that about it. Smirnov did actually start talking about girls with his anonymous line mates. ![]() Smirnov (right) talking about girls to his line mate (left). Smirnov would go on to post a shitty 8 points in his rookie campaign .In Smirnov sophomore season he more than tripled his points from his first season, he put up a stellar 29 point season, playing with lien mates Jordan Hall and Armin Brovalchuk. Season after that Smirnov would take a huge step back, he was expecting to have a point per game season, guess what. That did not happen, Smirnov 20 points in just 48 games. Plus he was traded at the dead line to the West Kendall Platoon. ![]() Smirnov meeting new teammate Jaska Tillikainen Smirnvos time in West Kendall was very short lived. In the off season Smirnov was caught drinking and driving and was suspended for 25 games. When Smirnov came back there were multiple problems with the team, other players wanted out for no apparent reason and GM Jon Maxfield was forced to sell the team and start from scratch. Smirnov decided to waive his NTC to a limited number of team. One of that team was the New England Wolf pack. The wolf pack was an expansion team from the season 10 draft. Trade talk was quick and easy for the GM Ace Chisling and GM Jon Maxfield as the settled on a deal within a couple days for the shitty winger. ![]() Smirnov (left) and Clarke (right) putting on WolfPack jerseys for the first time After the deal the Wolf Pack made, they were looking like serious contenders adding two big star players. Both are very highly underrated but both can get the job done. At the draft the Pack had picks one, three and 7 I think? At one they took top prospect Chuck Winnfield, at number 3 they took the big gritty hard noised center Carter O’Callahan and at 7 or 8 or 9?? Maybe they took Gabriel Dujardin. The team instantly just got better. They added a future power forward second line center in O Cally, and a future top 2 d man in Winnfield and also got a future top 4 d man in Dujardin. The future is looking bright for the Pack. The season went well for the Wolf Pack and Smirnov. Smirnov put up a solid 40 point season. The Wolf pack is now in the finals against the Renegades. Smirnov has not been playing good his last couple games. Next pre season Alex Smirnov will be taking an early retirement and will not be coming back 955 words</div> - Kesler17 - 08-29-2013 I will be taking questions as well. - Hallsy - 08-29-2013 I was ur lien mate? - Kesler17 - 08-29-2013 Quote:Originally posted by hallsy@Aug 29 2013, 11:57 AMNot for my first season, I was on a line with 2 inactives. - Secord - 08-29-2013 lol at calling yourself a myth and legend, but especially a man.
