Interview What do you see for yourself moving forward? Is there a protege you will be helping or are you going to take a backseat and enjoy retirement?

Yes I did, the only thing I didn't accomplish that I really wanted was winning a Ron Mexico Trophy, even though I felt i was cheesed out of it in S20 based on who has won in past seasons. I won 2 Cups, 2 McBrides and a bunch more noms. I think im 2nd all time in shutouts behind Ask.

I think I am going to be taking a backseat to retirement for a bit and maybe I might bring in another protege.

Thanks for the questions.

The only thing I would have done differently was during S22-24 I altered my players build numerous times after a few bad performances which ended up being detrimental to my players stats. So I would have probably just left my build the same after S21 and never changed it. Also, the fact I earned a shit ton of TPE is something i regret putting the time and effort into since that's 1600 TPE or so that's going to just be flushed away.

Regarding my team choices, wouldn't change a thing. Loved being on the Renegades and I am very happy with the success I had in both the SMJHL and SHL. Now if only I could win a gold medal in the IIHF tourney my career would be complete.

Very tough question to answer, but honestly I think somewhere in the top 5-7 of all time.

Nope. The Whalers are very dear to my heart as I GM'd them and played for them. I am not even sure if I will recreate right now so...

How will it feel being back in a LR with Byrde and me?

Ready to win another Cup?

It was inevitable that i would be traded after i announced my retirement, but I am glad to go to Minny and hopefully win my 3rd cup as a starter!

It is gonna be great! I am really excited for the LR atmosphere in Minny after 2 years in Texas.

Yes i am!

How do you feel about being traded to Minnesota?

Do you think Minnesota has the talent to contend for a cup?

Will there be a divide between goaltenders with Ranjan being potentially pushed aside for an older more experienced goaltender?

What will you do after your playing career?
[/quote]

I felt very good about being traded to Minnesota. After the offseason in Texas where we lost quite a few key players to other teams, as well, the recent retirements of our veteran players, I wanted the last opportunity to win a challenge cup. I was very sad however to be leaving the only team I have ever suited up for, as I have been with them for 10 seasons. I am looking forward to the final season with a new team, and hoping we can win a cup!

I think we have the talent for sure. With top end players such as Jakobsen, Sarantez, Sawyer, Kallestrom, Stryker (if he resigns), Reinhart, Bananov and Feeny we have a sweet offense. Even with the loss of Salmon i think the Chiefs can do good. Defensivlely we have Byrde and Garbanzo, as well as, Walter White, and Brandon Cant. So we have a great defense as well. Now with a 800 TPE upgrade in goaltending, I think we can go all the way and win the cup this season.

I don't think there will be a divide with us, its one season and Ranjan has a whole lot of his career left with the Chiefs and even in the league, so I do think he should resign or if he does sign elsewhere, do it for one season and come back to the Chiefs next season.

After my playing career I think i am going to sit back and possibly go back to school and finish my degree in engineering, or I may mentor a protege and get back in to the GM aspect of the league. It's crazy to think its been 10 years since I came into the SMJHL and SHL so this is a well needed break.
