Hi, I'm meterologist/goalie/GM Colin Schmidt, here to bring you live updates from the tail end of the S25 Shitstorm season.
RECAP:
Shitstorm Barney: Cat 4
Technically an S24 storm, our first severe weather system blew into town at the end of the playoffs in mid-July, as a few members of the SMJHL disagreed with the way the PbP's were being run by Narconis. Narconis' reaction was strong, though not unprecedented, and he was handed a three-day posting ban as well as a three game suspension, which was removed after an appeal. The eye of the hurricane passed over the SHL during the three-day ban, but did not fully dissipate as Narconis took to Twitter to voice his displeasure. Winds picked up strongly again once he returned, in the form of a Thunderdome thread directed at the discipline committee.
Shitstorm Steven: Cat 5
It was a rough time for the SHL, with Shitstorm Barney having just blown through and emergency crews scrambling, long-time member gorlab was passed over in the expansion GM announcements. Gorlab, being a vocal member of the board but also very dedicated to some of the undervalued work that he does, did not take kindly to this, and his actions resulted in a two week posting ban, a three games suspension and a $5M fine. This storm was harsh, but blew over quickly most likely due to the posting ban.
Shitstorm Bryson: Cat 3
After a high-profile FA signing made by the Stampede in the first week of August, it was quickly discovered that new Stampede player Bryson Thomaz had paid out $10M as a signing bonus. Arguments about the integrity of this decision became quickly heated, but blew over within a couple hours after 701 retracted the transaction.
Shitstorm John: Cat 5
The storm that rocked the league the hardest hit the SHL the same day as Shitstorm Bryson, and was probably a factor in reducing the damage the earlier system did, as most attention was focused on what started as a taunt from Whalers center Beau Ballard at his SMJHL GM. The Thunderdome thread quickly grew to over 50 pages as player lashed out at GM, GM at player, as well as a handful of third parties throwing themselves into the frey. Debatable tampering occurred, and it was a tough day for members of the Whalers and North Stars organizations. The worst damage was done to Ballard's trade stock, which dropped like a stone in a matter of hours, resulting in him being called up by the SHL's Toronto franchise.
CURRENT STORM WATCH:
Shitstorm Robb: Cat 2
This one was completely undetected by our radar here at SHL Weather HQ, and developed very quickly this evening in a thread which saw Renegades draftee Travis Kudleychuk post a thread thanking his Prince George teammates in a remarkably similar way to Stampede draftee Robb Wind. After Wind poked fun at the similarity, Texas GM Maxim Horvat called Wind out for allegedly blowing off the Renegades as a possible draft choice. Things escalated quickly between Wind and Horvat, but the lightning really only struck between the two of them, and the whole thing blew over in an hour or two with both sides eventually leaving on good terms.
ON THE RADAR:
Shitstorm Darian: Cat 0
In the midst of Shitstorm Bryson, it came to attention that Darian Scherbluk has been using questionable tactics when it comes to TPE claiming and regression. However, this seems to have gone overlooked for the most part in the midst of the other storms. With a lull in severe weather systems approaching at the conclusion of Shitstorm Robb, we here at SHL Weather HQ are keeping an eye on this system as it could develop further.
Shitstorm Steven II: N/A
With gorlab's two-week posting ban just about over, it is possible that things could get a little more blustery around here. Of course we hope they won't, but only time will tell.

- Discourse: Just plain stupid

Cat 6:
Let's just hope this never happens. I think we'd all know if it did.
Combatants are considered members who are directly arguing with each other.
Third parties are considered members who are picking sides but not directly engaging.
