Los Angeles, CA -- Recently hired General Manager Niclas Wastlund has been quite busy since getting the job just a few days ago. He quickly acquired star winger Brandon Donini from the Winnipeg Jets for their newest 1st round pick Victor Helstrom and their S16 1st round pick. Donini quickly signed a long term contract with the club and will be looked to be a big piece of the Panthers offense for years to come.
With most of the core players re-signed for more than two seasons the Panthers are quickly becoming the Western Conference's rising team. With young stars like the S14 Rookie of the Year, Marian Potoczny and Brian Morley plus budding stars like defenseman, OJ Simpson and Sergei Zherdev, the team is on a great track for the future..
GM Niclas Wastlund is already putting his own mark on the Organization and called his first press conference tonight at the Panthers' home arena, the Staples Center.
"First I'd like to thank everyone for coming and this is already been quite the week for the team and myself. Tonight I'm here to talk about two new things hitting the Panthers organization. First on hand is that I am ready to announce who will be the Panthers' Co-GM and that will be Smirnov Light!! (Taron.) Light was the Panthers GM when this team started making its transition into the rebuild and has been a great leader for this team. I'm happy that I'll have someone that has been through the trials that I will be going through," Wastlund said.
Smirnov Light approaches the stage and shakes hands with Wastlund. Light takes a seat on the side of the stage.
"My second announcement will be that the Los Angeles Panthers are rebranding and I'm here to unveil the Panthers' new logos for the S15 season! We are officially changing our colors from the Purple, Yellow and Black to Pacific Teal, Orange, Black and White. The logos were designed from MCrosby Studios out of Madison, Wisconsin who I hired after shortly getting the position. I felt like the Panthers have been in somewhat of a identity crisis since the team's first couple of seasons and needed to revert back to something Iconic and Classic but still being worthy of Los Angeles," Wastlund added

"Like I said I wanted to go a complete new direction from the old Panthers logos and really have some meaning and that classic/icon look. So the Panther is positioned in the same manner as the California State Flag, in front of the famous California Sun and the Teal sky. In the top left is a white star to signify the state flag nod. Another little small nod to California as the Panther is also looking Left because LA is on the "Left" Coast. This logo will be featured on the front of our Home and Away jerseys and the Shoulders of our alternate jersey," Wastlund said.

"As I played my whole career in Minnesota with the Chiefs, I've been a fan of the Minnesota Wild logo. So our alternate logo is a Wild inspired logo as Los Angeles has its own kind of "Wild." The logo features the Los Angeles skyline and the famous griffith park mountains within the shape of a Panther head. The Star makes up the eye because as everyone knows there are a bunch of Stars in LA. This logo will be featured on the front of our Alternate jersey and the shoulders of our Homes & Away."
Niclas Wastlund will be on hand to take questions.
Smirnov Light can field some as well.
